The "artwork" effect is really convincing. Really looks like a matte painting.

    • I actually want one for that reason, and then when F1 is on, swivel it on the wall so i can watch all the stats/data etc.

  • Really wanting to purchase a Frame but not sure if a 65inch TV would be the perfect choice for my room. Would be viewing from a couch which is around 4mts away.

    • +1

I have 75inch for my 3.8m place and looks great -!: not really big.

      • +1

Would've been awesome if the 75inch had a bit better discount.

        • I have got 75inch for $1675 in April 2023 Easter sale combining 30% discount code via email. I wish such kinda deals to come again. Want to buy a 42inch frame TV for front living to have TV cum Frame!

    • +2

Depends what you're watching. If you're mostly watching movies, a TV that's "too big" is actually not a bad thing because nothing happens on the periphery. If you're watching sports like tennis, where the action mostly happens in the periphery, it'll get a bit dizzying.

      • Even more so for gaming.

    • +1

      https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/by-size/size-to-distance-r…

Although their data don't show it, extrapolation to 4m viewing distance would put you around 95+ inch TV. I have 3.7m from head to panel and my 85 inch Frame is the smallest I could accept for a comfortable viewing of movies. I have wall space for about 105 inch which I would like to buy for my ultimate movie experience, but that has to wait few years until large OLED panels have reasonable prices and come with matte surface.

Beware of the picture quality on this large panel though - TheFrame is very flimsy and even small pressure (during installation) seems to cause permanent backlight bleeding issues. I would recommend TV with local dimming for anything so large.

    • I have an 85inch which is about 3m away and it's not too big at all. The only time it feels slightly too big is when I play high attention games like FPS or fifa.

  • $10 off with good guys price beat: https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/samsung-65-inches-ls03b-4k-th…

I was thinking of replacing my 55" 12 year old sony with this for primary tv, is it worth it? or not the best picture quality? I have read its not that good, but haven't spent enough time really paying attention in store..

  • +1

Can't add that soundbar together - "Sorry, this item is unavailable with your selected delivery option. Please remove it or try changing your delivery method." Pft

    • I had this once when I bought a frame tv with a frame bezel as add on. Issue was that even though I chose delivery, the local store had no stock of the bezel so the whole order threw that same error you got. So dumb. Spoke to agent on chat and Trick for me was to change bezel to a diff colour and it worked. Probably can’t do that with soundbar but try speak to chat agent?

      • Cant even order the TV by iteslf without any add ons. No agent awake and online.. Probably playing games on display stock as we speak

  • Only available in a couple of stores in the middle of nowhere in Vic and no delivery

    • +1

Just tried ordering and no delivery. There is no stock either in QLD which I confirmed via online chat.

The cart crashes when I attempt to bundle the following:
      TV
      Soundbar
      Extended Warranty

What a gee up. Taking screenshots of this for them to explain why I can't order a product on a live chat tomorrow. I was told this product price only lasts for tonight as well. Make sure you take screenshots or video of it.

      • There is stock in Toowoomba. I just bought and picking up from Bundall too. Def stock in Qld

        • I think Toowoomba was the only store and the cart won't allow delivery as an option. Very limited.

  • +1

Been holding out for the 75” for around 2k but don’t like my chances anymore

    • Same! Would jump on that in a heartbeat

    • +1

The 75 is absolutely massive. Kinda defeats the painting look imho

      • Agree! Unless you have photo wall to make it look realistic with combination of other bigger frames.

      • +1

I honestly thought the same for me. But i would say it depends on how big a blank space you got. I was in same situation as you and figured 65' or smaller to "sell" the painting look. However at the time they were out of 75 and I got it for a good price. I can tell you the 75 was perfect for me! 65 would have been too small for the wall.

  • +1

It's the normal TV viewing quality compromised in any way with it being "the frame"?

    • +1

      nope

    • Some details lost as screen is not glossy however if your room is very bright the frame is a good addition to your room. Esp if you can have it wall mounted with hidden wires.

  • +2

    How is it for gaming?

    • +1

If you want a gaming panel, go for TCL, very low input lag and costs less.

      • Is there a particular TCL that is recommended for this? I use my 65 as a 4k PC monitor full time, and the reviews I've read in the past don't really cover full-time "gaming mode" use. I'd ideally like something that looks good in gaming mode without all of the tricky stuff enabled.

