    Good for EATX PC CASE

    • Just what I was thinking!

    • I have one like this, but rectangular, cant seem to find it online

cant seem to find it online

Have you tried the back of your shed?

        • Who would hide it behind his shed? Is that why you know where it is… because it was you!?

          • @[Deactivated]: Never said behind his shed, back of his shed. That's still inside the shed, just, well, back.

    • This is exactly what I use this for. EATX case in the corner next to the desk. Easy to just put it on this dolly and push it back.

Aldi one has a loading capacity of 250kg and this is 200kg

    • +9

I can tell you that it's more like 80kg, we use for work and have cracked a few of them. Finest quality MDF

      • Which one?

        • Deal link

          Material MDF

      • +3

According to my distinctly unscientific testing, sneezing on MDF weakens it by a factor of two.

I don't know how much less it costs to produce mdf (or particle board) but I wish the inventor caught typhoid or the plague as a child…

        • +1

          Slightly better than 1980s chipboard.

Oh and Edward Woodward would wood wouldn't he: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5ZMqK3s-Ho

        • Actually MDF is great … when using it to support vertical loads, when used properly.
Absolutely no good for flat surfaces!

It is not much different to "glued cardboard" after all.

Do you remember Masonite???? Introducing its sibling …

      • +1

        MDF, eww.

      • Which one is more like 80kg?

        • Bunnings one, the Aldi one has a 'better' build quality.

        • I have the Aldi one bought a while back, its quite happily holding I'd estimate approx 170kg without too much trouble. Indoors though and weight distributed across the board evenly. Cant say for sure new ones are same build quality but assume so.

      • Agree, Aldi one is pretty weak. Don't know about Bunnings version.

First Bunnings order with Onepass so not sure sorry

      • +1

I got it on next day but not sure if it's typical.

  • Can you lock the wheels from moving on this? (or the Aldi one)

    • I think this is the same one I've got, in which case no.

    • +1

No locks on the Bunnings one as per the photo

    • Gee!

      Bought one anyway

    • +6

Honestly, for this price its not a bad deal just for the rollers. Even if this did happen, you should be able to just remove the castors, put them on a slightly better panel (maybe ply) and still have a decent dolly.

But yeah, you'd probably get better quality with these, and a cheap ply panel. But you'll still pay more and need some DIY.

      • The castors don't have a mounting plate on them, have a look at the photo above. Only bin-worthy if they come off.

    • Yep. More landfill crap.

What are the wheels like? I want to put wheels under one of these: https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/kallax-shelving-unit-white-6035…. At $3.22 each that's cheaper than most of the castor type wheels at Bunnings. Yeah I know, they're probably just as awful as the MDF.

  • Thanks, grabbed one to replace the homemade one I was originally using for over 15 years as a computer tower wheeler.. 😅

    • And you'll be using it again when this nasty landfill crap falls apart.

      • Apparently it only falls apart if left in damp/wet areas. Luckily I already have 20x, 900mm x 400mm timber shelves to prime/paint this weekend so another bit of material won't hurt. 😅

I still have this deal unopened as backup for when I actually need to start shifting bigger/heavier boxes when moving overseas.

        • +1

Yeah painting it might help too (to seal it). I want to get a look at these at Bunnings and Aldi tomorrow but everything I look at is such rubbish compared to years ago. In the 80s people would joke about junk from Japan, etc - and it was - but if only everyone knew how much worse it was going to get!

          • @[Deactivated]: Understand - most Aussies are cheap. Cheap and nasty will out sell Quality every day.

  • Can buy online or click n collect Logan QLD

  • +1

OP what is the normal RRP?

    • +2

I recall buying this at $16.99

If you did some legwork you could find out for yourself - https://pricehipster.com/product/-NXifC-zut0mEN5IjK2PKA~HJ1K…

But then again, if you had legs, you might not need a movers dolly.

      • +14

Well I’m legally blind and use a screen reader, I didn’t know price hipster existed sorry. I do have working legs just not fully working eyes

        • +4

Price Hipster is great, so it's a good thing you learnt about it. I use it to track item prices at Coles

        • Side topic:

Can your screen reader decipher the OzB snarkyness ?

          • +1

@whyisave: Yes it changes the tone of the screen readers voice to:

That's ok. Take heart that there's many worse off than you. (The IQ of some people is so low they voted yes.)

    • +1

Paid $16 in April and Feb.

      • +1

Quality so bad you had to buy it twice.

        • I've bought about 10 times. I've found them so cheap and useful I leave stuff sitting on permanently in garage. Increases my storage area as i can store stuff compacted together and just roll out of way to get to stuff at back.

  • With one pass, it’s free delivery

  • +1

Nice, I bought a similar if the the same one from Bunnings for around $16-17 I think several years ago and still going strong.

