For those who swear by ASUS. This is an amazing deal and the one for those who don’t wana spend a fortune on a laptop.

After some light research on laptops under $1k my understanding is this ASUS screen is only 250nits. However vs the Acer swift go (400nits) you got $997 vs $835. 15.6” vs 14” in screen size. Both are very good just depends on what you would be using it for. For your convenience the Acer I was also considering was:

    It has 8GB onboard and 8GB module. You should be able to replace the module with a higher capacity if you need more

      or
      Memory Max Up to: 64GB

      So, either the specs are wrong, or 16gb is the limit.

        16GB is the cover-our-ass limit specified by ASUS

        They allow you to install a larger capacity SODIMM to build a 24GB or 40GB config but do not support or provide warranty for it

        This is why ASUS remains a B tier laptop OEM - Lenovo tell you the recommended max because they actually test different module sizes and brands

  Acer is good on paper, though reading reviews the quality is not so good. I am still waiting for OLED zenbook. There was a deal recently for 1132$, but missed that one.

    Ok. The reviews on the swift oled are good though. The keyboard is a bit meh but you can use an external kb
