Damn it, bought for $169 a few weeks back

  • Had been waiting for this special for a long time. Ended up ordering from MWave on a pre-order because I did not know how long it was going to take BPC to start this special :(

    • Sorry my bad!!!!

      • Its all good mate, I still got lots of SSD's from you guys this week, Don't worry im sure I will buy more soon for builds :)
Hope this is the new price going forward and not just a special for a short time, as DDR5 prices are still falling. And at this new price its where it should be in current market. Fingers crossed the prices stay here for a while.

      • Just ordered 3 kits mate, MWave are stuffing me around, claiming no stock till next week. Need them ASAP so ordered from you guys, should have done it in the first place.

  • +5

Compared to the previous 6000/CL34 deal this kit has upped voltage to 1.4V and also explicitly dropped EXPO support

If it is still Hynix-M die, it should be fine for AMD users but dropping the EXPO means Lexar may have:

    - Changed the PMIC and/or
    - Not tested extensively on AMD and/or
    - Tested extensively on AMD, got flaky results and are only keeping the XMP 3.0 support to cover their ass

  • Maybe Techfast should bulk buy this instead of giving us outrageous upgrade options (+200 from memory) on their base level builds…

    • +5

      Are you serious?

If you were talking about a BPC custom build and they offered overpriced DDR5 upgrades whilst this deal was on, fair point

But linking TechFast - a completely different business with completely different supplier relationships and pricing models - is ridiculous

If Luke is only offering "outrageous upgrade" pricing on RAM, clearly he wants you to keep the stock config

Anyone wanting a cheap upgrade would buy this BPC kit, remove and sell the TechFast kit and then install the Lexar themselves

      • +1

I'm absolutely serious. If an alternate supplier like BPC can sell RAM to the public at this price, then surely a larger PC builder who buys in bulk like Techfast could get it even cheaper/at least match this?

Techfast keeps advertising machines with compromised base level RAM which are huge bottle necks in performance. They have publicly acknowledged this and then recommend people to use their $200 upgrade for DDR5-6400 RAM.

Sure you could remove the rubbish base Techfast RAM and buy something else. Then you need to sell it etc. The point is they build systems with intentional bottlenecks and don't offer reasonably priced solutions around this. Other sellers like Nebula PC, EnigmaPC and even BPC don't do this.

Techfast are just being greedy. I'm just calling it for what it is!

The car comparison to this would be to sell a new car with 4x emergency tyres rated at 80km/hr, then offer you the option of buying proper wheels and tyres for +$5000. Sure you could always sell the emergency tyres yourself and buy proper tyres that everyone else is using. Or they could just stop selling new cars with such deliberate bottle necks. Their priority is their profits and not the consumer.

    • +1

they make their money on the upgrades, the base builds have very thin margins

  • Why not one black and one white? Look to the cookie

  • Bought the white kit a few weeks ago. Can confirm kit is hynix A die

    • Idk anything about ddr5 ram, is that a good thing?

      • Hynix a die is good for overclocking

    • Did you overclock it ?

      • +2

Ran kit at 7800cl38 1.55v for a week but
        no improvement over 6400cl30 1.49v for 7700x

        • i thought AMD CPU are unstable for Ram over 6000 MHZ?
Seems like you ran fine with higher speed even with an AMD CPU.

          • +1

@jenesis33: They've improved with the newer BIOS versions, many reports of people running 7k+ lately

            • +2

@DiscountForThee: yeah i just saw some news/video on this. Make me feel much better going to use this set of ram with AMD build

        • Thank you

  • Hi, The title said delivered, but will automatically add $5 shipping when check out

    • +1

I manage to buy one yes it will select the 5 dollar shipping but when you check out the price still 149. So no shipping fee

  • Hi OP,

I sent you guys an email on Friday, and Insta and OZB PMed but haven't received any reply.

    Hi guys:

Doing this promo mainly because I promised few people (including few guys on Ozbargain) I would run a Ram promo.

It's also available in other places in AU whoever sells Lexar.
And this deal will also be available in NZ via PB tech.

I struggled a bit with colours, some told me black ones sells 10 times better than white ones. (I am specifically talking about computer memory)
But some SI told me now white builds are trending, so hopefully I get the ratio correct, if you want to buy one colour and found out it's out of stock please support the other colour. They are the same.

Remember in last post someone told me there will be a 13% price drop on SSD in Q3? look around, it's not happenning, our NM790 still the best deal out there.

The production cost is still climbing up, the NM790 deal will end when all our current stock runs out.
There are 17 days left on Q3, in Q4 quite few brands pricing will first go up, and then restore to previous pricing or a bit lower on Black Friday. (end of Nov)
But overall, it shouldn't be as good as my current deal, if it is, i will react for sure.

Also on lower end DDR3 and DDR4 Ram, pricing is going up.
However, on DDR5, because the margin still higher than other range, so there will still be some price fights, but as far as I can see, we are providing the best deals in Australia so far.

