Looks like a good price for the specs. No online reviews though, looks like a drip shipped brand.

Yeah I am looking at this right now too. https://qsphere.com.au/ this is the Australian mob making them — well as you say they're rebadging something from overseas, but what? There are no reviews that I can find so despite the amazing price for 4k 27" I am a bit reluctant. Also the refresh rate seems on the low side. I'm going to wait to see if anyone has any experience before I go for it.

i'll try reply as soon as i get it.. i ordered 1 express to country victoria… i'll post my review.. im only using it for office so won't be gaming on it.. i definetly wouldnt get it if gaming because yea 60hz is way too low. thanks for letting me know about this, I updated the post

      • +1

Thanks! I see they say it has brightness of 700 cd/m2 which i think is the same thing as nits.. So that's plenty bright I think.

        • yea was going to wait for one of the really good Dell monitors to go on sale.. hopefully this doesn't turn out too bad

        • +1

oh yea its made in australia.. well should hopefully be good then. thats cool

          • +3

@JURBA: It's not Australia made. QSM rebadge monitors from Chinese OEMs.

This monitor appears to be a rebadged CNHopestar 27B4u.

            • @evanjd: awesome find!!! haha k now i'm worried about it lol… hope it don't turn out too dodgy lol.. hmmm.. i guess mwave are selling it.. can't be that dodgy.. and 3 year warranty hmmm. see how it goes lol

            • @evanjd: That is the exact monitor lol!

  • just got the monitor and idk if its because i've never had a 4k monitor before.. or because the screen is qled or a combo… but its crystal clear and has amazing brightness.. and comes with a calibration certificate peice of paper which shows how its been calibrated which is cool.. the colours look amazing out the box…
my parents were using the 32" Samsung s6U 75Hz mainly for browsing and streaming.. but the 4k is so dam smooth and clear looking.. even though its on the smaller 27" screen i just love how clear everything looks.. can see the pixels with the 32" but they definetly aren't as big as on this.. so i'll swap the 32" samsung with this 27" QSM and leave it with them for 1 week.. and see what they prefer…

also massive difference was the colours set look way better because its been properly calibrated and the options in the menu of the QSM are way better than the samsung.. I can understand why they were selling it for around $550-$750 mark.. its really nice.. only 60Hz though but for what my parents use it for its fine.. and the only other downside is samsung was easier for them to read because it was bigger…

major downside of the samsung was the colours looked crap, and the screen was really dark and looked unatural.. i just couldnt get it looking bright and not dull for some reason.. the colours and brightness are amazing out of the box on the QSM…

only gripe with the QSM was that i got a small like 1mm X 1mm splat of dead pixels about 50mm from the bottom left hand corner of the screen. which is kinda annoying cause it looks like a tiny tiny insect is squished between the panels.. but its not too bad and probably within the acceptable allowance of dead pixels for a new screen.. so i wont bother returning it.. but hey if you get lucky and don't get any dead pixels.. you probably wont have anything to complain about this screen…

back of the monitor silver plastic looks kinda cheap.. but rest aint too bad.. and the flat silver base feels like solid steel and is heavy.. you can rotate 45 degrees left or right from facing forward. and you can lower the screen about 43mm off the desk, and raise 200mm (from desk to the bottom of monitor).

so for browser work and streaming this screen is awesome for a 27"!..

only thing that im not sure of… will it stand the test of time? says its got 3 years limited manufacturer warranty if you register… that is the question.

only thing i wish was the screen was bigger, atleast 32".. thats probably the minimum i'd buy 4k monitor in future.. but screen size is all personal preference.. 27" feels small.. but thats not the fault of the screen..

so basically the screen settings and with the color calibrations, QLED and 4k.. make this screen feel premium.. only thing that takes away from it was the cheap looking back of the monitor and where i got the unlucky abit smaller than 1mm x 1mm dead pixel, and that its only 60Hz. other than that.. if your into 27" monitors, this feels like a banger good monitor..

will my parents want to keep this screen in a weeks time? or go back to the bigger duller 2k samsung 32"? that is the question… haha.. i will comment in a weeks time if this post lets me ^^P

Final words.. after looking at some 4k videos on youtube.. colours are POPPING GOOD!!!! love it compared to the samsung s6U!! bloody awesome for 4k video at 60hz! love it.. cant go back to 2k after this haha

  • and i heard that you normally have to pay a premium to buy color calibrated monitors normally which is cool… for $299 overall seems like good value for money. and i tested the usb-c and it runs Dex fine through my s22 ultra which is good or can charge if you want it to.

