On sale is an alternative to the last ZSUS 14" deal and the main differences are that this has a higher resolution at 2K instead of 1080p and 350cd/m² brightness instead of 400cd/m². Still a good option for those after something portable that'll easily fit in a backpack.

Featuring a 14" IPS display with 2160x1440 resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, 100% sRGB colour gamut, HDR, 178° wide viewing angle, dual speakers, a fold out case and weighs 1.1kg.

    Obligatory ZSUS meme

And before anyone asks there's no OLED, touchscreen or 144Hz refresh rate with this.

    • +2

A whole alphabet -sus of trademarks between A and Z free to use, except perhaps J.

    • Hey OP, you say no touchscreen but the description says it is touchscreen capable.

      • +1

There are two models on the aliexpress page: "14A-2K", and "14T-2K" - the first one does not have touch, the second one does (and is more expensive).

You've got to be careful with aliexpress and make sure you select the correct "Color" on some of their deals - the description text can often refer to the best/most expensive model they sell, not the cheaper one this deal refers to.

nice deal. these are great to use with 34" ultrawide monitors (i use mine under the main monitor)

i tossed up between 2 clear deals previously (144hz zsus and a bimawen with touch screen for about the same price). Ended upgoing the bimawen but not being able to utilise the touch screen because i think it required thunderbolt 3 support on my mobo and it didn't have it (only had a regular usb c and even then it couldn't seem to power it - so ended up using hdmi). would have been better off with the 144hz in my case. Just in case anyone had a similar set up and was considering one of these.

  • Much better brightness and resolution than the previous zsus 144hz monitor. Nearly impulse bought one as the PPI is 185 which is very nice

It says IPS in promo pics, but TFT in specs…..mmm

  • +1

So wait, is this a better model than the last deal?

    • Wondering the same thing, this has higher resolution but lower brightness, that's the only difference I can see?

      • Yes. Depends what's more important to you.

  • You should just say 1440P vs the 1080P.
Using 2k to describe the horizontal resolution is mostly annoyingly inconsistent.
    Good deal though.

Thanks JV, do you have any 15 inch deals? thanks

  • +1

    No one mentioning it's 15 by 10?!

    2160 X 1440.

    Wild.

    • Just noticed this myself. Damned tempted to buy (even though I just got the 14" 16:9 from a previous deal).

I mean … multiple portable monitors can't hurt, right?

    • I nearly skipped this as I thought it was 16:9! I'm jumping on this.

    • As someone who is totally uneducated in this field, is that a good thing?

      • Differing aspect ratio, means you will have more vertical space with this but less horizontal. On small screens like this I find the vertical real-estate very important.

This site will show the difference.

        • Makes sense, thank you!

It's just not your typical rectangle screen most people are use to. Most TVs and monitors are 16 by 9.

  • +1

As I have a 14.5" 16x10 laptop, i think this is the closest i'll find to a same size external display, as 14.5" panels seem very uncommon. Glad to see some non 16:9 stuff in the portable market.

    This is so SUS!

Love these deals, and to me the most important feature/spec is the weight. the lighter it is the more likley it is to be carried when out and about. I need these for my colleagues who travel.
So a simple request for all posting these deals - if possible, include the weight in the description. Thanks

    • +1

      Sure will do.

      • Thanks!

  • The power supply for it is a 2 pin US plug. Will it just run off any old USB-C charger?

    • Yep. Can use a USB-A to C and run it off any old USB charger too.

  • Does this work well hooked up to a steamdeck?

    • I imagine it would work fine, though I would say that for the steam-deck you might be better off with a 16:9 or 16:10 display rather than 3:2 as more games are designed for widescreen aspect ratios.

      • Fair point. The FSR would have to work hard at full resolution so the same aspect ratio is a good idea

  • I assume this one can be used with Samsung Dex? Thinking to get a portable touch screen for my Samsung s23 Ultra. Does anyone have experience with this kinds of monitors?

    • I don't think this is touchscreen.

      • Oh yes. There is another touchscreen option on the page.

  • Expired?

    • Yeah

  • How long do these normally take to get delivered?

  • Mine just arrived and doesn't have a magnetic case. Will have to contact them.

    • mine has no case too….

    • +1

Mine as well. No case or screen protector. I contacted seller and they said start refund process. Send it back. And then order again. Dont wana go through that whole process now. Screen is super light and does the job well. Stand with it is alright. Does the job. Not too great. Good thing is one usb c to c cable connects it to laptop and it works. No need for extra power. Although it comes with a power adapter and a cable. Any recommendations for a magnetic case you can buy here for it?

      • I find the stand to be a bit janky. I mean, it's servicable, but not as good as the magnetic case.

On the upside though, it is a really nice display and the right size to match my 14" macbook.

      • No screen protector either, stuck with the terrible stand it comes with, which will not work for me, going to have to find one that will work. It's a good screen, build quality is pretty cheap, but as provided it's disappointing. I'm not returning but I am annoyed.

  • They took down the listing. Don't want people to see the magnetic case.

    • To view the old listing, click on "order details", then on the listing image there is a small camera icon (bottom right corner).

  • So who got a magnetic case and who didn't?

    • I suspect no one. You'll probably be able to get a partial refund from AliExpress.

      • How do I do that? I can't contact the seller, all I get are automated replies

        • Yeah I'm in the same boat on the automated supplies. It is a shame as I am keeping it as the panel is exactly what I have been after, but the problem is that I will need to buy more things to make it fit my use case.

      • Yeah, how do I do that? This has been my first bad AliExperience. 😔

        • AliExpress dispute from the order page.

          • +1

@Clear: They have offered me a $22.40 partial refund or a full refund and return.

            • +1

@witheredcouch: $22.40 seems fair. You'd lose money returning.

              • @Clear: Return was postage paid, but there is no other display of these specs so I'm keeping it, I've had to spend $30 on a usable foldable stand so not happy about it.

            • @witheredcouch: How did you do that? I cannot find any functional link to initiate a dispute. The interface looks to me like it is pure sludge. I guess that I am done with Ali deals now,

              • @zbc: Under the refund or return tab. Only on the website not an app.

                • @witheredcouch: Yes I found that, but only got the option for full refund with return. How did you swing the partial refund?

                  • @zbc: I made an enquiry, asking for a $50 refund, with photos.

                    • @witheredcouch: I asked for $112 and got $22.40 as a partial or full $112 with shipping paid

        • Paid $66.49, partial refund: $21.75

  • Agree I got mine no case or screen protector. It was on the items section of the information sheet.. disputing

  • I ended up getting this stand off Amazon; at the time it was $28. The monitor sits in place more securely when it is flipped upside down, the image orientation can then be fixed in Windows settings.

The entire setup now looks very smart, but is definitely a fixed desktop solution (as a third monitor) rather than a portable option.

  • What cables does this come with? is it HDMI to mini HDMI? or mini on both ends?

    • HDMI to mini HDMI

  • Listing is back up

    • Great, everyone who bought one should jump on and leave negative feedback.

      • Way ahead of you there. They seem to have tried to remove most mentions of the case, but there is still at least one.