The heatsink version of NM790 will be available later this month or early next month.
It will cost you a bit more than NM790 of course, but I will try to make it a super sweet deal for those who wants to upgrade their playstations.
But I believe we also have heatsink (just the heatsink) available soon.

    Lastly

This quarter has been fantastic, thanks to you guys and everyone who supported brands.
The sales result has been amazing despite many challenges (ie. exchange rate)
Our NM790 deal got like almost 300 ups, that's one of the best result on Ozbargain in the past few months.

I have some external deals done with certain NR (but you will need membership unfortunately) coming up.

Next month I am still going to try do something for Ozbargainers.
If you see this post, put some ideas here, I will read them.

I am giving up on game giveaways…
instead, I am thinking about co-branding, I might go with some big hardware brands to do some bundles.
Alternatively, may be I pull enough money to do a lottery draw, do some cameras or some expensive headphones or something…I don't know yet.

again, If you see this post, put some ideas here, I will read them. And I might make it happen if it's doable.

    Thanks guys.

I appreciate your post as a rep, Chris. Your transparency (however marketing biased or not) is appreciated and you've just made a sale from me, and I look forward to the unit with heat-sink for PS5. Always wanted an excuse to try your brand as you're well regarded in the storage market for camera equipment.

    • Hi Chris thanks for the info. For a normal desktop build do you need ssd with heatsink? If motherboard already has cover?

If yes I might wait for the deal with heatsink.

      • No, just use the one with the motherboard.

        • ok thanks for this!

    • Hey Chris, any news on the release of a 64gb DDR5 kit?

      • +2

I am not too sure if we can have stock before Black Friday, but we definately have it planned.

You will first see us bring in 7200mhz stock

        • Any ideas on pricing for the 64gb kit and 7200 stock?

          • +1

@Julius: I can't say for sure, but as you can see, so far all the stuff I bring in are priced pretty much 5-25% lower than most of the budget brand.
I don't want to set any expectations, but it will be priced aggressively

        • Will there be 32G kit of 7200?

          • +1

@Auspcbuilda: I am think just bring in 64G for the high end stuff, but if there is demand I will go with both models as well

    • For a giveaway I would think most OzBragain people would like PC Parts, Maybe SSD+RAM+Headphones would be good.

I have ordered 10x 790 SSD just this week, Hope Im doing my part to get your parts out there. I have found them to work well and at a very decent price. Keep it up.
If the DDR5 kits can stay this price as long as they can, that would be great.

I ordered some DDR5 kits from MWave but they still have not even shipped them. Its my fault because every time I buy something from them it takes forever for them to ship and for it to arrive. I should have waited for BPC and got them there, they would have shipped already and be on there way. BPC shipping have always been good to me, They send quick, they offer free shipping to QLD, and it takes as long as others I have to pay for shipping. So BPC is my go to for Lexar parts. I will get more drives and DDR5 kits from them in a couple of weeks time.

If you could find someone up here in Brisbane/QLD to sell your Lexar parts, that would be good, so I could pick up same day or shorter shipping time.

      • Hi Auspcbuilda,

In QLD you should contact Auscomp if you are volume buyer.
They have stock and a larger variety of products.

There are also few smaller retailer there having some stock.
But Yes I will make them more accessible. It's only my second quarter in this job.

Headphones…with one SSD and one RAM, I can't squeeze enough money to really give away a decent headphone.
Same goes with some cheap 5 dollar "gaming mouse".

But I will go talk to few of my personal favourite brands and check what we can come up with.

Might be good for me to go with some Razer stuff.

        • Thanks Chris,

Nar only use Lexar stuff for your giveaway, your trying to promote Lexar Products, don't get 3rd parties in, it will dilute what your trying to do IMO.

If you could get Umart to stock Lexar gear, that would be good for all.

          Thanks

    • I want to try the Lexar SSDs but I think I'll wait for the version with the heatsink pre-installed. I'm building a new PC soon (first one in a long time) so please keep us posted when that gets released!

      • Stock will arrive before end of the month.
It will take some time before it gets shipped all over the country.
But you will see pre-order listings very very soon

  • The thread OP says this:

Both XMP & EXPO Supported, no worries about the platforms :)

So does the BPCTech purchase page.

But as mentioned by another commenter here, this kit doesn't support EXPO as per Lexar's website. I also looked up a photo of the physical box. Only XMP shown.

Can the OP reply to clear this up?

    • Replying to myself to ask readers in general:

Assuming no EXPO, is it a huge hassle to setup manually (for 7800X3D)?

There are low-effort timings to be found on Buildzoid's page for 6000 kits, but I'm not sure how applicable it is to this 6400 kit.
…Or what things like "Just use XMP" even mean.

    • Great request. I'll also reply to you so you don't look insane replying to yourself.

I too would like some solid confirmation, I'm gathering the pieces for an AMD machine over the next few months, would like an assurance its not going to be a surprise headache when its all put together.

      • I rang them and got the sales person to look at the physical box. Indeed, it only says XMP OC. No EXPO. The sales person said he'd ask to have the purchase page corrected.

        @BPC Technology
You should probably update the OP to clarify no EXPO.