Ordered mine on Friday, got it on Thursday. Some answers to questions I had:

    • It's not actually "frameless" as shown in almost all product pictures (and on the box!), but rather matches the design shown in the video. The bezels are quite substantial.
    • The display is glossy.
    • Picture quality seems very good, no dead pixels as reported by others. HDR can be a bit finicky, though. The display just went black when I opened Netflix for the first time.
    • All the auto/dynamic contrast and brightness settings can be turned off.
    • USB-C works for both charging and display input, but YMMV. It worked with my Inspiron 7586, but not with my Motorola Edge 30 Pro, which works with other USB-C -> HDMI adapters.
    • There is a setting to keep USB-C power on while the display is off, and the two USB-A ports can either be used through the C port or the B port. The switch can be mapped to a button - very neat for dual laptop/desktop users!
    • The firmware is quite comprehensive, but some of the options are not very well translated. Firmware can be updated over USB, though I have no idea where to find such updates.
    • Supported refresh rates are 60, 59.95, 30, and 29.97 Hz. I was hoping to see something like 24 or 48 Hz in that list, but no dice. There is no native 1080p; if you want to use 1080p, make sure your GPU supports integer scaling for the best picture quality.
    • A power (external transformer) and DisplayPort cable are included (both white). Unfortunately no USB-C or USB-B.
    • oh yea screen very glossy definatly.. reflects stuff like a mirror almost lol owell..

    • Mine arrived today Shiny screen but I can live with that for this price Tried playing Prime UHD but maybe connection to desktop isnt fast enough - tried wifi then ethernet cable still HD on Amazon Prime
Great at charging 65W laptop edge 30 ultra and edge 5g fusion

  • Still $299 at MWave. Just grabbed one.

Looking at the specs & colour accuracy with 99% DCI-P3 & QLED IPS panel, this is a total bargain.

    • yea its good if you dont have too much light in the room, it doesn't have any antireflection treatment or whatever on the screen… so it is abit annoying at night because i have a mirror behind me at home and the light behind my monitor reflects through the mirror behind my chair.. and you can see the light almost clear as day as a reflection in the screen… double edged sword.. because with no lights on or anything to reflect.. the screen looks crystal clear.. like using it in a dark room with little to no lights on, the colors pop. but yea you probably wouldnt want this thing facing the light coming from the outside window or something.. it can be abit distracting/annoying.. had to twist the monitor on an angle to keep the light from reflecting behind me.. but in the dark the colors and clarity from the screen are awesome for 27" i like it.. and its been color calibrated… best looking colors out of the box on a monitor i've ever used so far probably.. even better than my samsung g9 2k super ultra wide monitor i bought a couple years back… might be the qled and 4k technology though.

Has anyone been able to get G-SYNC working? This display is supposed to support FreeSync, but there's no VRR option either in the NVIDIA Control Panel on Windows or in the KDE Wayland display settings on Linux. My older FreeSync monitor works just fine.

    • Same issue here. I think you need to activate Uniformity Mode, which in my manual is crossed out with a pen, and doesn't show in the screen settings…

    • Mwave responded to my ticket asking for the monitor to be returned.

Looks like QSM stuffed them over, claiming it had the feature but it doesn't. Not sure if a FW update might fix it or not.

      • Yep, they offered me a refund as well. You're probably the other customer they told me complained as well haha. They didn't sound too happy with QSM from the tone of the email.

I've asked them to ask QSM if there are any firmware updates, and they said they would. Hopefully that will help! I'm yet to receive a reply from QSM themselves after contacting them directly a couple of days ago.