        • +3

I have the TCL 835 miniLED 65 inch, it's a workhorse, I use it for editing and it's accurate.
It's not as good as the OLED next to it for gaming BUT the fear of burn in for long periods is not there.
845 is what I would recommend but it's far too expensive. I paid $1200 bnib from JB for my 835.
It has some idiosyncrasies, you need to enable game mode to get some functions working, not as easy as 1,2,3.
For 1200 I wont complain as it is far the best gaming panel I have had in that price range.
I paid 2600 for my OLED, not really out of pocket as aftermarket warranties paid for the TV.
If you didn't want the miniLED variant, I guess the 745 would suffice, I do not use active back lighting when gaming nor PC work, all processing is turned off to reduce any possible input lag.

I have been reading that the 845 suffers from judder issues on Reddit, you can get the 745 from JB for 1388.

The issue is people are saying there is 2 diff processors in the 745 vs 845, as there is X1 and X2 variants.
Judder should only be an issue for low FPS material, like movies, for 144HZ content, it shouldn't be of concern.

I do not want to steer you into a panel that you might not end up liking, I know the Hisense range last year, we were getting subpar to what the US were getting, same model numbers but IPS panels vs VA.
1 thing I will advise is, TCL helpdesk is woeful, you need to speak to JB and make sure they will handle any warranty issues, when I spoke to them, they said they would as they're aware of TCL's lack of warranty assistance.

    • +1

It’s great has hdmi 2.1 and VRR. Also low input lag.

    • it's perfect for gaming. I have 2021 65" version of this, it has HDMI 2.1, VRR, low input lag, fast response, it's super good with Xbox Series X

  • Terrible for energy consumption!

    • 4* ??

      • +1

The star rating is based on the running of it, not on the "picture mode".
It takes around 30% of the power that running the TV does, but will likely be on for many more hours.

        • +1

I'm pretty sure it has a sensor so the art mode turns off when you are not in the room.

    • +4

It's a very efficient TV. 154W in typical usage. If it's dropping to under 50W in picture mode that's fantastic. You'll run it for a few years for the cost of a 65" canvas print.

      • +3

Fair call actually, not really fair to compare it with the price of a blank wall.

  • +2

where does it say free installation?

    • +1

It doesnt from what i can see

      • the title says bonus installation

        • I mean on the JB website i cant see that either. Cant install it if they dont even deliver it.

      • +1

but where does it say free?

  • Been waiting for a price drop on this, thanks!

  • -4

    largest bezels available in 2024

    • +2

I hope you are joking, it has big bezel on purpose to look like an art frame, you can even buy different colour bezels like wood. The white mounting is just an image and you can turn it off art mode.

  • Where are people buying the frames for this? None included afaik

    • I bought mine last year from Samsung directly. Took 2 weeks.

    • My sister DIY'd it. Bought picture frames and cut them herself.

  • +3

"Bonus installation" will cost an extra $299.00

  • +3

installation not included just confirmed via chat

    • Sorry for the confusion.

  • Just checked Hobart no shipping available!

  • Is that soundbar any good? I understand I will never get the audio quality with a soundbar compared to proper speakers / sub, and that is fine for me. Will a soundbar need to be turned on and off independantly of tv or are they controlled well with CEC so i wont need to worry yet another remote?

  • +5

No delivery in Victoria. No C&C in Victoria.

In any case, there is no "bonus" delivery, nor "bonus" installation unless you pay.

The deal seems all kinds of incorrect.

    • Rough you got negged for pointing out the facts

    • It was still a good deal regardless of the mistakes in the post, and buying it from goodguys is still a good deal. The pricing has been $2k+ for the last few months.

  • +1

If anyone has a rewards gateway smartspending account (typically though your company) you can take a further 5% off the price of a jbhifi virtual gift card, bringing the price (with soundbar) to $1366.29

  • Any luck going in store and placing an order?

  • I just bought this for $1,949.25 through EEP 2 weeks ago. :( Is there any way of claiming the price difference if it was that recent? By the way, for those who have Samsung EEP, it is currently listed for $1,274.15 but is on preorder.

    • Did you receive it? Can't you cancel and order again at the new price.

5% off via app too. Came down to $1210

      • Yep, and already mounted on the wall too :(

        • That's speedy delivery for an order made 2 weeks ago, keep hearing Samsung timing is horrebdous!

Last option would be your credit card if it covers price drops 🤞

          • +1

@rwandrall: Sorry, I made the order 25/12/2023 and delivered on 02/01/2024 (about 2 weeks ago). Still pretty fast given the rumors I've heard.

      • How did you get access to the EEP through the app? I can only see Samsung education in the drop down.

