Hi Rep, there's been lots of comments in old posts about poor customer service, have things improved?

    • +3

Would love to know too. Bought a bike a few years ago and had terrible service. Could not recommend them to anyone

      • +2

Well it's been 20hrs & still no reply so it appears we have our answer. If you're going to post here as a Rep you need to be a step above in customer service, not a few steps below.

        • I was on a weird cycling industry appointments page months back. There were dozens of jobs in the biz, from mechanics to reps to customer service agents. Well, I noticed at least half a dozen available with Reid, including at least one online customer liaison role.

Not excusing anything, but I did get the feeling they were understaffed.

I had a really terrible experience with Reid Cycles Richmond about 4-5 months ago. Their customer service was horrible and I'd be surprised if they honoured anything about free servicing, membership etc. They don't even answer their phones.

My February order was fine, bike perfect. Didn't need any follow-up, but even this cheapest Jaguar MTB is really good!

Would like to know too Reid!

  • What's the best way to dispose off a used bicycle? I have one which has been outside in sun and rain. Fixing that up would be more than what it's worth.

    • +1

      Hard rubbish
      Leave it outside, and wait

      • put a 'for sale $50 ' sign on it

    • +1

Leave it on the street. Some scrap metal person will take it if u don't want to sell it

  • No stock to begin with for the better large sized gravel bikes. Hasn't been in stock for the last 11 months (at least) when when a sale has been going.

Source: Me. I've been waiting that whole time to pick up a couple of bikes! 😞

More a marketing opportunity than a real sale. eBike prices are the same as last week, last month, three months ago. Nothing new here. If they put as much effort into their specifications as their garbage marketing 'descriptions' making an informed decision to buy would be far easier.

Errors, spelling and grammar mistakes proliferate their website but 'customer support' has gone from zero to one star. My next bike will be from a local bike store.

    • +3

100% agree. Been keeping an eye on e-bikes for the past couple of months and nothing has changed

  • I was given a Reid mtb 27.5 bike recently, not a bad bike

  • Thanks OP.

Do you still include the free lock with all new bikes?

Or was it free lock and lights?

    • Until about mid-year, they included a mini hand pump and cable lock.

  • Hi OP,

    Trying to buy this https://www.reidcycles.com.au/products/reid-vintage-classic-…

You've listed it at $134.99 on here but coming up at $229. Am I missing something here? Says it's in stock. Thanks