I was hoping QSM would offer some protection from the false advertising and awful customer service that comes along with getting cheap no-name products online… Unfortunately this does not seem to be the case. I'll be avoiding them for the foreseeable future. I also expected better from Mwave, though their support has been brilliant.

Arrived today! Fantastic Build quality great solid metal stand and base, no cheap LG SSung plastic Most people are happy with 60HZ for video etc unless you are a gamer, but then a gamer wouldn't want a 27"screen Screen up down tilt full 180degrees After 2 weeks looking at tvs and monitors this was the best! Price build, specifications etc Will plug an Android 13 tv box in
USB C PD90w USBA 3 x2 DP 1.4 Watching the Shining in UHD speakers are great And Ive emailed QSM a few times for manual, registration etc very responsive and fast delivery to SA from NSW from Mwave

  • ordered a 2nd screen because i liked it so much.. too bad it went up in price but i still got it.. seemed like still a decent deal with it being color calibrated and screen looking amazing in the dark and if you dont got too much reflections.. ended up paying around $381.29 in total including shipping to country victoria, for this monitor 2nd time around.. hooked it up to my pc at work and super crisp and my computer doesnt face the window so i dont have issues with reflections.. other one might give away or use myself at home as a 2nd monitor ^^) not worried about the 'gsync' etc.. i dont really game on it.. just watch stuff in 4k etc.

  • lol they dropped it down to $299 again haha wtf.. i paid like $350 plus delivery… guess after the complaints they received.. awell… lost $50 ><D

  • Can anybody confirm if you can have two of these with a Macbook Pro M1 without any issues or needing extra adapter? Essentially thinking of clamshell mode.

This thing looks amazing, assuming they are exactly the same https://youtu.be/IVyyRAFz45M?si=G1jd1mlU8tTOnSBF

    • awesome find yea pretty sure thats the one.. clarity is truly amazing.. i bought a 32inch samsung qhd monitor recently.. hyped at how good it would look.. but disappointed how dull the images ended up looking because of the antiglare on it. i was upset at first that the QSM didnt have antiglare, but its actually a strength that is hard to find unless you see the monitor in real life. this 27" QSM has no visible antiglare, thats for sure, and being color calibrated, QLED and 4k.. pretty awesome combo for 60hz video watching. it can be a massive strength or massive weakness, but if you can avoid the lights etc reflecting in the monitor its a win win

    • +1

I believe that is the same one. This confirms they are dropshipped from 'MadeInChina' link above ahaha

    • Couldn't help myself and bought one.

So here's my little dilemma, everything about the stand is true, big steady metal, love it. Screen colour reproduction looks great to my eyes, love it. A few blue faint stuck pixels near the centre and along the edges, not the most obvious thing given how many pixels this is packing and the viewing distance, a bit of uneven backlight on all 4 corners but honestly I am ok with that; what I am a little bummed about is this problem with backlight at the one edge that look pinched when looking straight on which is 100% of the time how I would use it, it looked like the frame was over tighten at that spot or something causing the image to look darken in that area especially on black or dark scenes , I wonder how your unit look given I am only a sample size of one? I am wondering if I should keep the unit or try to look for an exchange. Thx.

      • hmm i never noticed anything like that before.. i'll try look when i use the screen at work this week comment back after i do

    Purchased on Mwave (https://www.mwave.com.au/product/qsm-q27fhqs-27-4k-hdr600-fr…).
Have to say, I was sceptical at first as well being reduced from $729 to $299.

Currently using on a Macbook Pro M1 via a USB-C Hub Adapter. Beautiful screen quality (the best I have seen), although, I would recommend switching to 'Adobe Mode' in colour selection as the default colour profile seems oversaturated and does not look natural. I have to say a big thank you to the community of OzBargain for writing their comments as this really helped my purchase.

If you are considering a 144hz or this 60hz for professional/daily (non-gaming use) I would def recommend this. The 60hz is fine.

Note: As already mentioned by a few other users here, the monitor frame is a cheap grey plastic and the display border does have a black frame, it is not frameless.