        • You have to go to the menu on bottom right and change it to EPP there

PS: my bad I confused edu and EPP. There's no EPP option from the app according to other commenters

  • +2

Great deal - the 2024 update to the Frame has almost no changes based on Samsungs CES presentation. They decreased the refresh rate from 120hz to 60hz in Art mode to save 10% power on average per year…… That's the only change for 2024. So this is a great deal!

    • +1

I just bought it for $1274 all in using the Samsung Employee discount on the Samsung site instead of JB. Absolute steal for this TV.

    • Also mentioned for 2024 model:

Pantone Art Validated colours - some sort of calibration for art colour accuracy

Curator Picks - a Netflix-like revolving selection of artwork

There may be more differences, we won't know until it's released and reviews are out.

    • +4

The reduction in frame rate could easily be achieved via firmware update anyway.

      • +1

Exactly - but they won't update the firmware to make Art mode in 60Hz for older models because it's a point of difference for the 'new' 2024 model.

        • They often do this kind of stuff silently about 6 to 12 months in

  • got my 65" 2021 version from Samsung directly, a year ago, for $930 after all loyalty discounts applied.. best TV I ever had, and art mode is awesome.

you can load your own pictures for art mode from USB flash drive, easily (well, relatively). you can download free art from things like USEUM

  • Can this be scheduled to turn off completely at night?

What does the display look like when completely powered down?

    • +1

Yes it can also be powered completely off, looks like a typical black screen (with a more matte finish) when off.

In theory it's designed so you press the power button to put into standby, which enables art mode and the motion sensor will turn it completely off if noting is detected for a period of time, and then back on again if motion is detected again. The idea being that when you're watching tv, it's a tv, when you're in the room but not watching, it's a picture frame, and if nobody is around it powers completely off. Like everything else YMMV as to how well the automation part works.

  • also its cheaper on education website

    • Currently OOS unfortunately.

      • backorder delivered by 30th

  • Great deal for the TV, but I haven't found the bezels available (other than Red @ JB).

  • +1

It's on pre-order for $1274.15 delivered on Samsung Education store. Further 10% off with first app use.

    • How do I place an order? It only shows “Get stock alert” for me.

    • Literally had it in my cart and go to order and then tells me my cart is empty and its not on the store now. fml

  • Can anyone recommend a reliable installer based in Victoria that could mount this TV with a media boxed recessed above a gas fireplace?

  • +2

Would JB Hi-Fi do a price match with Appliance Central for this tv?

    https://www.appliancecentral.com.au/qa65ls03bawxxy-samsung-6…

    • Wow even cheaper, worth asking all the other places that stock the tv

For a sec I thought you were looking at an older model because of the picture

      • +4

Yep. I shall try to do a price match via JB Hifi Live Chat at 9am and see how it goes.

edit: worked, JB Hifi price matching to $1365 - https://shottr.cc/s/SXK7/SCR-20240119-dogp.png

edit2: Okay so price matched with Appliance central, then asked chat to put the 15% soundbar deal discount on top of the price matched price - https://shottr.cc/s/S9S2/SCR-20240119-e25p.png

        • niiiiice

I was thinking about trying the same thing with the 15% off

        • This is a steal. I’m going to ask the good guys to price match your receipt. Do you have an actual receipt you can DM me? Thanks heaps.

          • @corgicorgi: The 65" is OOS now at JB. Could you please DM me the receipt as well? TIA!

            • @Ximomo: Can price match with the Good Guys, they will also beat the 1365 price, go through live chat or call in

If youre doing delivery than lots of retailers are now doing $1365; Stan Cash, Billy Guyatts, etc..

              • +1

@Teal: Yeap, i rang them. They will either price match/beat or do the 15% if bundle with soundbar, not both. I managed to get a quote for $1270 when bundling with sound bar - but no delivery. @dishkiaon got an awesome deal!

                • +1

@Ximomo: yeh from what I've been told JB fixed that sometime after @dishkiaon managed to snag that deal, system itself now doesn't allow it.

1270 with soundbar for the 55"?

                  • @Teal: $1270 for the 65" and $1100 for a Q990C - it's pretty good. Q990c is $1189 on Samsung EPP and 65" for $1274.

Shopback is doing 4% cashback as well whereas giftcards are 2.5%

                    • +1

@Ximomo: Ok I showed them the snip done by dishkihon and got the good guys to refund me another $110 to make it $1160 for tv without sound bar. I’ll wait until there is a 10% giftcard deal for good guys (anyone knows any) and will get refund and pay with gift cards for another 10%
