The price in title is after all stacking discounts have been applied, using a trade-in device valued at $5.

I was not able to complete checkout because Asurion (the trade-in provider) is broken for me but I expect it should work for others.

To get this price:

  1. Install the Samsung Shop app to take advantage of the 10% discount for your first in-app order. Use the app for the remaining steps.
  2. Add the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 512GB to your cart. You must choose from the online exclusive colours only.
  3. Navigate to Computing & Display > Memory & Storage > Memory Card > EVO Plus microSD Card. Add 2 of the 64GB to your cart.
    This should now have activated the additional 20% off advertised here: https://www.samsung.com/au/youmake/
    If it hasn't taken effect, try forcing your cart to update by incrementing the quantity of SD cards, then decrementing.
  4. Add a trade in device to take advantage of the $600 trade-in bonus. You can use the TradeUp app to generate a $1 code for generic headphones (Or so I've heard. Asurion doesn't work for me. I added a $5 Huawei Mate 20 for testing.)
    For reference, my total at this point is $1,382.
  5. Apply your 10% loyalty code.
  6. Apply your $100 loyalty code.
  7. Apply your $50 newsletter code.

              • @Ash-Say: sorry, I think that was with 2 normal Buds and not the Buds Pro that the cart total is $1079.88.
                I find sometimes it's just an instance of mixing and matching until you find one that fits.
                I can attest to your confusion - I ran a test where I added the same sequence on two different devices, and one accepted all the codes, and one didn't. (Two separate sets of codes) but changing the colour choice of accessory on the one that initially failed.

                Try a Galaxy Watch6 instead from the #youmake bundle or another colour of the Buds.

                    Just a tough sell on the Buds 2 Pro given the unit cost is near Amazon's listing.

                      @xis123: After wasting over 3 hours and trying over 100 combinations, I was just able to do Ultra 256GB red for $599.

                      My bubdle was with Buds2 Pro and Watch 6 40mm.

                      I will.wait for the order to approve and then try to cancel the buds and watch.

    Firstly, for those unsure, the graphite looks spectacular in person. Really dig it, looks like that clay audi colour (if anyone knows that lol) with matt black frame. Will see how the red colour looks if all goes well.

    Question, is anyone getting samsung care?
    Im torn. Screen replacement from samsung is $450.
    Battery i believe is $149 or $199 (cant confirm).

    If you get samsung care, its $279 for 2 years upfront, then $229 for a full phone replacement, or $99 for a screen only replacement.

    Essentially a screen repair $379, or full replacement is $510.

    For a fold or flip it makes more sense given 1. Flips and folds are more susceptible to damage and 2. Cost more to repair. For an ultra though, im not sure, espeically given the lower upfront cost? Thoughts?

    • I thought about it but couldn't come to terms with the % of insurance against the unit cost of the phone.
      Had it been a Fold 5 where they were offering 50% off Samsung Care, maybe I would've bitten.

      Touch wood, my Note 9 has lasted this long without a screen protector (some minor scratches across 5 years of ownership) so I've gone with a film protector this time around. Not wanting to deviate from your topic, but which case have you gone for?

      I've gone for the Graphite too. Excited to see it in the flesh when it arrives tomorrow!

      • I tried 2 from amazon, ended up settling with the official samsung leather one in black.

        Compared with the other leather item, its actual leather, protected the buttons, covers all the way to the edge, weighed 1g less, had a velvet kind of lining, covers all around the camera lens', felt best in hand.

        The other case ended up being faux, but it was more the issues above and it was $48 vs $66 for the samsung on amazon.

  • did anyone got Samsung Care+? Is it worth it for Fold 5? Sounds like it's just cover the first 2 years right? In which case the interior screen should be covered by standard warranty (2yrs?)

    • I did for my fold 4. You won't get a new phone, you get a refurbished one and only if they have them in stock which they don't.
      I got it because of the replacement within 24 hours - which they can't deliver. Absolute joke.

        • After a month of waiting for a phone, I asked for a refund. I also demanded a refund for samsung care plus as they did not deliver on what they promised. Still waiting for the refunds. Called Samsung at Werribee and asked if they had a fold 4 or fold 5. They said they have Fold 5 but they are only for Sales, not warranty replacements. Absolute joke.

            • @CyberMurning: I should be getting a refund for the phone as promised. Getting a refund on the Samsung Care Plus needs to be escalated to another department. I wouldn't have thought a company like Samsung would treat long term customer like this.

      Yes. I spoke to them on chat. Said I would like to use their 14 day change of mind policy to return the buds. No issues. Told me the refund amount would be ~$320 for two pairs of Buds2.

        • I just did one and yep they want photos of all sides of the seals

        • I just did it through chat this morning, they ask for photos for the sealed box
          they said the return request will be reviewed by the internal team and may take 7 to 10 business days, once done they will send us the return instruction
          so I am still waiting for them to review

      I wasn't able to stack Youmake and didn't need the 1TB.

      Waiting for the next sale, hopefully the Fold5 can drop under $1k and I can claim the price difference.

        • I used 10% app, 10% loyalty (email), $100 (chat) and $600 bonus trade-in.

          For #YouMake you would need to select 1TB phone and 2 Buds2 (white), costs came to around $1850 (10% app, 20% YouMake, $100 (chat) and $600 trade-in). I couldn't get the 10% loyalty to work with you make.
          So the 1TB phone is around $1530.

          I didn't need the 1TB, and didn't want to pay $1.8K with the risk of not being allowed to cancelled the 2 buds.

    My Fold 1tb in Grey just got delivered. Purchased on Saturday 21/10. Also prucahsed and cancelled immedatley 2 SDcards and got the email now for the refund.

        The botton will disappear if the status move further to dispatching.

        Cancel button will pop up another window for you to choose what you need to cancel.

        Work on both app and website.

  • Regarding the trade-in process, the email says to print it out and hand it to the staff at the post office along with the device. Can anyone reassure me that this is correct?

    I expected to need to package it up and affix the label myself. I'm going to get some funny looks handing over earbuds I just got at the bargain shop next door!

      Yes. Go to chat and say your want to use your 14day change of mind policy to RTS a pair of earbuds you ordered. You will be refunded the amount you paid. Just make sure the packaging has not been opened.

        • Just did it and they said 21-30 days to process refund. Hopefully it is not more than that!

          EDIT: they also told me it would take 7-10 business days to get confirmation email and instructions to return. And 21-30 days does not start until they receive the items back. Seems quite dodgy.

              @CyberMurning: Samsung chat said the same to me. I requested the return of 2x buds 2 on 19/10, got the return instruction and label on 20/10. Posted on 20/10, they received on 23/10. Confirmation email of refund received on 24/10, will take up to 3 business days for funds to clear into my credit card acc according to the confirmation email.
              So yeah..much better time frame than what the chat stated.

In addition trade up added a serial number to my ear buds trade in so now they're saying I need to send it the item with that serial that they mistakenly added otherwise I need to return everything and start again… Yeah right!
