    Damn…was hoping for a 20% off blus

    • I would've cried if they had 20% off Blu-ray, I bought the Harry Potter Wizard's Collection yesterday, 20% off would've taken off almost $100.

      • +6

Seriously? 20% off would be $100? Does the set cost nearly $500? That is much too expensive.

      • +4

Ouch man, HP Wizards sells at Zavvi for $275 http://www.zavvi.com/blu-ray/harry-potter-wizard-s-collectio…

I recall seeing it in JB for…higher.

        • +2

Even that's a rip. Got mine including delivery from Amazon UK for $235.

        • Can't see that price currently. However your could use a 10% off code at Zavvi (pretty common) and you'll be getting it for around $247.50.

        • DuplicAte.

      • +2

Why pay that much just if you want the blu-ray release of the Harry Potter movies when you can buy the Harry Potter complete 8 films blu-ray box set which works out currently to $44.10 including delivery. Who needs added DVD copies and all that waste of money.

        http://www.amazon.co.uk/Harry-Potter-Complete-Collection-Blu…

Some people want the limited edition collector items in it. My girlfriend went bonkers when she saw it - she has a heap of HP merch. Personally, it's not totally for me but for her birthday? Eh, why not?

      • +13

You should be crying right now. In fact, you should actually be banned from the website for wasting well in excess of $200 when you could have easily bought it from the UK.

        • This set isn't particularly the kind of thing I'd want coming from halfway around the planet. It's sturdy, but not invincible. Also, the UK edition has some disc pressing issues that would be rather difficult to have remedied from here.

        • +6

If you say so. You literally could have nearly bought two at for the money you paid here.

  • +8

No 20% off discs no point in going for me :(

  • Nice. Anyone know much about Car audio? Looking for a cheap one with front aux in and USB is preferable too but not necessary.
And would they be hard to install in a 2006 Toyota?

I can see there's a fairly cheap Sony one for $65.80. Anyone know much about that one?

    • +1

Can't really go wrong with a Sony deck but any name brand will do. Installation is either really difficult or really easy. The best way to do it is just buy a harness:

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Vehicle-Car-Stereo-Plug-Wiring-Ha…

That is an example of one but not sure if it is the right on for your car. The harness wire outputs are all the default colours on most decks.

If you can pay a pro guy to install it for $50 or so I reckon that is the easiest method. Just ask at the shop you are buying unit from how much they will charge and weigh it up against your time.

      • My friend was telling me that with a 2006 car it should be fairly easy, "all you have to do is match up the colours". $50 for installation sounds reasonable, but if it can be done myself with just a bit of research I'd rather do that.

I'll look into it a bit more because the $50 installation will make the whole unit $115.80 lol, but thanks for your input!!

        • I was just guessing at the installation price so who knows :D. They might use the lower priced head units as a way to get you in the door so they can try to ream you on installation fees and up sell other components. But if you are handy with electric type stuff you'll be fine.

Check out this site for some speaker deals:

          http://www.frankiesautoelectrics.com.au/

I don't know how they compare with other dealers but they've had some good deals in the past on here.

im fairly sure jb is something like $80+ these days for HU

    • Whoops screwed up the link, supposed to be this: http://www.jbhifi.com.au/car-sound-gps-navigation/super-satu…

    • Harnesses are, excuse the phrasing, TOTES AMAZEBALLS. Save you doing all the wire cutting and crimping in the car when you can happily crimp in the comfort of your loungeroom and then in car installation is super quick. post-crimping it only took me about 15mins to actually install the head unit in the car.

    damn, no discount on DLSR!

Was looking to pick up a new TV this weekend so this works out great. Thanks!

  • Does the 30% of home theatre receivers bring the price down for any systems to an OzBargain worthy level?

    • Just did a quck check for on the Yamaha RXV473B. Simple google search turned up a price of $699 at Sunnybank Hifi (Qld) Vs the JB Hifi price of $688 (inclusive of the 30% off). So price not so good

    • They have the Onkyo 515 for $900 odd, which brings the price down to $600 odd, which gets close to the kind of price you can get them for overseas (if you can find somewhere that will ship them to Australia). Nice specs for the price.

      • Should still be able to get them cheap from amazon.de. Got my Onkyo TX-NR609 for $491 AUD shipped back in January. Hasn't missed a beat!

        • Yeah that's what I had in mind, but it seems Amazon.de won't ship the 515 to Australia…

        • +3

Amazon DE have jacked up a lot of shipping prices in the last few months

Also, does anyone else find it sad that JB don't actually sell any hifi gear? Surely a few entry level stereo receivers + bookshelves could sell

      • My Nr-515 just arrived from computeruniverse, 381 euro delivered to Melbourne.Took 3 weeks!

        • +1

          Thanks Graybags!

A heads up for anyone looking to purchase an Onkyo receiver; I just bought the model up (NR616) for over $100 less than JB are selling the NR515.

          http://www.computeruniverse.net/en/products/90463599/onkyo-t…

It comes to €423 + conversions if paying by PayPal or credit card. I paid with PayPal and cost me $563 all up.

Keep in mind that the model JB is selling is the NR515AE(B), the letters at the end means it supports AirPlay, where as the one from ComputerUniverse does not.

  • No special for camera bag, right?

