Lenovo has just activated this weekend's coupon (not supposed to be live until Friday). Anyway it's WSSE21215 this time, and with ThinkPad laptops it get you:

  • 10% off* any ThinkPad laptop when your configuration is $599 or more
  • 15% off* any ThinkPad laptop when your configuration is $700 or more
  • 20% off* any ThinkPad laptop when your configuration is $2000 or more
  • 30% off* any ThinkPad laptop when your configuration is $3000 or more

With big gap between 15% off and 20% off, I think it's best to bring up a configuration close to ~$700. So here you go — this EDGE E330 light-weight 13.3" laptop for $606.05 delivered. You start with the middle $669 one, and then upgrade Hard Drive to "750GB Hard Disk Drive, 5400rpm" for $44 more (some might consider that as a downgrade thought, but you do need to get over $700 to trigger the 15% off). Also upgrade to "Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 (2x2 BGN & BT4)" for $0 when you have a chance. Here's the configuration:

  • Intel Core i5-3210M Processor (3M Cache, up to 3.10 GHz)
  • Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit)
  • 13.3" W HD (1366 x 768) LED, AntiGlare
  • 4 GB DDR3 - 1600MHz (1 DIMM)
  • 750GB Hard Disk Drive, 5400rpm
  • 1 Year warranty
  • 1.8kg, 2x USB3, 1x USB2 Always On, HDMI Out, No optical drive, etc

Coupon code also applies to other ThinkPad laptops except X1 Carbon.

If only these had a higher res screen option…

    • This is the only problem I have with this unit and also the reason it seems that I'll never own a lenovo!

I'm willing to pay for it… why can't I have it??!

  • Coupon code also applies to other ThinkPad laptops except X1 Carbon.

Was about to check to see if we could use it before I saw this :(

  • Check this out, looks like a 32GB SSD+, 500GB HHD drive as well as an i5-3317U, for $699 + free budget P/H.

EDIT: Only ships to US, sadly… :(

I don't recommend you look at Lenovo US prices, it's just too depressing

    is there a $400 deal?

  • Why oh why don't we have the IdeaPad U300/400 in Australia :( so much prettier :P

    • A Thinkpad shouldn't be pretty, it should be serious and tough

Ok, I like the burnt orange a bit

      • Haha yeah I saw the prices for the Lenovo US store and the notebook's not for me, it's for my girlfriend. The U300/U400 is more pleasant to the eye! Wish I knew the easiest way to get one over here :/

        • +2

BH Photo Video have the U310 / 410 and should ship here, but they look a bit different

  • System graphics : Intel HD Graphics

    Nope

    • With Edge series, only E430 and E530 have GT 630m as pre-configuration option. Intel HD 4000 should be good enough for most business uses, but these are definitely not the gaming laptops you're looking for.

    • +1

Well believe it or not but the newest Intel HD 4000 GPU in these is actually not half bad. Will play older games just fine, and modern games at low settings. Lenovo don't exactly make gaming laptops anyway ;)

      • I agree when it comes to integrated graphics you can't beat them. Of course no integrated graphics option will compete with a discrete graphics card when it comes to performance but it will knock its socks off when it comes to battery life and heat (which is important when it comes to laptops)

  • Last week the system over $3k was 34%…

    • +2

Yes… although I think the majority aren't looking for laptops costing more than 3k.

I am a student and I have ordered from them too. I am not using this laptop for gaming, only for uni work so HD4000 is enough for me. I got it up to $599.76 and here are my specs:

Intel Core i5-3210M Processor (3M Cache, up to 3.10 GHz)
Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit)
      13.3" W HD (1366 x 768) LED, AntiGlare, Midnight Black (without WWAN)
Intel HD Graphics (WWAN or mSATA capable)
      6 GB DDR3 - 1600MHz (1 DIMM)
      UltraNav without FingerPrint Reader
      500GB Hard Disk Drive, 7200rpm
      6 Cell Lithium Battery (E330)
Intel b/g/n Wireless & Bluetooth Combo

    • That is basically a HP g6-2113TU I got from Officeworks for $560-570 when JB Hi-Fi had them on sale for $600 (I got it price matched). I've heard a lot of bad things said about HP laptops mainly their durability but with those specs I could always just move them over to a desktop and maybe just sell the screen the SODIMM memory?

  • Good deal. If you aren't planning on using Windows, or already have a licence, you'll can get $51 back from Microsoft Australia for Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit).

Reject the Windows licence agreement and spend 15 mins online at their refund call-center (13 20 58)

    • hunmmm interesting!!! students (at least some) could get a refund (if possible) and get Windows 7 prof or Windows 8 for free from Dreamspark Premium(MSDN academic alliance).

  • Wasnt the e330 $400 recently? $600 seems expensive.

  • the external USB DVD is still $1 last I looked so don't forget to add that to the config.

These Lenovo deals are nothing to write on Ozbargain about. Give me that $799 Dell deal that was on a few weeks ago.

    • Can't seem to find the external USB DVD anywhere
