  • Great price.

  • Good find.

  • +1

We have this one, it’s an awesome unit.

  • Had this for years, even though the housing is a bit frail, I can't recommend it enough.

  • Does the code work on hair dryers?

    • +1
    • +2

Nope, code will only work on featured item listed here

    • The Supersonic Origin works with this code - see Nathw's comment. It only has one 1 standard attachment though.

  • +1

damn bought the v8 just weeks ago for $3xx should have waited

    • +7

      That sucks

      • +7

        Taken to the cleaners

  • Does anyone know if this one includes the wall mounted storage kit?

    • Yes. Wall mounted Doc included.

    • Only the Drop-in Dock

    • Yes, the Doc included in the box. : )
I have this exact same model

  • bought 1! thanks OP

  • Thanks, bought one too. Was going to buy V8, however this one seems much better option

  • How is the performance of this unit when cleaning several rooms with the carpet? Thanks

  • Anyone know how this one goes with long golden retriever hair?

    • +1

RTINGS review rates it pretty highly for pet hair.

  • Dyson are rubbish overpriced vaccum cleaners. My $400 Kogan 'Dreame' cordless vacuum has stronger suction power, a longer lasting battery, nicer display, more efficient and easier to clean filters and hasn't had parts of the vacuum die out like half my family members' overpriced Dysons.

    • +11

I have an older Dreame stick vac and have owned a few Dyson, including this model. My experience is the opposite to yours.

      • Head on mine broke after 2 years, one month out of warranty due to standard fault, do you think I could get a replacement? Hah, motor is noisey and barely sucks now, friend has the same issue motor got noisy and then just imploded on itself.

If I have to pay double the amount to get double the time then so be it.

        • Exercise your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. My V11 motor died recently and I got it replaced by Dyson for free. It was already out of manufacturers warranty for about 2 years.

          • @Ebaygiftcards: Yeah sent an email with all details off to ACCC never heard back, that was the start of this year so it'll be a win for xiaomi in the short term but hell will i bitch about them till the day comes!

            • +1

@TUT0R: You contact the retailer or manufacturer. Not ACCC.

              • @Ebaygiftcards: Been through that for 2 months with the retailer, until ultimately their solution was its out of warranty and we don't make that product anymore, then stopped communication…Not much else to do after that.

                • @TUT0R: Who was the retailer?

                  • @Ebaygiftcards: Dreame Directly.

                    • @TUT0R: Ah right, it’s going to be extremely challenging.

                      • @Ebaygiftcards: Haha exactly, three months of stuffing around I just gave up, lesson learnt sometimes paying double the price just means you'll at least get problems fixed.

      • I have 2 Dyson stick vacuums, and batteries are just garbage. I have to replace them so often it's not funny. On the plus side, batteries are easy to buy and replace, and they're not expensive

    • +1

I got a Dyson DC44 for $300 in 2014. I haven't replaced anything on it. It still works fine.

Can't comment on the performance compared to others, I'd have to find a site that did actual real comparison testing - but I've had no issues with it at least.

      • +1

I've had a Dreame T30 for approx. 18mths and whilst the motor and battery are in great health, I've gone through 2 motorised heads in that time and now the connection between through the shaft to the motorhead has broken yet again. I couldn't be more unimpressed with the ownership experience tbh. Support has been terrible and replacement parts are expensive and take a long time to arrive. It's an almost product for me, beautifully packaged and the nice touches such as an lcd, auto trigger and full complement of attachments are all present. However, the build quality of key components just isn't up to scratch for multiple surfaces imo. I'm looking forward using this V10 and seeing how it holds up.

        • Dyson aftermarket spare parts are cheaper and easier to find than other vacuum brands.

      • +2

I call bullshit or either you hardly use it. I have the DC45 and had to replace my battery twice (approximately every 3-4 years).

        • We had a dc35 for at least 8-10 yrs (it's been so long can't even remember) paid around $250 from ozbargain special lol!

My mother uses it at least once every 2-3 days and the battery still holds about 6-8 mins charge today! Never replaced!

She had it always plugged in after use, so not sure if that helped

It's what converted me to a dyson believer, overpriced but worth it imo!

    • Go on Youtube and look at all the stick vacuum testing videos, Dyson routinely come out on top.

Get educated rather than relying on your own personal bias and anecdotes.

      • -1

Real world experience vs Dyson sponsored YT reviews, who needs to get educated here?

    • +7

I've owned a few Dysons. Rubbish no, overrated absolutely. The iphone of vacuums.

    • +1

Guessing you have hard floors only. In which case, even the basic dyson series would have enough suction for your purposes.

Dyson do have some part failures, in particular the trigger is a plastic piece of crap and eventually breaks. Replacing it isn't easy although I have done it. The battery isn't capable of even 30 seconds of turbo after a year of light use either. The barrel can crack but a bit of tape fixed that easily and it's still going years later.

For any carpeted house, v10 is the minimum (speaking as a v8 and v10 owner)

However, I do agree the price of a dyson is in iphone territory. Although Dyson frankly probably do more R&D than apple as the iphone is mature enough to only get tweaks. Thankfully I've only spent $850 in total for both a v8 and v10 due to ebay plus limited stock deals (sold the v8 for approx what I paid for it).

      • Nope, mostly carpet and the Dreame pulls through without issue. Had to replace the battery on mom's Dyson for having the same issue with it not lasting at all.

      • +1

Yeh I’m on my third trigger-related issue in the first year of purchase of the v10+… hardly confidence inspiring. See how we go from here. Missus already complains about the battery life on boost setting for carpets

Other thing is design doesn’t allow going very flat to the ground to get under low things very well.