    • +5

Might seem a lot - but a lot of iDevice accessories are going to be going on firesale soon enough with the new dock connector on the iPhone 5 and new iPods.

  • +2

Time to see what price they'll do the Sharp 70" LED for…

    • Nice unit.. been drooling over those too.

    • +1

Is this the one where the pixels are the size of lego bricks? :)

      • +1

Exactly. It's still only 1920x1080 pixels. Unless you are sitting 40 metres away from your television I really do not see the point in TVs that are this ridiculously large. And until we get UHD TVs I would not even consider something this big.

    • Should be around $3100. The 80 inch is in store now…. $11k. Take off 15% still dear!

  • +1

Is their web page going to be adjusted to reflect the discount? I took a screen capture of the products I want from their webpage today, I'm bringing that jpg in to show them to make sure I get my discount.

    • It was last time and I can confirm the price I got was discounted off the price I saw well before the sale happened.

It is, in fact, a still unbeaten price that I got. Even with this sale.

  • Hey guys looking for a little bit of advice.

I'm all keen on getting a Samsung LED TV 50" (UA50ES6200) the 15% makes it about $50 cheaper than online. But with all my research people are still saying plasma for sport, movies and games…. specifically the ST50A series from Panasonic.

Can anyone recommend a good plasma about 50" from JB? or can someone tell em where i can get a ST50A series 50" for around 1200-1300 (as i've seen commented on OZB)

    • Dick smith have the ST50A, they bought the whole last shipment that came into Aus. Plasma is better for sport/movies/games IF there is not much direct sunlight, although the ST50A has a filter which is very good. If its a dark room naturally maybe just get the UT50A

    • last week got ST50A + extra glasses + 2 yrs extend warranty + Avatar 3d Blue-ray in $1370 from Dick Smith @ Parramatta.

  • Jb Knox ozone had some 42 " hd refurbs, for $349, soniq.. $296 with discount would be alright.

    • Excludes Soniq :(

  • +1

I was just about to order some of their 3-for-2 blu-rays when I noticed that JB are now charging delivery.

When did they stop offering free delivery?

    • +1

:/ They have?? How sad :(

    • bout 3 weeks ago

    • 0.99 cents I can live with

      • Wow. Not even a cent. That IS pretty good, actually.

        • +2

That doesn't make cents… Not even a dollar?

  • Anyone able to suggest a decent priced AV receiver? Just looking for a reliable one, our Yamaha has been going strong for over 28 years! I don't need it for sound quality. I just need to replace our old one as we still use a cassette tape deck. I think my staff would really appreciate me doing this, lol.

  • Just ordered a gps, still has free delivery. Must be dependent on what you order.

  • +1

Interesting - I picked up the JBL Onbeat in store last week. Was around $199 in store but online price (which they matched) was $168.
Now the online price is $199 excluding 50% off… Seems like they jacked up the online prices before offering the 50% off sale. Bid dodgy, but still might be some bargains to be had.

    • The TV I'm looking at is where I expected it to be during the sale and the pre-sale price was about right, too.

  • Anyone looking for a subwoofer I reckon the following is a good deal http://www.jbhifi.com.au/car-sound-gps-navigation/sub-woofer…

No pickup, only delivery - but when I bought mine I wasn't charged delivery only $88.20 (which was unexpected). Elsewhere it goes for ~$246+ (exc. del) aka. soundmaster.com.au / ryda.com.au

Interestingly on the same JBHifi Subwoofer page - they sell the 12" sub bare, and it is $172.90 ? Work that one out.

If it is a mistake and they don't honour the order I don't care - as I really didn't need it. :)

    • fyi this is a car sub - not for home 5.1 system.

      • Really?!… ;-) Looks like they have sent it after all w00t! Thanks JB

  • The Sony CyberShot DSC-W630 is now $125.80 originally $198 then $148 @ JB Hi-Fi Only until Sunday

  • Does anyone know if the prices stated on the website includes / excludes the discount?

    http://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-lcd-led-plasma/samsung/40-full-h…

Don't know if this is $848.30 (which is a lil bit cheaper than what it was) but $721.06 is an incredible steal.

    • Inclusive.

    • I bought this exact model… talked them down to $810 on Saturday morning. Probably could have done a little better but my toddler was starting to get grumpy (this may have actually helped in the negotiations).

      • Yup, I got mine for $820 as well but had to drive 15km out to the Brighton Shop as the one on Elizabeth Street was out of stock.

Great TV for the price and it was definitely worth the extra effort.

Does anyone know if the 15% off for digital cameras can still be applied AFTER the item's been price matched against another shop?

I've never price matched at JB before and hope to change that this weekend! Thanks….

    • why would they give you 15% off AFTER a price match? its not something they have to do and it would be silly for them if they did!

      • -1

Not silly at all really. The camera I want is $699 in quite a few shops. This is essentially the market price. (This is actual aussie stock, not grey market). JB says its rrp is $799. If the market price is $699, and JB matches that, surely it wouldnt be unreasonable to wonder if the 15% off the normal price from most shops is do-able?

  • Went to buy the Onkyo tx-nr515 but picked up an ex-display Onkyo tx-nr609 instead for $457. Still with full 3yr warranty, so pretty happy with that. Can't wait to set it up. Thanks OP.

  • Picked up the Pioneer VSX 522 for $258 and a free cleaning cloth. Not a bad deal for an A/V.
