  • Whats the way to refill this with cheap ink ? Looking for a printer which you can refil easily with cheap ink

Even using original Epson ink, printout cost per page will be on par or cheaper than a laser printer: https://www.inkstation.com.au/search?keywords=epson%20t522&m…

The genuine Epson ink for these is very cheap. A less than $20 refill bottle of ink will do thousands of pages. You don't need to go looking for cheap 3rd party ink.

Genuine Epson is cheap, especially when you get the 20% off via ebay.

$16 a bottle and usually good for around 2 fill ups…

For many people that would be 2-3 years of ink.

In special Amazon or jb has the ink for around $10/bottle.

Steal all the red, black and blue pens from work and blow the ink into the tanks.
Just need to buy the yellow.

  • I.might be wrong but is that not what this one is. The manufacturer allows you to fill up using bottled ink rather than buying cartridges all the time… hence why its this price and not usual $49 throw away model.

    • Epson has been charging a premium price for these because its not going to make any money later out of selling you expensive ink cartridges. But its not a premium printer. Its looking like people are seeing how expensive up front these printers are for what you get in features, and buying something with a lower upfront cost and better features, and Epson is finding they just have to sell them cheaper to get people to buy them.

Yes, I've got one. An ET-2820. And I'm happy with it. But mine was Epson refurbished. So I got a less than $200 price AND cheap ink refills.

  • For those who still rocking the old cheapo printers, get one of these: https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p233452…

converted my 8 year old Canon from this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/227943

    and its going strong

    • Agree! I got the Rihac for my Brother printer and it's paid for itself 10x over so far, great support from Rihac too.

    • My experience has been hit and miss wit these.
I had one printer run nicely for about 7 years without a problem, and 3 printers that started off ok and turned into a messy nightmare I eventually had to throw out.

Epson's are such an annoying brand, they try so hard to be as intrusive as possible and fill you up with so much bloatware and hassle. I would go for another brand like Brother
