    • I'm also happy with the S20 FE 5G, especially because it has a micro SD card slot whereas the S23 doesn't

Did anyone get an email from asurion with the return label? I got my phone today but haven't gotten the return label.

    • I haven't got any email from Asurion after I got phone on last Friday.

      • You can generate the label yourself.

        • How?

          • @hopper: In the email there should be like to trade portal. If you follow the link you will see the option to generate the label.

          • @hopper: Just to add on, email says:

If you would like to send in your original device to us before you receive your new Samsung Galaxy device, you can log in to the Trade Up Portal to download your e-Parcel label.

      • Did you end up generating the label yourself? I'm travelling tomorrow, not sure if I have time to send my phone back.

        • Yes. I sent in headphone though not a phone.

          • @Xishnik: Do you need to box up the headphones? In the email it just says bring the device to aus post.

            • @hawkers89: Auspost provided padded bag..just show them letter from Samsung email. I did same while sending earphone. Since it's headphone may be box up.

            • @hawkers89: Don't need to pack them. Auspost does it all once they scan the QR tag on the return label.

Website showing Ultra now gets $500 bonus trade in without code still with $300 off rrp and S23/S23+ get $300 off RRP and $300 trade in bonus until 4th Oct but does not reflect this in cart atm.

    • Yes, I noticed that as well. Not sure whether all codes stack up like on this deal.

    • They increase price by $300. U23 128 GB was $1600 and now $1900….

      • The banner on samsung website says $300 off rrp as well so U23 256GB should still be $1649 plus the $500 trade in bonus but as i said, it doesnt show those discounts in the cart

    • I spoke to chat, they said it will be fixed later in the day. Fingers crossed the other codes stack. Disappointed s23/+ only get the 300 instead of $500 like ultra making the s23 base $490. If that's the case anyone thinking of buying the s23 plus should get the ultra instead.

      • Even if those codes stack, the buds hack has been fixed which could have saved another ~$30-$180 depending on phone and free buds. Doubt we will ever see prices get that low again.

        • 😢

  • I also got the email with a code but don't think it's worth upgrading from the S20 FE 5G becuase the S23 has no micro SD card

    • Bought one for my sibling, but i still hang on to my S20+ for the same reason, no SD card

      • I hope Samsung bring back the micro SD card slot in future phones

        • +1

I doubt as most of the manufacturers are phasing out SD card slot from their flagships. That way, they can make more money by enticing customers to buy the higher memory models with fat profit margins for the companies.

          • @buddysayshi: Exactly right, you either need to pay upfront heaps more for more onboard storage, or pay their subscription fees for cloud storage

            • @bargainfinder: Everything is becoming expensive. Remember the old days when we were able to buy flagship phones under $1k or even cheaper.

          • @buddysayshi: it's a shame because the memory they provide is not enough, I want at least 2TB

            • +1

@x x: Yeah, no SD card slot is unfortunate, but @buddysayshi said companies are doing it on purpose to capitalise & make more profits. We have no choice, but to adapt with the times…

What I do to alleviate less storage is an ext. USB-C NVMe that I carry around in my messenger sling. Ensures I get into routine to backup regularly too incase my phone goes kaput.

              • @grab_ur_freebies: That's a great idea using a portable storgae drive to back up your phone contents. When you plug it into your phone's USB-C port, what app do you use to make a backup of the phone? I'm currently using this app but happy to try others that might be better..
                https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sandisk.mz…

                • +1

@x x: Nothing fancy. I just use ES File Explorer from the playstore. Does the job. The drive mounts & appears in the app & you can drag drop, copy, paste between the phone's internal storage & the ext. drive.

Just make sure you check that your usb port on your phone provides enough power & can do OTG.

  • Anyone know how long does it take for Asurion to process the refund after receiving the phone?

    • I posted my trade in old phone to Asurion on Sat, Asurion received my old phone on Wed and I received an email from Samsung on Thurs stating my refund will be processed within the next 5 business days

      • Update, Samsung received phone, happy with its condition and will proceed to refund the security payment.

I would have though they might pick up on a scratch on a screen protector and make me dispute it.

Overall happy with the outcome, but having second thoughts whether I should have gone an iphone 15 pro max. lol.

        • When did you send it in?

          • @bargainfinder: Sent it Tuesday, they received it Wednesday, Process completed today.

            • @slam: Thats quick. I sent it Yesterday morning, haven't heard from them yet

    • I sent mine in on Fri 15/9.. received Wed 20/9. I haven't heard a peep from Asurion and now I'm starting to get worried.

      • Hi mate, have you received your refund. I also sent mine and got delivered on 20/09. No acknowledgement from ausrion yet

        • They sent me an email yesterday stating that they haven't received my trade in (which was delivered 20/9) and that if it wasn't received today, they would charge me an additional $60. I replied back to the link in their email that I had returned it. I got an email today stating that it had been received and that they were happy with the condition of it and will proceed with the refund.

