Hey OzBargain community,

Just wanted to share a great discovery with you all! I came across an awesome deal on the HP OMEN Outpost Mousepad. It comes with cool RGB lighting and the convenience of Qi wireless charging. I price-matched it at JB Hi-Fi and gave it a try. My initial impressions are really positive – it's a high-quality product. I'm not using it for gaming; it's become a handy addition to my office setup. The original price was around $150-200, so there's some serious savings to be had here.

    I reached out to the store directly, but the individual I spoke with mentioned that their manager had denied the price match request. I decided to contact JBHIFI's support number and requested a price match, which they approved. I went to the same store that initially declined the price match and picked up the mousepad via click and collect.

      In my experience, the JBHIFI support number (and online chat) are much more lenient than the individual stores. Congrats on the price match, according to the JB database the cost price for this product is $89.10 so you got an excellent deal LOL

        strangely enough it's been the complete opposite in my experience, in-store staff are far more lenient than the chat or phone staff, i guess because it's easier to say 'no' to someone with a BS lie/excuse over a livechat or phone call than face to face lmao

          @dm02: Hmm, definitely depends on location then as my store is quite strict with discounts (incl. Price matching). On the other hand, I've seen customers walk in for click and collect purchases that were bought either at cost price or below because they asked for a deal through the online chat. YMMV :)

        I had one store lie to me that after initially agreeing to a price match, after 5 minutes of "checking" at the back of the store, that they had actually run out of stock.
        I went to another JB store and they were more honest and said they couldn't do the price match, and actually agreed with me that the previous store had probably lied to me!
