I've personally own one of these vacuum cleaners & it going strong after 12 months despite being through the ringer. The vacuum has fantastic suction and will definitely keep your floors cleans.

Great build quality and Made in Germany as well.

Just a note. If you got medium or high pile carpeting, make sure you get a turbo brush head. Otherwise, you will be struggling to push the vacuum across the carpet (unless you want a workout haha). Here the one that I use with my Bosch vacuum

Genuine bags are cheap for these model and can last a long time.

Overall, a great vacuum at a great price.

  • How does this compare to the Dyson Powerball?

    • +2

Never owned a Dyson Powerball. However. one thing for certain, it way easier to empty it out (since all the dust and particle stay in the bag)

    • I've had both. I bought one of these because the Dyson wouldn't fit under my couch. Yes I know it has attachments etc, but it was a pain to keep swapping the hoses etc. I ended up never using the Dyson again. This thing has more suction than the Dyson and is easier to use. The only drawback is you need Vac Bags, but they are cheap and I think it's easier to just throw a bag out and put a new one in, rather than dumping out the Dyson container, washing filters etc etc. The Bosch is highly recommended.

      • Bags are a benefit rather than a minus imo.

  • +2

Can vouch this is a great machine! It sucks :)
I had 2 Miele before and this is on par, haven’t tried the vacuum head yet, how do you find it? I have floor boards and carpet too filled with dog hairs

    • +2

How does it compare regarding to the motor noise? I have a Miele C3 and the motor is quiet and feels premium.

      • +1

The shell is not as solid as most Mieles. But the motor is not noisy like an unbranded, poorly engineered machine. Noise is likely more a function of size and power setting, and given this one packs a lot of suction into a small package, you can't say it's quiet. But nowhere near bad, and you can turn it down to quieten it a lot.

The attachments aren't the same level either- especially the wand. But its super functional, moves/follows well and ergonomics as well as overall size combine to make this a machine we're been really happy with for a long time now (>5 years). It won't fail like most, and as much as the accessories aren't Dyson or Miele level, they will last and the wand is super light- making it easier than all of the the exotic machine's wands to use.

To sum up it's small, simple, light yet well made, and sturdy. Better than bagless of course, and can be used without the HEPA filter on the exhaust, which makes it even more powerful.

        • I think you wrote an awesome review. In line with the videos I saw in YouTube. Cheap and functional, not a luxury vacuum cleaner.

          • @shalala: Thanks.

I've had Miele and others before, they just don't make the grade given the investment demanded. Now Dyson are up everyone's competitive asses by adding innovation, quality and usability where others were failing for so long, only Bosch are left in the marketplace with a notable product.

  • +2

Can you empty the bag so dont need to keep buying the bag?

    • +2

You can probably get away with it maybe once or twice, but it will eventually tear since it made out of paper. However, you can get 4 of them for $19, so no real biggie.

      • Is there a bag fill indicator? How long does the bag last?

        • +2

you'll be able to tell by the poor suction

      • +1

I have one of this and so far so good. Excellent suction. Just wondering where can I get 4 of them for $19? Every where I look for it is $19 each 🤔

        • +1

          $19 pack contains 4 bags.

          • @karma25: Oo really? That's great then 😊 thanks

        • +1

on the link that OP provided, there is an add on product.

option 1 is just the unit,
option 2 is the unit plus $19 bag (contain 4 on the description)
option 3 is for the unit plus 16 bags

          • +1

@donny donny: Strangely, option 3 would cost $3 more than buying the $19 packs separately.
No wonder my Ozbargain senses were tingling!

I've been using these since I got the thing ~18 months ago, no problems.

    • +1

Yes you can empty the bag, instead of buying new bags. But eventually you’ll need to buy the bags for $19 or so

    • +1

      Can you? Yes.
      Intended? No.

    • +3

vacum it up with another vacum

      • VaCception

      • And the cycle continues.

  • Noob question but how do people know which dust bags are compatible with what vacuum cleaners? I have a bagless one and it's been the bane of my existence emptying the dust everytime in a plastic bag (trying not to breathe in) lol

    • +1

Usually the bag itself will have a product ID or you can search it online or instore by the model of the vacuum. Bosch bags are great since they only use the one bags across their entire lineup.

    • +1

      In the manual.
      Email support.
      Google it.

    • Amazon search for 'vacuum bag' and your vacuum model. This is internet 101 stuff my friend!

    • I think if you go to Godfreys or something, they might have some 'universal' bags that are compatible.

      • Thanks. Trying to find bags cheaper than $4.75. My current cylinder is clogged with wife's hair every single time, so $5 a week would ruin me lol

  • +2

"will defiantly keep your floors cleans"

So I have to not want my floors clean?

    • +2

Haha :) it late at night

  • +3

These are very good vacuums. German built and very durable. Bought it from this ripper deal from 2017 for $70 and is still going strong.

    • I know that one for $70 is green in colour.

      • Mine is black with red accents…exactly like the one in the picture.

        • I clearly remembered there was a chocolate one with green accent.

        • Same
          That was a ripper deal!

    • Ouch, how come I missed that!!!

    • I also got that vacuum from that deal. Very strong suction and it hasn't missed a beat.

