From an anatomical perspective, I can think of a more suitable word than "ball"

  • Showing up as $157 for me. This thing is ok if you need it. At it's original price it's let down by feeling very cheaply made

      if you need it

Apart from playing Missile Command, and maybe Centipede, does anyone really needs this?

I am a programmer and I have been mostly exclusively using this trackball (and the older wired version) for the past 15 years and I like it. It takes the stress off your wrist if you need to using your computer for a long time daily.
I dont really play games but I reckons this wont be suitable for most of them, especially the really competitive ones.

        • Did you like it from get go or did it take getting used to? (I have tried using a trackball - for programmin and (tech-)drawing - but it just never won me over.)

          • @fantombloo: Did you try thumb operated one or index+middle finger one?

I can't use thumb operated ones but love my Kensington Orbit.

  • Says 157$

    • ditto

  • I tried this and hated it. I feel as if it's not designed for constant usage.
I have previously used the Trackman wheel and Ergo M575, I quite liked controlling the trackball with my thumb.
I really want to try the Elecom Huge.

    • I am the other way round…can't do fine control with thumb, love these middle-centered ball. Kensington has this ring that is a great idea for scrolling.

  • The price jumped back to normal.
