It's that time of the month where AliExpress have their monthly automatic discount sale on Choice products with the banner. These discounts are applied automatically and stack with AliExpress and Seller coupon codes.

Choice Products are shipped directly from the AliExpress warehouse and typically arrive within 2 weeks. If the delivery exceeds 14 business days you're able to claim a US$1 coupon and typically a full refund after 30 days. Most of my recent Choice order have arrived in 7 business days.

The next AliExpress sitewide sale will likely be in 2 weeks.

      You ok?

      • I’m ok luckily, my computer not so much it didn’t seem to like the burrito very much

    • Dude, you got a burrito?! Sweet!

    • I think you ordered that burrito.

      • Not going to lie starting to doubt myself

      • It's a lie, biosecurity measures at customs would have returned it to sender.

        • +1

Customs would have said that, but we both know they would have eaten it

  • ooooo tyty op! finally can get some stuff on aliexpress that i keep on forgetting about lol

Anyone worked out a way to search just choice sellers? I know there's a banner but Ali's search algorithm is massively broad and I don't need a bikini when searching for fishing lures.

    • I find the recommendations immediate and aggressive. e.g. accidentally tap on a bikini and you'll start seeing bikinis until search or view other things and you'll keep seeing bikinis until the end of time

  • what time does this kick off later today?

    • +1

Start times on deals are just below the description. 6pm

      • Thanks @Clear, My Monday morning eyes obviously haven't opened up properly yet

  • Since choice stuff is sent from the aliexpress warehouse would you reckon its safe to buy from any seller? I'm looking at a gaming device but the factory store has it sold out. :/

    • yes, use paypal for extra protection

  • My car phone charger blew up today and I just missed the Baseus 100W ebay deals so hopefully can find something here

    • what was it?

  • +1

Sorry I screwed up the timezone. Starts 7pm

  • How do you get the discount , is it only eligible on certain choice products ?

    • +1

Eligible Choice products will have this banner. Factory Direct Collected are normally excluded, while their other store Cutesliving includes more products.

  • how long is everyone waiting for Aliexpress orders recently?

been waiting 3 weeks and tracking hasn't progressed at all. gauge shows position as between china and australia.
estimate delivery date keeps getting extended and extended.

    • just received an item monday with free 12 day delivery….was on schedule and made it by due date

    • I ordered a bunch of stuff and it really does vary massively unless you get the ones with the 14 day guarantee. Can be months for some things.

      • I discovered I am not the only one. on r/Aliexpress there are more than a couple recent posts explaining the same problem.
this is basically what I am seeing, stuck at this stage for 3 weeks and all other users posting stuck at this point for 10+ days.

massive singles day/black friday/christmas backlog? I dunno. I also heard somewhere shipping is jam packed (they are filling every single container).

        • Does 17track.net give you more accurate information? For one of my orders AliExpress tracking said it failed customs clearance 3 days ago and 17track shows that it has cleared and arrived at the local centre for delivery. I'm expecting it tomorrow.

          • @Clear: I just used 17track. no additional actual tracking info given, seems to be identical to cainao. (just two tracking processes, the latest one being 3 weeks ago)

BUT I learned something from 17track that Cainao didn't show. which is the first step of tracking shows as "SingaporePost". so looks like I was right, seller probably used the cheapest and slowest shipping method. so I guess it's on a boat somewhere in the ocean?

          • @Clear: I had one say it failed customs on ali recently and then it just showed up fine less than a week later without them ever saying what had happened.

          • @Clear: I did some more digging since it seems like I am not the only one experiencing the delay.

from a quick search here some data from ceicdata.com which I assume is accurate data.

"Port Congestion: Calls: Singapore: Dry Bulk data was reported at 30.000 Unit in 07 Nov 2023. This records an increase from the previous number of 4.000 Unit for 31 Oct 2023. Port Congestion: Calls: Singapore: Dry Bulk data is updated weekly, averaging 11.000 Unit from Feb 2022 to 07 Nov 2023, with 92 observations."

I'm assuming "dry bulk" refers to containers of dry goods and it's currently higher than the 30,000 unit 07/11 data. beginning of december now so maybe 35,000 to 40,000 which would be 10x what it was before in october. average is 11,000 unit as it says at the end.

so containers piling up waiting to be put on ships? well now I know I can expect to wait weeks.

    • In the same boat with some of my choice orders ordered back on the second week of November where the guaranteed 14 days delivery has already lapsed… one order from a store got delivered with missing items. My first time experiencing this with Ali… perhaps I need to give them more time and just completely ignore their 14 days guarantee 😮‍💨

      • yeah honestly the last time this happened for me was the first few shops I ever did on Ali and during the middle of covid. delivery would take 1+ months that was normal. sometimes it would be 2 months and it would just randomly show up on your doorstep.

but since then I swear things really picked up, the last few orders in the past year were coming in under 1-2 weeks regardless of seller/choice item etc. someone told me "air shipping got cheaper for small packages" or something similar sorry I can't remember exactly what they said. so I think that had something to do with it.

I'm thinking nothing much has changed, other than maybe sellers are choosing to go with slow shipping (without proper tracking - I always believe no tracking parcels get this automated tracking generation estimate just so it looks good) to save every drop of shipping costs. and together with recent mass orders (BF/Xmas etc), their warehouses could literally be like those "wish warehouse photos" where packages are just stacked like garbage on one side until it hits the roof and the sorting people are climbing up that mountain processing as many as they can every day.

        • "air shipping got cheaper for small packages"

AliExpress banned stores from using unregistered/untracked postage, so the slow af couriers like China Post, Singapore Post and PostNL disappeared, though some smaller stores may slip through the cracks and use them.

          • @Clear: thanks for correcting my terrible memory.

funny thing is I think my current order is coming with the untracked slow boat method.

any reason theyre still charging twice the amount of GST tax theyre allowed to collect through fake invoicing on certain products/sales??

    anyone looking into that???

    • You should report it.

        i have….via a support ticket on the site <crickets>
        many others have too…..<crickets>

        • +4

I meant the ATO ;) I spoke to an AliExpress manager at length about it and she acknowledged that there's a bug with SuperDeals and other AliExpress promotions where it applies tax to the full price and not the discounted price. Getting someone high up in support to actually resolve it is next to impossible.
