    HODL

    • +9

For how long? 1 year? 2 years? Infinity?

    • Hodl for what exactly mate?

I'm keen to jump on the deal but trying to get done cash together. @Nathw

      • 5000 series 👀

        • +3

Awww mate, that's like November 2024. Too too far to hodl for. 🤔😭

  • +9

And we gone back to only 16GB Ram

  • +3

16GB MEMORY for this machine is ridiculous…

  • +15

Thanks for the quick feedback - the first deal we launched also had 16GB but I've bumped it to 32GB in line with the cost. Early orders will be upgraded automatically.

    • Thanks! Bought one before you edited. Was about to email you.

      • +8

No probs, I can tell which order you are and confirm I've made the change.

    • +1

      Hi Luke ,
I ordered one on 16/2/24 , if I pay the difference can I order this one instead?
      Thanks

      • +2

I'm sure we can figure it out - please email [email protected] so we can all see and action it

        • Thanks Luke just emailed them hope to hear from them soon.

    • Hey Luke,

I bought the i7 deal on the 17th. I just sent an email asking to upgrade it to this deal and pay the difference. Is that doable?

      • My order number is #TF4880360724

      • I did similar on the 18th with the Ryzen deal. Also looking to pay the diff and upgrade. #TF4880492087

  • +4

Wow, why such crap ram when everything else is specced so well?

  • +1

$2,948.00 for me? Also do you deliver to SA?

    • +1

I updated the deal - the 32GB is factored in, but it's cheaper than our regular upgrade price.

    • They're based in Adelaide so if you're there you can just pick it up from the warehouse, but I'm pretty sure they deliver to other places in SA too

Question from a non-gamer (I just occasionally play PS4 and iPad games).

If you buy one of these fast gaming PCs, do you have to pay a lot for the games? Or are there some decent cheap/free games like the $10-$20 PS4 games?

Also, how much would you have to spend on a PC to get better gaming experience/performance than a PS5?

    Thanks

    • +6

This is already much more powerful than a ps5.
Epic give free games every week and steam have very good sales every now and again

      • +1

Also free games from Amazon Prime (Prime Gaming)

Steam keys are also inexpensive. Your limiting factor won't be price of the games but storage to hold them all. Luckily this has expandable storage in the form of SSDs and HDDs you can add yourself.

        • Forgot about that. Good pro tip on storage lol

    • +2

There are often sales on good games that make them appear in that price range. But it won't apply until some time after their release. There are also giveaways of AAA games on platforms like EPIC sometimes. I would say you can get a lot of good games on PC cheaper than consoles.

As for your PS5 performance question. That is near impossible to answer as it depends on a lot of things. Lot of PS5 games are locked to specific graphics settings so you can never get them to look as good as the PC equivalent. But on the other hand PS5 games are optimized for that console so even if the hardware is vastly inferior they run pretty smooth and offer consistent experience while on PC your experience will vary and degrade over time with newer games while consoles will stay consistent until next gen.
You also have games developed for PS5 that run like crap on very expensive PCs (like $2500) because of a very poor port (Like Last of Us).
PCs are also better suited for some types of games that require mouse for controls, like strategy games.

Overall I would say PCs are more involved and require a bit of extra knowledge, investment and setup and reward you with potentially better outputs.
Consoles are better for "I just want to play" people and that also explains why games are more expensive: Console gamers value their convenience and are willing to pay more for it in games.

the $799 3060 intel build they posted in Jan shits on a ps5 and you can get all ps1-4, xbox 360, switch, wii u, gameboy etc. game for free on emulators. you can get modern AAA games regularly for 80% off on steam. free games on epic games. huge amount of f2p mmo's, and technically you can download any paid AAA single player game from steamunlocked and play for free illegaly. all whilst browsing on other monitors. buy a gaming rig, join us

      • This is not true.. the ps5/series X GPU is equivalent of a 3060ti.. and considering how ps5 optimises games for their platform the equivalence more akin to something like a 3070/ti.
But the backwards compatibility is fair

        • +2

i'll back pedal a bit and say in general use it shits on it, and competes well for performance depending on cpu. not far off shitting on it though at that price point. saying 3070ti is kinda laughable though man, no way. 2070 i'd agree.

