  • won't 2 batteries be too little for all these tools?

    otherwise awesome deal

    • +15

      You only got two hands?

    • -2

The 2ah battery isn't really suited for these tools, it's really more suited to the constant low draw items like LEDs

      • +2

2ah battery is good for most of those tools due to the light weight of the battery, unless you are using it for hours. I usually use 4ah for a saw or chainsaw.

      • +1

It’s fine for a drill just using it around the house.

      • +3

        I strongly disagree.

I've been using a nearly identical kit, but with 2 x 2.0Ah batteries for the past 3 years for odd handyman jobs around the house and small construction projects. They last plenty long enough for those tasks, and can easily be swapped in and out of the charger while the other one is in use, if that's necessary.

One of the batteries in this kit is double the capacity at 4.0Ah, so it's absolutely more than adequate.

If you're a professional, or have heavy use cases, then this kit probably isn't for you anyway.

        • Everyone's entitled to their opinion, having used the multitool with 2ah and it going flat after notching only a couple studs though I personally wouldn't use them. If you're just undoing a couple screws here and there sure a 2ah sitting a drill would be fine

          • +1

            @[Deactivated]:

it going flat after notching only a couple of studs

Maybe your 2ah battery is faulty or old.

In lamers terms, 4ah battery can last long x2 more than 2ah battery, nothing more.

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: I framed up 2 timber stud walls about 6m in total length x 2.4m high, plus roof framing timbers, on a single charge of both 2Ah batteries. That includes using the circular saw for every timber cut to length, screwing every stud and nog in place with the impact driver, and pre-drilling the holes for fixing to a concrete floor.

I suspect there's something wrong with your battery.

      • They’re perfect for these

    • Nope, for HOME handy person use, 6.0 Ah is a lot of run-time for start-stop tools.
Most of the time you will just use the smaller 2.0 battery as it's lighter, works well with all of these items and quick to re-charge.

    • What are you building?
      3 houses?

Anybody in SEQ want to split? I just want the angle grinder

    • And maybe also one of the drills but not super important

      • Hi mate PM'ed you. Would be keen to discuss a split
Edit - not sure if it went through. Feel free to DM me. I don't need the angle grinder or drill but keen on the other items

        • Didn't get it, but yeah I'm keen

  • weird says - $399 for me.

  • +2

I saw this today in bunnings, Just take note the drill does not have a hammer function.

    • +2

and the note from the previous deal that the saw is 150mm, which makes it hard to find good compatible discs

      • I'm looking at buying a circular saw. What's a good size for a beginner (chopping wood, plant boxes)?

        • +1

I'm not an expert, but from comments on the old threads, they said that 165mm is better than 150 (in term of popularity)

  • bought this for $399 last week, does Bunnings honour price change?

    • +1

anecdotally from reports on here i think they probably do.

      • This will be my ozbargain mission of the day

        • godspeed, my dude

        • Can you report back pls.

          • @Naigrabzo: Yeah they refunded the price difference at the counter, no questions asked.

However by getting me to the store, I spent another $150 on questionable purchases, so jokes on me.

            • +1

@ctan7: Thanks for letting us know.

I do that $150 thing ALL THE F#%^ time.

I am trying to limit my visits these days.

    • +2

Could just return it and re-buy it.

Often I simply ask for the price difference and have that amount refunded.

      • Yeah that’s my back up plan. I wanted to save the hassle by getting a $100 store credit which i will spend anyway.

  • +1

how does this compare to Ozito PXC ?

this kit is similar and also has sander

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-cordless-5-piece-k…

  • ryobi is better quality

  • +1

good price, although these are not brushless

    • I hear you, but brushless really makes a difference in the high draw tools like Chainsaw and Mower.
Unless you are a pro or professional handy person, but then doubt you would be using Ryobi anyway as this gear isn't intended for you.

  • Does anyone buying this, want to sell their 4.0AH battery? Near 3135 postcode

    • offer?

      • Send me a message

  • Got this, good value for the batteries alone.
    Thanks!