  • +3

The wheels on this thing are useless. Wish there was a backpack version so I don't have to drag it around

    • +1

Yeah the wheels aren't the greatest in the world, but I've seen worse. Not a massive biggie.

      • +1

no so bad on hardwood floor, it glides, but on carpet a bia*ch

    • Ghostbusters!

    • +1

You just blew my mind man.

Just went to check the price at The Good Guys website and got a pop up for $5 off.

Not including delivery of course but I'm going to pick it up.

  • +4

Very quiet and cleanes really well, use it for 5 years. Dont waste your money on Dyson or any other bagless garbage, unless it is a small duster

    • so quiet you can listen to Mozart when you had it turned on full speed.

      • +1

        And Shostakovich on low speed!

        • Beethoven won't hear a thing

    • I got this with the 70 buck deal 5+ years ago. Amazing to use, to this day… but I wouldn't say it's even remotely quiet…

  • I bought one of these years and years ago from appliances online the bag do lasts a while, I'm still using it. there is an indicator, however I don't rely on indicator, takes awhile for it to indicate full, but the bag is pretty full you can tell as the suction is not very strong that's when you replace the bag.
there is a HEPA filter thingo which I know needs replacement but the darn thing cannot be found anywhere even with this amazon ad it does not tell you that needs replacement only the bag the HEPA filter itself like a little cube thing needs replacement too.Good luck finding it,

    • +1

HEPA filter that comes with this is washable. I have washed mine few times in last 6 years.

      • see i did not know that did you throw it into the washing machine? I did not know the motor is guaranteed for 10 years who does that certainly not samsung?

        • I just washed it in soapy water with an old tooth brush. As per the HEPA filter section of the below product page "What's more is that the filter is washable and doesn't have to be replaced.".

          • @dealhunter52: I didn't even know that mine is so dark and dirty I was looking around to see where I can buy a new one

            • @paloverde88: Just make sure to dry it out properly after washing, before you put it back in. I leave mine in sun for a whole day.

              • @dealhunter52: ah can only be done in summer or all year round if you live in NT or Queensland or WA, Right timing.

  • +2

each time i see this on ozb it reminds me of when I missed getting it for 70 bucks :(

    • Think of the deals you did grab though

      • like that supersized $5 JB cheepskates membership you signed up that no one has ever known about until someone posted on OZB

  • I used the stock wand and it can be quite hard sometimes on carpet, I used it mainly for hardwood floor. Op says you should spend extra to get the professor wand which can lessen so much effort. I have been using the stock wand for years, magic wand it is not but I did not think you can get a professor wand.

  • +3

Thanks OP. Quick question is your linked head a Turbo brush head one? Seems like a normal head. I can see other turbo heads listed as similar items at the bottom of the Catch listing but was after your recommendation. Cheers

    • It defiantly a turbo head. Despite not having it in the listing as a turbo head, I can confirm that my example does have it.

This is the brand and part number for your reference

TK284 Wessel Werk Turbo Head FTTW135

      Make sure it's the 35mm :)

Edit: Just updated the link to show the correct model vacuum head. For some reason when I looked in my invoice, Catch website took me to this Vacuum head instead. Apologies for the inconvenience

$131 on The Good Guys Commercial

  • -3

Had it! It sucked well but not a big fan of buying the bag. Im too oz-bargainer to keep buying bags.
Go with Dyson, i would say. Easy to clean.

    • Same, at $5 per bag, that adds up over time.

  • +2

what's the deal? been this price since July and it's the same price everywhere

  • Not thanks. Rather be bagless like my Electrolux c9

  • +1

I've had one of these for a couple of years now. The suction is great and you can't argue with the price, even though it was $190ish when I bought it. There's a couple of downsides. It's loud. The telescopic wand is flimsy and the bit you hold is a smooth featureless curve, not exactly ergonomic. It's also a little too short for my height (181cm), wouldn't be an issue if you're vacuuming a small house or flat. It's very small, and you can't store any tools inside it, also doesn't come with a dusting brush attachment, which is probably the one I use the most. Mostly just small annoyances, but I do miss my Miele.

  • +2

Good machine, the only bad thing is that it constantly tips over.

    • Good on hard floors, but I can tip mine on carpet. Maybe check the castors are free of fluff and turn freely.

  • Is the turbo head worth it?

    • If you got medium pile carpeting then absolutely yes. It a real workout maneuvering the stock head

      • Thanks will buy

  • Great Vac.Anyone know where you can get the "geniune Larger Bosh Bags", as most of them seem to the smaller

than the ones included with this model vac bought around 5 years ago?

    • +1

Bosch recommends Bosch G ALL bags with 4L capacity for this model. Not sure if you can fit bigger than that due to limited internal space.

  • +1

Am I missing something- this has been $149 for the past 4 months.

    • It was never posted until now…paid for my example well over $200 last year.

  • -3

    Bagged. Too much hassle.

    • +1

Nah, bagless is the hassle, the cord is the main hassle for these. I got miele and over ten years hardly change any bag, still have some spares left from the 16 bundle purchased a while ago.

  • I just bought this and have only ever used bagless vacuums before. Does this vacuum come with any bag at all or do I need to purchase some to start using it ?

    • It comes with 1 bag preinstalled.

      • thanks!
