  • Thanks OP. Bought 256gb version which is around $190 AUD after discounts.

    • How did you do that? I can only seem to get the 128GB at that price.

      • Try to select 256gb and apply all the coupons. I was able to get 256gb model down to USD $126.39.

        • I'm getting $225AUD total inc GST for 256gb model.

        • No way you are getting that for the 256GB model without some store credit or something else. The two codes combined take off USD40 and then you have to add 10% GST.

Did you get a new user welcome or something?

          • @Punkboy: Shows as $121.99 USD for me at checkout.

            • @CheapGit: Isn't that the 128gb model?

              • +1

@ritzaus: Luckily I wasn't buying one, i had selected 256gb model must have changed when tried different codes without realising.

          • @Punkboy: There wasn't any new user code that I applied. I just double checked my invoice and it surely is 256gb model.

  • Would this be the best 8 inch tablet available?

    • +3

I had the same question. Based on previous OZBargain posts - yes it seems to be based on people's comments (except iPad mini of course). I just bit the bullet and purchased one as I was on the lookout for a cheap <9 inch Android tablet and the Samsung Tab A9 hasn't released in Aus so I think this is the best we can get at present. From what I've read the speaker is garbage though but it doesn't bother me.

      • we bought one for our field service tech at work and he seems to like it.

Price/performance maybe.. but not the best 8inch tablet available.

The Lenovo Y700 2023 would take that title I feel

Lenovo y700 2023 price is quite high. This mini pro is best bang for buck one can get for smaller size tablets I think

    Mono speaker đŸª¦

  • Any deal for iPlay 50 Pro or cheap 10"+ full HD tablet?

  • My wife has this tab.she wanted something lighter than ipad pro to watch in bed.
2 minor issues we may have a lemon.
Touch sometimes doesnt register till reboot.
Colours are a bit off, like turning hdr on on a display that doesnt support hdr.

    • Not responding to touch is a minnor issue? That would be a deal breaker for me.

Touch is a pretty serious issue dude.

I have the first iPlay 50 Mini (non-Pro.. non-NFE) … and the touchscreen stops working randomly… sometimes every few minutes !
The only way to get it going again is to put the device to sleep and wake up it up again.

And its a COMMON issue too … have a look at the comments section here…
      https://www.alldocube.com/en/firmware/alldocube-iplay50minit…
Where practically every single comment is about the touch issue !

From what I can gather… it appears to be a hardware fault … as even loading the oldest firmwares (which worked fine for the first few months) doesnt help.
And no.. none of the latest firmwares help either :(

      • In addition to my iPlay 50 Mini… i also have a iPlay 40H… which for the most part has been pretty good.
Its been very stable, battery life is good, speakers are excellent.
However the LCD had started ghosting (almost like burn-in on old CRTs) after about 6months. The ghosting does go away after you put the device to sleep for a few hours.
And its had issues with Mesh WiFi since day one.

They do offer firmware updates, but theyre always a mystery as they dont publish whats fixed/changed.
AllDoCube offer no support whatsoever, and their partner stores are just as unhelpful, so good luck trying to get a refund/repair.

At the end of the day, I dont think I'll buy another AllDoCube again.
