Description

MonsGeek's first multi-mode aluminium keyboard – the M1W, features a 75% 82-key layout with a knob, tri-mode connectivity via 2.4G wireless, Bluetooth, and wired mode, 5-pin V3 Piano Pro switches, shine-through gradient keycaps, poron plate foam and case foam, pre-installed purple plate mount stabilisers, and vibrant south-facing RGB.

  • Type-C wired, 2.4G wireless, Bluetooth wireless
  • M1W comes with gradient-effect shine-through keycaps and a side print design, creating a visually stunning effect while improving the visibility and legibility of individual keys
  • OEM profile keycaps are designed to bring maximum comfort, keeping your hand in a natural state to minimise hand fatigue after long-time use and help minimise typos
  • Keycaps are made of durable PBT double-shot, which helps resist the shine that occurs from oils and sweat from use
  • A high-capacity battery of around 6000mAh
  • The encoder has been upgraded with changes in its height and the plastic inside the knob, resulting in a more stable structure
  • The south-facing PCB of the M1W avoids causing interference with Cherry profile keycaps during customization, offering more compatibility and flexibility
  • Linear V3 Piano Pro switches
  • You can easily create and tailor your own lighting effects with the MonsGeek Cloud Driver
  • Equipped with PORON plate foam, effectively reducing the noise generated by key switches
  • Transparent PC plate to offer flexibility surpassing that of metal, while also reducing low-frequency resonance
  • Single-color plate-mounted stabilizers, which effectively minimizes keycap wobbling
  • Additional PORON case foam
  • VHB insulation layer has been added to the bottom case in order to prevent any short-circuit issues

  • Someone pls recommend a similar keyboard with a knob, or is this the best it gets?

Or where to start with building one

    • Check Cidoo V75 on Amazon. But it's bit expensive than this.

    • This one has a knob? i would get it but it doesn't have via support. is there specific features you are after?

    • I've got a few keyboards already, but from the ones that I have with a knob, I particularly like the Epomaker Skyloong GK75,
It is wired through and uses optical switches (I went with the yellow switches and love them),
And its one of the cheaper hotswap 75% ones out there ($99 on amazon and i think theres a $5 coupon)

      • +1

Skyloong also has a GK75 that is tri-mode and works with regular MX-style switches. I have the plastic version with 4 knobs.

  • FML. After months of looking for a better affordable alternative to Keychron, I gave in and pre-ordered the Nuphy Air75 v2 yesterday. Now this comes along, sigh.

    • +1

That's low profile though? And the equivalent Keychron, K3 Pro, is actually slightly cheaper.

      • Air75 V2 has better specs than K3 Pro for a small price premium

        Air75 v2 vs. K3 Pro
        - Better wireless: 1000hz in 2.5g Wireless mode or 125hz Bluetooth vs. 90 hz Bluetooth only
        - Better battery: 4000 mAh vs 1550 mAh
        - Better lights: 40 backlight modes vs. 22

FWIW Keychron do not offer a low-profile wireless knob keyboard. They also do not respond on their Facebook page to any pricing requests on newly announced products (see: OnePlus keyboard). Nor do they respond to feedback requests asking for product configuration (ie 'What Keychron keyboard matches this spec?'). I found the elitist attitude off-putting, which is also why I chose not to buy their products but YMMV.

I livw tkis jeybird. Nu provlens fundung thw rught keyz!1!

  • Is it a bargain if this is just the price they sell it for?

    • +2

for a wireless, 75%, full aluminium gasket board, which is fully built out, this is a great price.

For reference, other equivalents like the Cidoo V75, Keychron Q1 pro, Akko ACR75, they're all much more expensive even for the barebones. This board would be a good entry into custom mechanical keyboards without having to drop $350~ on a barebones board + switches + caps

  • FYI this keyboard is quite hefty coming at 1.92kg so definitely a home keyboard.

  • Assembled with keycaps and switches this is a bargain. Additional material for mods too.

  • i'm not familiar with the technicals of keyboards, but is this keyboard supposed to be modded? would you use it as is?

    • I have their tkl version. They were fine as is and I assume these would be too. Though modding is like adding cherry on top.

  • Buy or wait for a discount on Black Friday or something?

  • Same price at centrecom but with free shipping: https://www.centrecom.com.au/monsgeek-m1w-multi-modes-piano-…
