30x Lorastyne (Loratadine 10mg, Expires End August 2024) $5.99 Delivered @ PharmacySavings

take2

Hi Ozbargainers,

Every now and again I'm foolish enough to upset a client and get into an email war over pennies, this week I seem to have found myself in trouble with someone over Lorastyne 30's which expire at the end of August. I'm talking name calling, paypal chargebacks, ACCC reports yada yada yada alleged fraud on my behalf due to a failure to disclose this item has an expiry date of 8.5 months …

Anyway since different people seem to have different interpretations of what "short dated" actually is and life is too short I think I'll clear the balance of this line and save myself further head ache on this product. Please note that Australia Post is currently running at absolute SNAIL speed, so delivery via standard envelope post is REALLY slow at the moment - between 10+ working days to some parts of the country is the norm, please be patient with deliveries or select a trackable postage method if you are in a rush.

Any Ozbargainers out there worried about exp dating of products, please PM me before buying, happy to answer PM's from Ozbargainers, please try not to call the store for exp dates as our duty Pharmacists are getting cranky with me.

  • Hi OP,
I want to order x2 boxes.
Using take2 code makes final price $13.98 ie $1 off per box instead of $2 off per box.

I do hope this is a bad attempt at a joke. This seller is probably one of the most honest on OzB and always aims for full disclosure in posts, and in rare cases where it’s missed they’ll be happy to clarify in comments and make updates to the post where warranted.

Happy to be taken to task for slow posting, but as I say to many who complain - I generally get all items out within 24 hours but I can't control the speed of Australia Post once the item hits the post box.

In South Aust, Australia Post doesn't even have a mail collection on Sundays at all, so if an item hits my local post box after 12noon on Friday - it doesn't actually get collected until just before noon on Monday, so say the Ozbargain client buys on a Thursday night and I am smashed with orders - the item may not go until Friday after noon, so it then sits in the post box all weekend - then its generally 4-5 working days to get to its destination, which may or may not have daily letter deliveries - if it gets to its destination mail center on a Friday - then it might sit in the distribution center until the next MONDAY for delivery - this is why many deliveries are all of 10 working days.

EDIT: Should add that North Western Sydney seems to be the slowest (based on complaints) happy to hear from people who agree or disagree.

      • @HamBoi69 Any reason AusPost doesn’t do Sunday mail collection in SA?

        • Hi and thanks for the tag. Based off what @jason101 has said, I’m assuming you’re referring to the red street letter boxes. If this is the case, they are usually never collected on a Sunday. And based off of the “noon” time of collection I’d assume this would be a remote area, which would in fact not have weekend mail collection at all.

Of course this is purely based off what has been said and I am happy to offer any support I can.

Don’t need it but came to say don’t get beaten up . Haters gonna hate . You are the first shop that comes to mind when I look for hayfever & generic brand medicine! 😌

      • What’s got your panties all in a twist with this seller? Are you the one they said degenerated into name calling and threatening to report to the ACCC?

        • got your panties all in a twist with this seller?

A few Ozbargainers are buying multiple boxes +/- 100tabs = you might be better off with this older deal, stock still available at original post pricing: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/812347

Thanks for the awesome deals. Any Fex and Lora combo deal? Most your deals seem to be Fex and Citrezine combo.

  • Given the varied interpretations of "short-dated," could you clarify what is the official definition?

  • Is there any issue with taking anti histamines post their expiry date? How long after would you assume they're still effective?

  • Any cold and flu day and night deals please

  • What is it and what does it do. Considering buying some and trying it to check if it meets my needs and cures all my issues.

Loratadine is a non-prescription antihistamine that’s generally used to provide symptomatic relief for sufferers of hayfever or minor allergic reactions. Principally: runny nose, itchy/watery eyes, and mild skin irritations. Here is some light reading at Wikipedia. And, before you ask, Fexofenadine and Ceterizine are other popular non-prescription antihistamines that have similar effects, but are different active ingredients.

Taking one for an extended period can sometimes lead to a resistance so it loses effectiveness. Thus, many people with really bad hay fever like to have all three on hand and cycle through them during a season. However, some people (e.g. myself) find one works well and just stick with that.

  • Hi jason. Im interested in buying some bulk medication and storing it long term. How do i find out which medications are less effective but not dangerous to take after their expiry VS which medications become dangerous?

  • Damn that really sucks. August is still ages away. I have medicine (in pill form) sitting around long expired that still works fine, happy to use. Not sure why people treat the date like its a BB date on fresh food, but even then I've had milk 1 week past its BB date and still fine, my fridge is cold. These days i freeze excess milk way before BB though.

The study done by the US military on decades' old pills comes to mind. Spoiler alert: they were fine.

I'm guessing it'a like honey in australia. Honey gets a BB date slapped on it but any good honey seller will tell you that it never expires.

  • Just wanted to give you a huge thanks for the deal. Don't let the haters get you down mate,
