I was looking for a UPS and this deal seemed ok… It's advertised as 34% off, but MSY has it for $117 and some other place had it for $119.
The lowest it's been at Amazon according to 3camels is $103, so it's pretty close. …but i just saw an OzB post where it was $93…. maybe this ain't such a good deal after all.

I got a couple of cyber power value lines off gumtree and ebay in the past month: one 1500w and one 1200w
The batteries needed replacing on one and cost $60 for 2 off amazon
All up cost me $80 for the 1500w and $40 for the 1200w
Tested fine and connected via usb and monitored via the cyber power app
Have saved a couple of minor power spikes knocking out my homelab so far so it’s paid for itself already
I have these for WFH setup. One 1600VA for my workstation desk setup, and one 700VA for the NBN modem/router/switches. I have one running using NUT, sine I use VMs so the cyberpower app was no good for multiple machines (without a subscription lol).
They have been running fine for over a year now.
Does anyone know where can I get a replacement battery in Melbourne for Cyberpower Brics 700VA
Have you opened it? What battery model does it take?
Been interested in getting a UPS for my home server, but a total noob at this. How does the UPS communicate with the server (running unraid) so the UPS can tell the server to auto shutdown safely when the UPS loses AC power and switches to battery? Or is this not possible?
I've got a couple of value line UPS and they are connected to two home servers via USB
There's a Cyberpower Powepanel Personal application installed on each that has settings that allow for shutdown in X minutes upon a failure
https://www.cyberpowersystems.com/products/software/power-pa…
I've got mine set quite quickly to shutdown so I can conserve power for internet / network connectivity so I can switch to laptop for a while if need be
After that I don't have enough battery power to last more than a couple of hours nor do I want to spend thousands on UPS gear yet, so I'd probably be relocating for the rest of the day or maybe one day I'll get a generator
You can get Powerpanel Cloud which gives you monitoring etc. for a small amount per month but I don't need that at the moment
Ok, thanks for the info.
I just want it to give the signal for the server to shutdown safely and end any tasks that are running so it doesn't corrupt data.
Also, save on having to run a parity check after every unexpected shutdown,
