Wow this is good value, especially for non-Acer

    • +2

      agree.
Though it is Zen 3+ not Zen 4

      • +1

Ah okay. Is there a Zen 4 version around same price OP?

  • +1

$49 to upgrade to 1tb is great but wish could upgrade to 7640/7840 and would pay extra for this. Touchscreen is nice and build quality better than Acer imo. So close..

    • Does anyone know if the M.2 can fit in the common 2280 form factor? Or is it strictly 2242 only

      • +1

Gen 8 won't take 2280. I was pretty annoyed as I have 2tb 2280 sitting here and was about to buy this laptop .

        • Bigger, this makes it a no brainer to have to take the $50 upgrade option

    • I have been looking for a 2-in-1 laptop with 7640/7840 but couldn't find any available locally in Australia

    Dont forget 3.3% Cashrewards.
Got this for my son in high school. Arrived yesterday. Very nice machine, and great bang for buck.

    • Don't you think it is a overkill for a high school student? Honest question. I am looking to buy one for my high school son but looking for something around $1k mark.

      • It is an overkill for normal school work. However the better part of the iGPU might mean you can save on having to buy another gaming computer if all they play is simple games. This will run games like Genshin Impact in a playable manner

Yoga and Thinkpads are the prescribed laptops by the School. He had a thinkpad for 3 years before it died.

      • This is higher spec and lower price than the minimum recommended laptop from my kid's school.

  • In the Yoga line, is the i only to indicate Intel processor? I am talking about Yoga 7 vs Yoga 7i, for example.

    • +4

      The i means intel processor

  • +1

just need a thinkpad deal for the same specs now….

    • +1

      Same I need that trackpoint

      • and a 5th year of on-site warranty

    • sadly its very hard to find a thinkpad with a decent screen they are always 45% 300nit

    • Went to a Yoga 7 after many decades of Thinkpads - might be going back after motherboard failure in 13th month.

  • 680M iGPU, performance is between the GTX 1050 Ti and GTX 1650.

    • And for those who want a 780m, it's not that much difference. The ram speed will bottleneck the 780m, and even at 7800mt, it'll only be around 12% faster

  • Thanks OP. I picked one up as it seems to meet all my needs. That website checkout process almost rivals Jetstar though. Horrible!!

  • Cheaper during black friday, $1258

Cool, I'll get in my time machine.

      • +2

hence why i didnt neg. commentary for price history

  • Does this good m? Should I go intel cpu?

    • These have better battery life, better igpu, worse single core and worse multi core performance compared to Intel cpus in this price range, if performance is an issue go for zen 4 or 13th gen Intel

      • However it needs to be clarified that 13th gen P and H series CPUs will be limited by the cooling in this form factor due to their high TDPs, so their single and multi core performance will be limited based on how much they throttle vs Zen 3+ or Zen 4.

  • @Cusack is there a 16 inch version of this please? TIA

    • +1

Sorry but I don't know. I was only looking for 14"

Bought one of these before end of tax year for 1386 from edu store. Runs GTA5 on the integrated graphics at a reasonable frame rate at 1080p medium to high settings, between 60-75fps. Not tried genshin impact but my old 4500u ran it on low 1080p at 25fps and this seems more than twice as fast.

Device is nicely built and quick enough, battery life like all windows laptops is ok but use all the power in the chip on full brightness and you're better off plugging in.

Not really used it much so not got to grips with W11 yet, still using old Acer Aspire 5 that hasn't skipped a beat.

Note that I was going to upgrade the SSD from a Kingston 1tb a2000 I have but couldn't get the base off despite following online instructions and I'm not a (total) dunce, no screws left unscrewed but it seemed to be "stuck" in the middle of the base to the rest of the unit. Didn't fancy putting a crease in it so have left it as a 512gb for now.

    • hows the battery life? how many hours of regular use can u get out of this with a single full charge?

      • I'd have to check I'll be honest I've hardly used it! It's no macbook (no not apple fanboy but their battery life is good for regular office style use) but its a rpetty decent battery size compared to some of the 38wh batteries you see. Screen is bright though and chip is a 28w not a 15w so that would impact life, I'll have to run it properly to see, but I'm sure it could do a day of normal work without a charge as long as you weren't expecting to play games or edit video without plugging in for 8 hours straight.

  • Is it still good value with only a 1920 x 1200 screen?

    • Oled more than makes up for it at this price. It's also touch, which is a nice combination.

  • +1

Just a note on these OLED laptops with a touchscreen digitizer they will have a screendoor effect, worth looking into if you think this might be a bother.

    • This doesn't get mentioned enough.

    • +1

I have this in the 1920x1200 oled and it doesn't have that dirty screen. my Yoga 9i however, with 2880 x 1800 oled, it is quite evident.

      • Good to know. I was keen on an Asus zenbook flip until I saw it in-store - very obvious. Also saw an HP Spectre and the effect was much more subtle.

  • For what's it's worth the Intel version of this is available at officeworks for roughly the same price. https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/lenovo-14-…

    • This sounds better for me and I might put trigger on this one

      • +1

Unfortunately the Intel 1340p in that laptop only has 4 performance cores, high 64w TDP(increased fan noise and reduced battery life) and worse onboard graphics(not good for casual gaming) than the OP's deal with the AMD CPU.

Based on Passmark the Ryzen 7735u is faster than the 1340p in the Officeworks link whilst being more power efficient.

        • +1

I bought one from local Officeworks tonight… there is only one left….I used Giftcard to bring a further 15% further discount. lol

      • +4

I have this with 7735u, and also a Yoga 9i on 1360p. Would choose this over the intel any time of the day. My 1360p run runs hotter and much noisier.

  • Am I missing something, or was this this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/810312 + $39 for better CPU and storage?
Was cheaper then. Plus 15% cashback couple times I think.

  • Great solid laptop, but it has been around this price for some time. personally, I'll wait for the 14-16% cashback.

  • Recently bought one of these and it arrived with a faulty keyboard backlight, still trying to get Lenovo to fix it

  • Was thinking about a yoga but saw this video. Bit hesitant with the quality issue with this.

  • Should I get this or wait for Zen4 version?

  • Glass

    ?? unusual for laptop?

  • Have a CPU with the igpu 680m and been using it for photo editing, light video editing and some cad work and it's been a beast, super super pleasantly surprised.

Just wish I had gotten this deal instead of the Lenovo deal a few months ago.

  • Why does this have so few likes in comparison to the Acer Swift OLED deal? It's pretty comparable and better build quality IMO

    https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/acer-swift…

    • Not comparable. This Lenovo is a 2-in-1, the Acer you referenced isn't.

  • I ordered one similar to this on the 21st Nov and still waiting for delivery. Does it usually take this long from Lenovo?

    • I ordered similar on the 28th Nov and got it yesterday.

      • Did you do any customization like upgrade HDD etc. or it was standard specification order?

        • No customisation. Everything stock standard. You’re order was customised?

          • @Cusack: I haven't placed the order yet, just waiting for the increased cash back (missed the SB + Westpac offer)
Just want to know if customisation will extend the delivery timeframe compared to standard stock

  • Do these support charging and dp alt mode at the same time? I'd like to get this, but not really familiar with implications of no Thunderbolt. My monitor has usb-c and an integrated KVM and charges my MacBook. Will all those things work with this laptop?