I probably won't bother next time. Bit of a shambles.

          • @Vladdo: Thanks, mine was the same case but I haven't got any response yet from them

            • @vskanth: Send them an email from the trade in email link. It's a shame you have to follow it up.

      • I encountered the same situation as you did… I can see from Auspost that they received it this Monday, which is 4 days ago (25 Sep), as I received the new phone on 20 Sep. And now they emailed me claiming they haven't received it yet. I emailed them, no reply at all. I contacted Samsung online live chat, and they said they were not able to do anything and suggested me to email Asurion. Which is a dead-end. And it seems they are going to charge me next Wednesday if they still insist they haven't received it. What a non-sense service! I'm going to lodge at VCAT.

        • Send them a message. There's a link in the trade in email and state that the phone was delivered on the 25th. That said, they took about 10 days to process mine and I still haven't received a refund yet only a confirmation that the phone condition was as initially stated. Painful process.

      • Same with me. I sent my device and they received on 21/09 but still sending me email that they haven’t received it and they will charge me $60. Sent them an email and raised an enquiry on their portal but no response. Worried worried.

I received phone for over a week now, but still no email from Asurion. Also in my Samsung's account, order's still showing as 'on the way'.
    Anyone experience similar?

Use the link to get the postage label yourself rather waiting for them.

      • thanks

    • I haven't received my order. Showing "on the way" but both Startrack and Samsung Care don't know where is it. I wanted to email this formally to Samsung, does anyone here know their email address?

  • Anyone moved from pixel 2/3 to ultra 23? How's experience?

    • From such old phones to S23U you'll be amazed that you didn't switch sooner lol

      • I agree..got pxl2 in 2018 in Telstra deal…when I do co comparison it's 230gm vs 170 of pixel 2….and google photos etc are better in pixel….how easy it is to move photos from pixel to SU23…

    • I'm moving from pixel 2 to S23.

Sigh, dealing with the Samsung chat service and support over the phone is a pain.

My delivery hasn't arrived yet, despite the ETA shown as Wed, 20 Sep 2023 and they're now trying to tell me that the configuration I have chosen (S23U in Cream) is high in demand and will take longer to deliver (delivery date by the end of this month). Have to admit that Apple's logistics, warranty, and customer service are world-class, and this is probably one of the main reasons they've their loyal and happy customers. The only saving grace is the fact that this deal existed, and the Ozbargain community is very helpful.

Overall, furious at Samsung but grateful for the camaraderie from this community.

  • Anyone sent a headphone back? was it a wired or wireless headphone for a $1 trade-in and have gotten approved? I m still waiting for my phone so just wanted to see what I should send back…

    • I sent Bluetooth earbud , haven't heard back anything

      • hopefully its ok then! and how long ago was that?

        • +1

Sent on Thursday so will wait couple of more days

          • @pyramid: Did you get your refund back from Bluetooth headphones @pyramid?

            • @akma1: No not yet …they have sent me 2 emails and I sent them auspost tracking details..

  • Hey all, those with an S23 Ultra. Do you know if the phone is suppose to support Dual physical sim cards?

Official google says it suppots dual sim slots. But theres no way for me to put in that second sim unless I'm missing something.

  • Did anyone get the phone delivered from this deal? I ordered on 13/09, shipped on 19/09 and no tracking number and anything yet. Any ideal how long to get it delivered?
    Thank you.

    • Ordered the S23 Ultra on 12th September.

Bonus Case arrived this morning and the phone should be arriving tomorrow as per tracking.

    • On the same boat (ordered on 13/09 also, and received an email on 19/09 that my goods were on the way, with an ETA of 20/09). No delivery on 20/09. Reached out to the Samsung Care Team through the chat and phone on Thu, Fri, and Sat last week. Wasting my breath as I'm the one chasing after them.

The first person said my order was already with the courier and suggested I call the courier. Called the courier, and they have no item for me. Called Samsung Care again, and another person said my order was safe but hadn't been given to the courier yet, and said they had escalated this urgently. Assured me that somebody would call or email me. No call or email at all. Called them again for the third time, and they said that my specification and colour were high in demand and therefore would take longer to fulfill. Assured me that somebody would call or email me in the next 24 hours.

These were last week. What a load of crap. I ordered the standard colour (which was written as available for delivery on 19/20 of Sep, at the time of the purchase) and nobody from Samsung has even bothered to call today. Very unhappy and furious at Samsung Customer Care. Will put in a formal complaint through their website and perhaps their Facebook page.

Edit: Just wanted to say that I'm not happy as I can't take the new phone with me on my trip (sigh) as they missed the delivery date, but furious because they couldn't even be bothered to update their customers and have no clue where the goods are.

      • Yeah, same from me, call, chat, email so many time a day and just get a tracking number, it was claimed as miss delivery and delivered to local Post office on 20/09, will pick up tomorrow.
You can try to ask for the tracking number to see if you get the same. Good luck!

