it also says with an eligible mobile phone. but i have a iPad tablet it will let me trade in but not sure if that works for the $500 gift card?
Tablet trade ins are a no go … just emailed them, and they said only trade in of smartphones will get the bonus:

This is not the best option. You can get it for as low as $1490 via Education Store (provided you have a $5 burner you want to trade in).

1178 for me using a loyalty voucher extra 200. Off. Using a note 10 value $40 for trade.
A few people have said they also stacked a samsung community trade in bonus extra 200 off and got it at 978

Seems like a great deal on paper. Cost $2197 for s24 ultra 512, but they upgrade this to 1TB.
Will receive $960 trade in on s23 ultra.
Will receive $500 gift card
Will receive bonus $150 MasterCard gift card.
But the downside is paid $2197 upfront.
And these rest is digital gift cards $1460 for Officeworks only , and then can ONLY be used instore.
The $150 MasterCard gift card I assume you can use for groceries etc
All this means is they then get your business for another $1460 of stuff that you really don't need until you purchase another phone.
I'm contemplating the same situation as the above, unfortunately it's OW GC's which I won't have much use for. It make it worth it if paying with 28deg for price protection, could score another $500 in price reductions as I did with my s23 Ultra.
I don't think they upgrade the 512GB you order to the 1TB model rather the price of the 512GB phone is shown as the price for the 128GB model.
going through the trade in process it says: "You'll instantly receive your digital gift card when you submit your trade-in"
Can anyone who has completed a trade in with OW confirm that the bonus can't be used towards the phone?
I've traded in with JB before but not OW and both the trade in value and bonus offer is used towards the new phone.
I've just gone through the trade-in process and was offered $115 for a Samsung s10.
The digital gift card came through as 1x $100 and 1x $15 vouchers.
Unfortunately the checkout only allows one gift card to be added, with the remaining balance required to be on credit card.. so I can only take $100 off the price at pre-order.
The bonus voucher has not come through.. I suspect we probably need to wait a few weeks after the pre-order goes through and the trade-in is processed.
That's a shame and a bit misleading since it says it's instant. Even more crazy that the entire trade in value can't be used towards the phone it's traded for!

I suspect the $1460 in vouchers that say will arrive by February 29( according to terms and conditions) will end up being used the next time you upgrade your phone.
But will have to be used instore.
Means Officeworks get 2 phone purchases out of you .
Or you spend it on a tablet or towards a laptop.
Gift cards at end of February are too late for back to school families too.

While this does not guarantee you'll have to pay for Galaxy AI features after two years, the possibility remains open. When buying a Galaxy S24 smartphone, you aren't necessarily purchasing lifetime access to Samsung's AI tools.
Make sure you submit the claim form to claim your 500 gc (which can't be used towards the s24)

I've just completed my order and it was quite a poor experience
tl;dr: you must online order to receive all the benefits but can only use a $500 gift card
It's still a good deal if you meet certain conditions like having a phone with a trade in value of $500 or less. Wish I just used JB-Hifi now this was a pretty deceptive process but imo still better than having to spend it all on random samsung accessories/other items.
So picked up my handset today from officeworks.
Also got the e-mail this morning from the trade in company they have received my handset and checking it.
Haven't seen any vouchers or gift cards as yet.
I wanted to pay the full price and get the full vouchers to use elsewhere

I tried sending my device in today but aust post said I needed to buy my own packaging to send it in. However the OW website says they will provide a padded bag at no charge. Did u use your own package /buy your own or was this provided to you by aus post?

Officeworks has kept delaying the Ready for collection date for me. It was Jan 29th initially and now it's Monday Feb 5th. I believe that'll be pushed back again. Has this happened to anyone?
Yep I'm in the same boat wish I waited to trade my old phone it. From what I can tell samsung only started shipping out devices on the 30th. Dunno how JB already has them though. Mine finally moved to processing the order on Friday so I'm hoping I actually get it monday but have my doubts until official release on the 7th at this point.