Handy for moving heavy 60-100 litre boxes around the garage without injuring back.

    • But… you had to bend over to put it on, then again to take off. Wouldn't it be better for the back to just… carry it without bending over!?

      • +1

I agree. He should have planned ahead and bought some levitating boxes…

      • Or you just leave on the trolley permanently at this price. I stack about 4 or 5 plastic storage tubs on one of these for a rolling storage unit.

  • +7

instructions unclear, hurt myself and got laughed at when i was at the skate park.

  • +2

great, dont get these dolly wet

    • +2

Also don’t leave in damp areas. Kept one in a basement carpark and got covered with mould.

      • You took it all the way to America for a mould study!?

  • +3

IMO the Aldi ones are better, assuming Aldi have not changed their model or supplier.

They have slightly bigger/wider castors, just enough to make the difference in my use-case trying to roll it over some decking I had.

    • Guessing the wheels also haven't ripped out of the board like the bunnings photo in the comment above?

      • +3

The wheels are still attached to MDF in both cases. That is the issue. I would hazard a guess that the dolly was exposed to at least a bit of moisture before that happened. It would probably have happened to the Aldi one too. MDF sucks…

    • That's rare… for another business not to be beaten in the race to the bottom on quality by Aldi.

What are the Aldi wheels like? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/14394500/redir

      • I unscrewed the castors off the Aldi cart and put them on my pot trolley instead, does that help? :P

Luckily they were matching bolt threads.

        • Yeah a little, thanks. Don't blame me when the cops come for your mobile pot stash though.

  • Thanks op love it 👍

  • I have two of these, they are okay but a little small for moving furniture. My larger one gets more use.
These small ones are good for moving bags of cement and boxes.

  • Same price as basically the same thing at Aldi right now, picked one up the other day.

  • +1

I have had one for years, and use them to move heavy pots around the garden, and sometimes pieces of furniture.

I have had to tighten the wheels, though, as they became loose. Note that that is an Allen screw under the black padding to be able to do this.

  • 200kg load

    • +7

Cool. I should be able to move both my wives…

      • +1

        …ankles

      • Your load will be bigger, if they read your comment.

        Both your wive's what… boyfriends!?

  • If you have trouble with ants in the pet food. Turn one of these into a feeding station.

    • So…..the person who downvoted this. Did you try this already and didn't work? I'd love to know why you disagree.

      • I didn't downvote but maybe someone did because he didn't starve the dog/cat for a week, then fill its bowl to the top, and start it rolling down a slight hill into peak hour traffic.

        • My Jack Russel would beat the crap out of me before it put up with bad service.

  • +2

Great for PC cases, have all 3 PC's on these dollies, gets them up off the floor and makes access so simple.

  • Thanks op

  • +2

I’ve had complete iron-block Toyota engines sitting on these in the shed, perfect for rolling them out of the way easily. Loved it.

  • Saw this instore Sunday arvo, but already cleaned out.

  • +1

I used these bad boys to move - will never move without them again

    • +1

Your situation is fascinating. How do you deal with stairs? And do you get any weird comments at work? Dating myst be a challenge if you can only move around with one of these things.

      • Haha well played… Stairs would be a hassle but who else can claim they had a d##k that drags along the floor. Play to your strengths I guess

  • +1

Have 2 of these for a couple of years and they are great, solid and wheels are sturdy.

    • …wheels are sturdy

      But are they REALLY? ;-)

Sigh… I guess I'll have to go tomorrow and have a look. Unless I come to my senses on the way and remind myself… "Never buy anything at Aldi except food, you know everything else is going to be crap."

      • The Bunnings ones OP posted on.

Yeah Aldi is a hit and miss, usually I look at the Aldi gadget thread on WP to see if anything's good to get.

        • Oh ok so you meant the Bunnings one has better wheels? Every time I go to Bunnings these smaller ones are always sold out so I never get to check out the wheels.

  • Looks fun!! What can I use for? Skating?

    • No all wheels pivot and no steering control… I've seen my kids test your theory out already.

  • These are crap. Most of mine have mold and have also morphed from the moisture.

    • +1

I wonder if you have that much moisture in your environment, maybe it is lucky they have absorbed and save more valuable items? I have several in a high humidity coastal environment where I have to be careful of mould and they are fine.

  • +1

Just remember that ALL of the products you purchase are un-oiled, un-coated, and done with the absolute Minimum of Labour and Materials.

So this means you really want to … Oil it, coat it, and Paint it, preferably before even touching it.

    • Why do all that? what are the benefits? genuinely curious?

      • he will benefit from the joy of spending $$$ and time painting it and oiling it knowing that it is sealed and water resistant, yet it will still fall apart on the first bump …