    • Same experience as you. Estimated arrival date was 20/09. I went on the chat every day since then asking for an update and was told that StarTrack picked it up but haven't generated a tracking number as yet. So I called Startrack and they tried searching by my address and phone number, they said that they have no packages due to me. Then today I see an update when I tracked my order on Samsung - it's been at the post office since 20th due to missed delivery - gate is locked. I don't even have a gate!

  • For future use, how can I get this targeted code? I have signed up for newsletter and have been using Samsung devices for ages, all registered in the Members app.

  • If I cancel my order, will the vouchers be redeemable again for new order?

    • Yes, it is.

    • Did your vouchers work again? Someone else tried and it didnt work

  • For clarity, when trading in, headphones = earphones? or not?
Has anyone selected headphones when generating the trade up code, but sent some bluetooth earphones (not earpods)?

  • Just got an email from Asurion, they have assessed the BT headphone i sent in, refund will be provided.
For Information, i select head phone, and send in a cheap BT headphone

    • When did u send ur's to Asurion & how long before they assessed it?

      • +1

I sent last Friday, and got email yesterday saying they have not received my device, despite Australia Post tracking showing it has been delivered, and to day got their email of the approved trade in.

  • wondering if wired headphone is also eligible?

    • I've just sent my in yesterday, we will see.

      • How did it go?

  • +1

I cant recall if the trade requirements said they had to be BT earbuds or just earbuds? TBH I cant see Asurion wanting to even touch or examine the traded earbuds, I wrapped mine in plastic fully expecting theyll be straight into a large bin of bio hazard waste;)

    • To answer my own question the $3 bigw wired buds were accepted no problems:)

      • How long after they received it did they confirm?

        • I think it was almost instantaneous. Got email it was received and then 15 minutes later another email it was approved. About 3 days after posting

  • Anyone still waiting for theirs, especially if you went with an online exclusive colour? I ordered the 256gb graphite on13th Sep with an estimated delivery of 4th Oct. My status is stuck on 'Preparing order'.

Though, I'm hoping it doesn't take too much longer as I'll be travelling from 14th Oct…

    • +1

I ordered 256 graphite as well with an estimated delivery of 12th Oct. Placed mine on 20th & got an email on 27th that It's been customized. Status says 'preparing order' but under details says 'customizing'.

      • Yeah I had the same lag in status. The details caught up from customising to preparing order status in a day or two.

Update: Mines just moved to shipped status looks to skipped straight to shipped but the details are stuck on preparing order.

Hopefully we'll have both of ours within the week

        • Yeah, I'm pretty sure you'll have urs next week as once it's shipped, then takes about 2 business days to be delivered. My wife got her ultra on 20th after ordering hers on 16th, status of her phone changed to shipped on 18th, although the colour wasn't online exclusive.

    • +1

I ordered my 256gb graphite on 8-9-23 and received it on Tues 26-9-23

    • I ordered the graphite 256GB on 9th Sept, changed status to preparing order on the 12th Sept and it arrived on 29th Sept (initially it said arriving 3rd October). Keep checking your order, it will eventually update to reflect date that it will arrive on.

  • So I got my phone on 11th and posted my phone on 13th Sept. The phone tracked as delivered on 22nd Sept but I kept getting the reminder emails. On Thursday, after getting the final email with return or we will charge you threats - I emailed them back on the two emails posted here and even submitted the online form but I got bupkiss from them. Is it worth reaching out to Samsung? What steps I can take if they charge me again?

    • In same situation mate. Contacting Samsung will be a dead end. They will say they can’t do anything and advise you an email to contact. A lot of us facing the same issue from Asurion. Not sure what the solution is.

    • It's only been 1 business day since you replied to the email and you want to reach out to Samsung? It's quite normal for businesses to take longer than a day to respond. If you were so worried, you should have replied to the first reminder email you got after tracking showed it had been delivered and that would have given you a few extra days.

    • Not worth reaching out. I tried. They transferred me to another department and I waited 20min for them to “look into it” and ended up being told they found no information about my trade up. Suggested me to email the trade up team, which I did, for twice. Still no one replied.

  • It's been 12 days since I've sent my phone to them and still no acknowledgement from Asurion. It was sent on the 20th and tracking shows delivered on the 26th.

    • Did you try samsung community?

Either via app on your samsung phone or https://r1.community.samsung.com/t5/discussion/asurion-trade…

Samsung staff occasionally jump in and help out;)

    • Same….I sent earbud and auspost says it's delivered a week back…Asurion emailed me twice that they are waiting for trading..

    • Same here… Delivered morning on 26 Sep. I tried talk to Samsung online chat, tried email the trade up team. Not helpful at all. All dead ends. And they are still sending me emails saying a late fee will be applied soon.

    • Mine was approved today so I guess it can take a while.