          • +2

@thiccglutes: Can't disagree there. Anyway the versatility of a PC with 3060 is pretty much like 85-90% graphical power with 10000% versatility. Backwards compatible with any generation. And plays RTS etc much much better than any console will
PC make more sense in general…
I use steam big picture and play with a controller very comfortably.

      • You can also use your PC for work as well.
It can compile code or edit videos very fast :-)

    • Humble Bundle has eight games for $17 (often less with coupons) every month. Last month included Marvel's Midnight Suns, Roguebook and Two Point Campus.

    • I'm a mostly PS5 gamer, but PC games are miles cheaper than console games (with the exception of most AAA releases when they first come out).

Steam regularly has deep sales, Epic Games give out about 50 games a year for free (often great titles too) and you can often get 2+ year old games for dirt cheap in bundles.

    • pc gaming also very much depended on pc peripherals. personally i pay more attention towards those than RAW spec. such as audio, visual, keyboard, mouse even chair/desk is part of it to me. so it is very hard question to answer.

  • Wow upgrade the system to 32gb for same price. Super job

    • +3

I updated the deal - the 32GB is factored in, but it's cheaper than our regular upgrade price.

      • Ahhh I just noticed the $60 bump. Still very good. Kudos brother

  • +1

God damn my diamond hands are losing their grip. Hmmff

  • Does the liquid cooled cpu cooler mean you need to be liquid cooled? Or its a standard air cooler that can be hooked up to liquid?

Does it require liquid cooling in this config?

    • +3

It's an all-in-one liquid cooler with a closed loop. You don't add liquid or need anything additional.

      • Thank you 🙌

        • dont forget to top it up yearly with antifreeze

        • +4

It just requires checking once a year for any damage. They generally last 5 years

    • just keep eye on your temp basically, that would be all you need to worry about. ofc any leak should covered by this warranty assume no temper was made by the user.

  • Hi there, I’m an architect. And I’m looking for a good PC for my work flow - Revit, enscape, autocad, photoshop, etc. Is this gaming PC a good idea or should I consider something else? Thanks.

    • +2

It would be plenty for that.

    • +5

you might want to double your ram depending on the size of models and amount of links that you are using in Revit, otherwise yes CPU and GPU will smash it we use i9-11950H and RTX A2000 laptops at our workplace and we handle Revit and Enscape fine

edit: to avoid confusion double from 32GB to 64GB not from the original 16GB to 32GB

I've been working in the AEC industry since 2006, 3 different countries and every major city in Australia and not once come across a consultant using Mac as the predominant workstation, I have seen 1 at our company in that time in the landscape arch team

ipads get a run but that is usally for filling in forms on site :p

      • The only thing is there is no Mac Revit, otherwise I’m happy to use Mac.

      • Every “real” Architect uses Revit nowadays…

  • I don't need to upgrade my 7 year old pc (general use) but gad damn this looks good I wanttttt

    • Even for general use a PC like this would feel a lot snappier. Speaking from experience upgrading from a 2017 PC with 7th gen intel to 13th gen intel.

      • Mate I have an old as 1080ti, i5 6500 CPU, 16GB ram and a Nvme..2 HDD.

It boots in 5 seconds if not less. It plays any game I have amazingly. All programs launch in a seconds.

Not sure what else you would need to feel snappier.

Not 15+ years ago, sure. But it you got a Ssd or Nvme your computer will fly.

Only commenting because you said for general use.

If you are doing some heavy lifting, might make more sense.

        • The snappiness I'm talking about isn't the usual stuff people like to benchmark eg how long it takes to boot or how long it takes to open 10 apps. I'm talking about general operations, opening windows/dialog boxes, switching windows, unzipping files, web responsiveness etc. If you're experienced with Windows then you can fly through dialog boxes, and even if it's only milliseconds faster for each step you'll feel the speed increase.

