No rush, enjoy the price. Slightly cheaper than what I paid for it.

ASUS Mesh x2 around $250-$350 any recos? 1000mbps nbn will be streaming 4K 60 from pc to tv
https://www.amazon.com.au/ASUS-Whole-Home-Tri-Band-Coverage-…
$280 for one $575 for two, and includes proper security features.
Yes it's a lot harder to configure if you're a "normal person"
Literally twice the price of TP Link though…. Do Asus have anything that's price comparable?
@LeifAlbor: I have a 5 bedroom house plus a study and media room - tha range of one ISP provided shitty router reaches every corner AND all the cameras outside… unless you're living in a mansion you don't need "mesh"
@DisasterArea: Congratulations on the house dude. Unfortunately for me though my NBN connection is at one side of the house, and my not ISP provided not shitty Netgear R7000 Nighthawk router doesn't reach the other side of the house. I assure you, I do need "mesh" in this case.
@LeifAlbor: You cannot patch from your modem to the "middle" of your house, put the nighthawk there, then patch back to your DP?
That's what I did, and coverage is perfactly adequate ~20m in any direction from uppet floor - where the router is.I'm just saying, this rush to buy multiple routers for "mesh" just means you're getting a less powerful router and paying more for it.
@DisasterArea: just bought TP-LINK Deco XE75 Pro Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 6E System - AXE5400 (3 Pack) for $598! i guess i wasted money 😞
@OfferScooperHQ: Boosted Seamless Coverage — Mesh WiFi coverage up to 7,200 ft2 (3-pack), 5,500 ft2 (2-pack), and 2,900 ft2 (1-pack).
@OfferScooperHQ: Only time will tell there.. you should be at least good for three years with a 3 year warranty..
I'm not saying there is never a use case for a 3 pack.. but it's for those with unusually massive or spread out houses.
Appropriate uses of negative vote
Issue with product (For example:)
It does not work the way it should
It has been recalledI don't really care, but keep in mind that's what -ve votes are for. Yea, I knew about the ssids, but doesn't bother me. Managing the routers via an app is easy for most 'normal' people.
Not a valid down vote at all, except the two steps authentication, nothing really a problem. Paying double for asus? why we need to pay that when we don't need it? This clearly a plus not a cons at all. Don't need mesh in a 5 rooms house? Must need different network name for different devices? Doesn't sound right as well.
Sharing - TP-LINK Deco X50 AX3000 (same as X55 except for different chipset) is going for $349 for 3 pack at Bing Lee with 10% discount ending tonight and Cash Rewards for further 8% discount making it $288.97
Anyone can help me out – I've never understood much about these things.
I have an Opticomm service, with a ZTE Home Gateway ZXHN H1600 WiFi router on the highest floor of a 3 storey townhouse, with about 15 smart devices & 8 laptops/mobile devices, and need better WiFi signal downstairs for internet surfing.
Do I just plug these Decos into the first and second floor Ethernet ports – and away we go? Did I oversimplify it?
And why would I go for this pair instead of the cheaper "TP-Link Deco M5 Mesh Wi-Fi Router System (3-Pack)"?

I can speak on this. Better processer and power, so more devices managing their loads better. Even distribution of data packets to a large number of devices w/o the router struggling to keep up.
It's awesome that you have ethernet ports on each floor. The 3rd floor one will probably need to be wired in too, but I suspect you won't have to as they're all wireless.
According to this your router is already dual band wifi 6.. so what is it you think you are going to get from buying a three pack vs say… putting your existing one on the middle floor of your house? (depends on whether you have two network patches to a nice central point of course) https://ztemobiles.com.au/zte-h1600/
Yeah all 3 floors has patch panels (is that what they're called?) in the wall, so cable connection is a non-issue. However, prefer my modem on the 3rd floor at my work desk for direct oversight and quick modem restarts if needed. Good suggestion though. Maybe all I need is a single Deco on the ground floor - sandwiching the middle floor with the modem on the highest?
In that case maybe a 2 pack? - After all the cheapest bargain is the one you don't buy, and it's only a bargain if you were going to get one anyway at full price ! :)
here is the 3 pack, too for anyone that wants it
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/185252819210
373 for 3 after ebay plus.
$373.90 so $124.64 per unit. Good price!
Vs $133.45 each for this deal.
Could anyone tell me how to obtain the 266 offer price? Currently showing 297 +15$ delivery. Thanks
The only problem with these (and I just returned a 3 pack of the deco X75) is that you have pretty much no control over how your channels are used.
What good is "tri band" when you can only setup ONE network?
i.e. I have three named networks (one on 2.4 / one on 5/ and one for IOT (which is a guest) but with these you can only configure one and a guest.
The security features cost $100 a year to add on.
(also, you can save logs to a file but cannot stream them to syslog etc)
But by far the largest issue with these routers is you can only manage them from an app - which is clearly an "outside in" management into YOUR network from TPLINK and it's only protected by a username and password, no two factor. Frankly that's just pants.
App stops being supported = routers dead
TPlink lose your passowords = entire network possibly compromised.
Better off with the ASUS range with lifetime (trend micro) securoty, and proper self management through the GUI (there's still an app if you want it but not through ASUS' servers)