    • +1

You do you, but I'd never buy some cheap Kogan landfill.

      • +1

Instead purchase overpriced Dyson landfill? Sounds like a plan

  • +7

I've had one for a few years now. Paid $849.
It's ok, but nothing amazing to be honest.

We bought a cheap $200 cordless Shark from Costco for upstairs, as we couldn't be bothered taking it up and down all the time, and to be honest that does just as good of a job as the V10.
It doesn't have the accessories like the Dyson though.

$560 is about what this thing is worth, anyone believing these are worth the $1300 price tag is a dumbass.

    • +4

No one pays $1300 for these

      • Things have been changed after dyson's technology has been reverse-engineered. Now the customer can pay much less to get the similar type of vacuum.

        • +4

Pretty sad really. You can't make something great without being ripped off.

      • +8

You will be surprised, many paid in store like jbhifi Binglee etc without knowledge of ozbargain or ebay

  • +1

Still waiting for the v11 for 580 bucks deal to come again.

    • Yeah, at that price it was real good 😊

  • do i have to signup for ebay plus to buy?

  • How does this compare to Gen Detect?

  • +1

    Ehh, my V6 still works.

    • V10 has a design change from V6, V7, V8, so it is a significant step up.

  • Thinking to buy this for my parents and need to take it overseas.
Does anyone know the dimensions for the package?
And, can we take this in the flight (checked baggage), due to the restrictions on Li-ion battery?

    • I took one many years ago as a carry-on, no problem at all.

  • We have a V10 for exactly 4 years, this year changed a new battery and new charger, then the mechanism that retains the canister broke. The vacuum still works, but when emptying the canister needs to be extra careful or the whole thing falls out.

Considering we have a V10 floor dock, 2 practically new batteries and a charger, a bit tempted to get another V10. But I'm also thinking about a Gen5detect, which is $400+ more than this deal.

We had a V7 for 2 years before the V10, V10 is a significant improvement. I wonder is Gen5detect a generational leap from the V10?

    • Why did the mechanism break? Your fault or design issue? Claim warranty?

      • +1

It has been 3+ years when that happened, so wouldn't covered under warranty.

"Broke" is probably the wrong word, nothing is actually broken as far as I can tell, it's just that the mechanism doesn't work like before.

There's a red tab/switch to operate the canister, on first push it would protrude the canister and open the lid for dumping, continuing pushing it would slide the canister out for cleaning. On ours the lid doesn't open on first push, we have to push it hard, which causes the whole canister to slide out.

Maybe just material fatigue after all these year.

  • Does this un tangle long hair? Missus sheds a lot and tangles our current vacuum head which is a pain to fix

    • No, only V11 have the combs on the brush head.

    • I use scissors and cut the hair, it's not too bad, but I didn't know there was something that stopped it wrapping up?

      • yea not sure with dyson but happens on my electrolux. Cutting hair in the middle is easy, it's the sides that are hard to cut and i can't do it without removing the whole section which requires me to unscrew the motor head…

        • Ahh right, yeah I unscrew and take out the spinning part of the head when I cut it. Just a coin to unscrew, not hard but unfortunately extra steps.

  • Ebay Tuesday deals > Boxing Day deals

    • +9

      But today is Wednesday.

  • Tks Op, bought one to replace current one.

  • +1

Have no idea about stick vacuums, but anyone here with knowledge whether this or Samsung Jet 90 Complete for $549?

    • Honestly, stick with Dyson.

  • +1

For any carpeted house, v10 is the minimum (speaking as a v8 and v10 owner)

  • Thanks! Got one. Was hoping for the V11 at a decent price but this should do the job.

  • Code is not working for me.

    • +2

appears to be an issue with the code as it’s currently not working on any of the featured deals.

will flag this to eBay and will update here once it’s live again.

      • What are the chances eBay will fix the code?

        • second this question. I'm interested in buying one as i missed out but don't want to buy something else and then this comes back on special.

        • +2

update: budget’s been exhausted and deals for this week have been cancelled

  • Code no longer available, just missed it at checkout (DAS20 does not work) :-(.

  • +1

Shows $50 off $697 to me.

  • Bloody missed out on this for my mum
Hoping the V11 deal comes back

  • DAS20 now expire $50 voucher replacement, now the same price as Catch & the GG.

  • I have a viomi A9 - perfectly fine on the floorboards and tiles but trash for the carpet and on pet hair (as well as very average battery).

How does this compare? Is tangling a problem on these?

  • How is this compare to V8? Not sure if should I spend $200 more.

    • two generations so i think 200 is cheap to pay

    • depends on the needs. i still using my v6 paid 276 like 7 years ago, but only use it for my room.

but for someone need to clean a lot more and more run time, and can afford it, i think it is good buy. still expensive, but good product.

    • Unless you've got like major dog hair and dirty floors, this won't be any better at picking up dust than the v8.

  • Missed…

  • I need a Dyson - 2 small rooms carpet only. Any thoughts on what to get via the Dyson website Boxing Day sale?

    • A V8 should be enough for you. Sub $400.

    • you dont need a dyson. get any other brand lg, xiaomi, samsung, kogan? and it's the same stuff for a fraction of the cost

  • Pretty cool looking,
Price after the coupon expired $647 I wonder if that's worth it

  • +2

My order is yet to ship… Was this listed as express delivery?

    • +1

Just standard I think. Mine hasn't shipped either.

  • +2

Same, order not shipped yet. Quite surprised that it wasn't express delivery as we required eBay Plus for the discount didn't we?

    • +1

Mine just shipped today - standard shipping by the looks though