  • Wow, 2k more for a 4090 with less RAM.

That 4080 build looks like good value

  • Bought this about 1.5weeks ago and was only offered 16GB base… big kick in the pants to see it at 32gb here. Thanks.

    • Did you receive your PC yet? can you tell us about it?

      • +2

Only just arrived but looks well put together and runs as intended. CPU doesnt seem to get too hot with the liquid cooler…

Was shipped on day 9 (advertises 5-10 business days) and arrived another 4 business days later so all up about 2.5/3 weeks.

        • +2

So you didn’t buy it 1.5 weeks ago then?

          • @bopter12: 😜😂😂

          • @bopter12: Bought 3rd Feb*

            • +1

@rchance: Have you put it through it paces? what's the noise level like? What are the CPU temps at max? How's the build quality on the case?

              • +1

@captainmac: I havent really but Intel XTU benchmark gives it 13054Marks for ref. Idle temps are around high 30s low 40 and goes up to about 60-70 under stress.

Fans are pretty quiet although there's one i havent pinpointed that gets a bit loud but nothing that bad.

Case is great although has a glass side panel which came all scratched up. It doesnt bother me so much but buyer beware…

                • +1

@rchance: Did you unpeel the protective film from the glass? sometimes it's on both sides

                  • +1

@captainmac: I'm a big fat fool. I had not realised there was plastic on the inside… scratches removed. All looking good. Thank you!

    • Was going to say the same thing. Had to pay more for the 850w psu as well.

    • The upgrade was only $89 you would have saved $29 buying this build vs the one you bought

  • +1

waiting for the i5 + 4060 deal to come back :s

  • Was there a deal for 4090/3090 for a bit over $3k last year?
    I may have imagined it.
    It may have been 4080.

    • That would be an absolute insane deal

  • Is paypal an option for payment?

  • Does the motherboard have built in wifi?

    • +2

      It's in the title..

      • Yea I thought so but when I add it to cart networking tab says onboard wired internet instead of wifi. Anyways I added the wifi adapter before ordering it.

        • Now all I need to do is find a 1440p monitor deal.

  • +1

    Hi Luke,
I have an existing order which is the same as this except with the 4070tisuper , i did reach out on 17th asking about possibly upgrading/inquiring about a 4080 however i got one response from Caleb in support saying nope not returning in stock anytime soon, however i see above it now is… 2days later , i have been trying to get in touch with someone so we can modify my order please before its too late.
    Kind regards
    Dan

  • Which 360mm AIO is included?

  • Just quick update , all sorted now.
    Thanks techfast !

  • Hi Luke,
Thanks for the clear information. I've placed an order yesterday [Order #TF4880634702].
Would you be able to advise if the Tax Invoice is provided as a printout with the delivery or also digital?

Thanks in advance and with thanks :)

    • +1

Printed and digital. Thanks for the order!

  • In regards to warranty, if the computer has to be sent back is shipping covered by TechFast both ways? Thanks.

    • Sure is. As long as it is a warrantable fault, which is standard. e.g. if the motherboard has a faulty RAM slot, that's warrantable. If the PC was being used as a worm farm, that's not warrantable.

      • …but Luke I use my PCs as worm farms in the community

  • price jacked up by $60 after the 32gb ram change

  • +1

    Has anybody’s order shipped yet?

    • +1

nope no rely when I email them too :(

      • +1

        Same here :(.

        • bro i ordered on 24feb
i havent got any confirmation and email stop replying to me

    • Ordered on 21/02, no update so far

      • Yikes!

        • Have received it today!!!

    • Ordered on 22nd and nothing either.

To be fair, the original listing (which is now gone) did say "Despatches in 5 - 10 business days" so I'd give them that timeframe at least.

      • I ordered on 21st.

        • Still early days then. Another week before the ETA is lapsed.
