JB was was able to do $170 a cam when Officeworks had that price error
Price matched it with Officeworks for $505 delivered 👌🏽($168 each) + 2000 Flybuys point that's $50 value (Targeted deal)
If one was building a new house, what security cam system would people go for?
HammerCam
Any cam, inc this one but better to put a data point so you can at least power it with POE.
Webcam…make money on the side to pay off the new house.
Depends on the layout of the house and lot. Our home can only really be reached through the driveway, so we have a hardwired Google Nest Floodlight Cam.
But I'd definitely hardwire your cams for power at least.
Thanks yeah I'll definitely be hardwiring them. I actually have a Synology NAS which I can use together with Tapo cameras to store recorded footage it seems, potentially avoiding the whole cloud subscription fees.
Flexes Officeworks price error at $124 each
Filthy I only grabbed one. I only needed one but still 😂
Ditto for me, I was trying to find a reason to buy more but that was already my 5th cam, I ran out of places to monitor
I'm similar, I bought two but really need another two.
its $289 - how did you get $124?
There was a price error a few weeks ago, and the savvy OzBargainers got onto it fast. They listed the battery version for the same price as the older wired ones

Mobility had em for 593 this week and may still
Be aware that the 3 packs only come with 1 charger.
The newer cams come with a small metal security cableAvoid joining Googles ecosystem. Nest aware subscription service has increased for no new features or improvements. In fact, camera quality has got worse and the Google Home app is a dumpster fire. Their basic Nest Aware (30 day event recording) has gone up to $120/y, with the Nest aware Plus (60day +10 day 24/7 video history) now $240/y. Not to mention increasing its Youtube premium sub cost as well. Good old greedflation strikes again . Remember when Google championed itself on 'don't be evil' Now it can't help itself but be the leader of the corporate swamp party.
I get what you're saying, but the alternative is local storage in your house, more wires, and less good AI. It's the price of convenience I guess.
Is there such a thing as a magnetic mount for these? Prefer to not drill if possible
Well, the back of the camera is magnetic: https://www.cnet.com/home/security/nest-cam-with-battery-rev…
So it attaches magnetically to its base, or something else made of metal presumably.
Officeworks has the 3 pack for $527
