How can we unlock to use other network providers

    • +1

The fee to unlock your phone depends on how long you've had a Telstra plan: Under 6 months – $80 unlock fee. 6 months or more, but under 2 years – $25 unlock fee. 2 years or more – Unlock your Telstra phone for free.

      from Google

      • surely enterprising long term telstra users slash sufferers have a 'potential business opportunity'

  • Reviews seems to imply that if you're on Telstra network users like Aldi or Boost, you'll be fine using Telstra locked phones like this - whcih might assist some.

  • G54 unlocked was 190ish awhile ago

This is true but wasn't it a very limited stock Ebay Plus promo (IIRC)? Might be wrong but if so thats different to it being that price as a 'normal' sale.

      • -2

yes but once the bar is set low, psychologically, i cant justify paying more than the ATL or in this case, a much inferior, locked phone for $50 less than the ATL of G54

        • +1

Maybe for you and others, but for a big amount who are already using Telstra and/or Boost

mobile (possibly Aldi but not sure if Telstra locked phones work for Aldi mobile,

used to but think that changed), this is a good current saving and great value for $.

@ozhunter68: FYI Aldi Mobile's own FAQ states that you can:
            https://www.aldimobile.com.au/blogs/using-and-managing-your-…

Can I use my ALDImobile SIM in a Telstra mobile phone?

To take advantage of 4G for data/MMS/SMS, ensure your device is compatible with 700, 900*, 1800, 2100*, 2600* MHz frequencies.
            *supported in limited locations only.

IIRC there's a band or so that Aldi Mobile customers do NOT get but Boost customers do - but it would be rare this would impact folks providing ther handset had access to other available bands.

@Daniel Plainview: Thanks for the verified up to date official info. These things often change over time, so good to know for me and others. Still be aware if you buy an older Telstra Prepaid phone model, as I still read people buying Telstra Prepaid phones and Not working on Also (most likely older models before that change).

  • does this work on boost/aldi mobile?

    • Yes

  • Does Telstra locked version G53 have esim? Or single nano sim?

    • I doubt it , look it up

      • Couldn’t find any information on google

    • Looks like dual SIM.

      Click on About This Item/Quantity

      • Usually Prepaid phones are not dual sim, but not sure on this one.

  • I'm looking for a cheap phone that's capable of doing some gaming, would this be a good pick up or are there better options?
    (Somewhat heavy games like Genshin)

    • Heavy games & cheap phone aren't a great combo or one thats easy to fill. I'd suggest a 2nd hand older flagship model is your best bet on a budget.
