I have enough batteries to get me half way around Australia on a bike now. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

"I have never seen an Ozito bike"
No you wouldn't have, people buy them and put them in the cupboard 'cause they know they'll use them, but they don't.

    • +4

Pffft you sound like my treadmill

    • "… people buy them and put them in the cupboard 'cause they know they'll use them, but they don't.". Guilty, my Lord.

A bike that runs off my lawn mower batteries sounds cool in theory. But I'm skeptical how much runtime one would get out of it.

Would hate to slap in a pair of 2Ah batteries so i can pop down the corner shop. And run out of charge

I’m no scientist but trying to do the maths for 2x 4.0Ah batteries gives 144Wh.

That’s about the same amount of watts that a completely untrained cyclist could do for a hard 1-hour effort. Probably enough for tootling to the shops a handful of times but not much more. If it’s hilly (especially if you are heavy) you won’t go far.

Most e-bikes come with 300-500Wh batteries, some are even bigger.

For your 2.0Ah batteries that’s 72Wh. A good fart would feel like a turbo boost at that power output. But it would give you 288w for 15 minutes which would be plenty. Might not get you all the way there and back though.

      • Most ebikes are okay to be the main source of power. This is advertised as assist only. I doubt they can run at a crazy amperage.

Besides, all photos how the 5.2Ah high amp batteries

        • I doubt they can run at a crazy amperage.

Powertool batteries can supply way more amps than needed for an e-bike.
I used Ozitos for a DIY e-bike, and a pair of 2.5Ah batteries from the lawnmower supplied enough power.
          But it needed 4x4Ah, in a 2x2 arrangement for 36V @ 8Ah to get a decent range.
A bit of work to hook up, but better than buying a cheap bike battery online, of unknown quality.

          • @bargaino: Home made e-bike….😲

            Pics?

            • +1

@Spending2Much: A regular bike, with a hub motor kit. They are very popular, or used to be. Less worth it now.
Its not like I was welding my own frame :-)

      • It's electric assisted, the intent is that you'll still be pedalling.

      • i have a 750Wh battery on my bike which gives about 150-180km on lowest setting on simple terrain, i wouldnt trust this ozito bike with more than 50km low assist with not many hills, realistically maybe 20-30km tops. for $2k, save just a little more and get a decent entry level actual ebike

    • You can always pedal when it runs out of batteries…

  • You can probably build one of these yourself and use same batteries

    • +1

Already been done. Look on YouTube.
Dude uses 3 batteries in his though.

Batteries and charger have been this oroce for a while now

    • I saw the battery in the store for $79 in Fountain Gate yesterday, but only the last one left.

  • +2

This is the usual price for this battery and charger pack. I haven't seen it for anything other than $99.98.

Still great value, considering what you get.

Cacti here, these are actually legit good values.

These are great value for what they are.

    5/5 cacti.

  • Whoa

  • I kinda love the bike idea. Buy the same battery system for every appliance in the house

  • have never seen an Ozito bike(b

    Ozito the new xiaomi

  • Wait for ozito bike to come on specials/clearance, then buy x3 of them that you don't need.

2k is steep, just wait for Aldi to put their bike on sale for about 800 and hopefully they will price match like they do for their tools

    • Aldi's rebrand doesn't have a bike. The ozito Einhell ebikes started in 2019

  • +4

You can get bikes with 2-3 times the battery size included for less than $2k

    • +2

this bike was on a deal for 600 bucks singapore. reviews said it was a cheap rust bucket, plenty of returns

  • Just FYI, you still need to actively pedal with E-bikes lol #fatlyf

    • For quality bikes; Only when climbing hard from experience. (Quality meaning even the Like bikes for rent in the EU)

But yes, peddle peddle for this Ozito

  • I can't find any specs on the components of the ebike.

  • A much better bike would be, if it allowed you to ride and charge the batteries.

Can you image all the tradies at lunchtime riding their bike to charge their tools… Although they probably would prefer an AEG bike to an Ozito.

  • +1

Bike looks like expensive shit tier. Get a much better ebike from a bike shop for 2k

  • -3

God ozito is trash. I literally use it as a door stopper

    • +1

      That's an expensive door stopper.

      • Nah work paid for it 😄. Dewalt is me go to now

        • dewalt is just as good as ozito and ryobi, lol. you can even buy that cheap tool from costco. get off your high horse because you are on the same level kid. lol

  • Ozito PXC 18V 2 x 4.0Ah Batteries And Multi Charger Pack.

This item is no longer available to buy online or in-store.

That bike is extremely high margin for someone!

    • Yeah, that is what I am wondering about.
The frame could possibly be no different than those cheap "adult" sized bike frames at BigW and Kmart bicycles that are designed to fit in a small box package rather than be a decent ridable bike, with such cheap frames you can't even turn the front/handbar wheels without your foot hitting the front wheel when doing a full cycle pedal…
So paying $2k for that kind of experience would be a bit of a crime, if they had one for a test ride around the car park then that would be appropriate.
