Seems like a decent portable monitor with good connectivity and size/weight. I just picked up the 144hz version so I'll see how it goes once it arrives.

$230 down from $360 for the 144hz one - see link (it said lightning deal so I'm not sure how quickly this one will expire).

I often see deals similar to this posted from AliExpress but I prefer buying from Amazon as I've always had good experiences with returns.

I strongly recommend performing a monitor test before proceeding with anything else. I purchased this particular model two months ago for about $100 and discovered a dead pixel on the screen

    • How was the support, and where did you purchase it from?

It was purchased from the same seller on Amazon and I managed to return it for a refund with no issue

    • Thank you - great tip!

This is regular pricing tbh. Everytime I have looked over the span of 6 months are the same price and always "discounted".

    • Agreed - I've seen AliExpress ones for same spec (1080p, 60hz, IPS) ranging from ~$110 to $150.

I guess the premium here would be to be able to return to Amazon easily and quickly.

  • How do people use these things?

If I'm on the go, can't image carrying both a laptop AND this screen in my backpack…. do you really miss a second screen that much?

    • Think ppl use them for gaming mostly…i.e. take switch + this

I have a 34" ultrawide but I need more screen realestate for my work. For my application, having it below my ultrawide (angled so I'm looking above my keyboard) is preferable to another monitor next to it. It's nice and slim so it takes up less desk space and looks nicer also.

    • I'm looking at buying one as a third smaller monitor for my home setup to have Teams/messenger/etc on, or for if I want to take my tablet outside and work and have a second screen.

    • I struggle to understand the use of this kind of monitor too. If I'm outdoor and have to use the computer, I can live with the laptop monitor to fix something urgent on the go. If I am indoors I would always be able to find bigger monitors with AC power to use it properly, why an extra 15" or so?

    • i have two screens at home for writing talks and have documents open at the same time as making a powerpoint. If i get sick of my 'home office' in my bedroom then i go to the library. this extra screen would be handy then and it's like an ipad size?

    • I travel a lot and use my portable monitor in hotels and airport lounges mostly.

I'm working in transient locations more then fixed locations like a home or business office.

  • https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/796252 i got this deal - 16" with touchscreen and 1920 x1200. quite happy with it.

Using it under ultrawide for my desktop (although my mobo had no TB3 support, so i had to use the hdmi to minihdmi cable it came with, i.e no touch screen).

  • Bought this model from the same brand 2 months ago, been using it daily and honestly quite pleased with how it's performing - does the job really well and had no problems so far.

  • There is a $15 off coupon too so making it cheaper

  • Is there any better deals?

  • Note that this version comes with a stand but not a hard cover so you'll probably need something to help protect the screen while traveling.

I bought this, arrived next day. No complains or issues with the screen itself. Works well and I like how it has 2 USB-Cs where I can connect the USB power to the screen, then use the other USB to connect the screen to the laptop/switch with power so that the laptop/switch will also be getting power.

The only thing right now is finding a hard case/cover for it (unlike a laptop where the screen is protected when closed, there is nothing to protect this screen from a sharp object in a backpack/bag).

This also doesn't have VESA support either so 3rd party covers that uses VESA will not be supported through VESA (but you can always use other means to stick them together).
