    • Sorry you needed prime

  • Needs prime to get it but showing up for me

    Great price, thanks OP.

Good price. Got one. Thanks, OP!

  • Annnndd it's gone

  • Whats the advantage in using a 65% keyboard over a full size keyboard?

Currently using a Corsair K70 RGB (Cherry MX Speed) - would this be a good upgrade?

    • +3

if you don't need a numpad, a 60/65/70% keyboard is no less functional than a full size. can take a couple days to get used to the function layers but i find it so much better for desk space and ergonomics. as for is this an upgrade over the corsair, yes and no. it is hotswappable so you can use any switch you like which opens up a HUGE plethora of options for switches. but the stabilisers would likely need some lubricating to really be an upgrade (which isn't hard to do but it might not be that much better out the box)

    • Yes. But do you use the number pad? If you do, maybe you should get a full-size. I love 65 and 75%

    • I previously went for a 65% as any games I played didn't need a full keyboard, it takes up less desk space, and when I needed to move the KB around, it was in a smaller package. For the average person you're generally better off with a full sized, unless you have a particular need for a smaller KB/don't ever use a numpad.

This isn't a wireless KB, but that type in a 65% is great for those with a couch or bed setup.

ergonomics - with a full size keyboard you are stretching your arm out to use the mouse. Over time this can lead to RSI, arm, shoulder, neck injuries. A compact keyboard helps alleviate this.

      • Am i the only one listening to this guy. You've opened my mind! Matt will fix it youtube channel on the way!

      • Yeah I use numpad all the time, but also contantly banging mouse into keyboard, and already have RSI, so this keyboard should be great. Also good for the tiny office hotdesks we're being forced back to.

      • Plus it lets you centre the alpha keys in the middle of the screen. Most people with a full-size have the alphas off to the left so the mouse fits.

      • I switched to using my mouse left handed when I started my first job, to help reduce the imbalance and injury risk over the course of a 40+ year desk job career. Crazy step to take, but 18 years in and so far so good.

  • Thanks OP, I was too slow. They're not kidding when they say "Limited-time deal"

  • Got one, thanks OP.

  • +3

Limited-time prime only deal on this DROP + Matt3o MT3 /dev/tty Keycap Set too looks like

    • Whats the difference between this and the original deal? No RGB?

      • +2

This one is just the keycaps not the whole keyboard

      • +1

It’s a keycap set, not a keyboard, just swaps out with the existing buttons on a mechanical keyboard to look nice.

Its slightly more expensive than the one OP mentions at the bottom of their post but looks better than just plain white imo.

        • Gotcha. Are the key caps clear?

          • @cyrax83: Clear as in the legends are legible? Yes? Up to personal preference

Clear as in your keyboard's RGB will shine through the letters? No, but RGB will still shine through the sides/around the keycaps.

    • Nice find!

    • Thanks. Got one as I already have the keyboard from a while back. Time for a keycap refresh.

    • Does anyone actually like Mt3 profile?
Tried it for a while and it was so sculpted, felt like I was playing piano.

      • And that's exactly why I like it! My fingers feel so comfortable.

    • How's blue compared to Cherry brown?

      • Blue = loud, clicky

Brown = quieter (not silent), tactile

Lots of sound tests on YT, always have the option to hotswap to better switches if you want later on down the track

  • This is really outdated by todays standard. 3 mode , gasket, knob, factory lubed switches, stabs etc

    • What would you recommend?

    • That’s what reviews were saying a year or two ago as well, however for the price I think it’s a good buy.

    • +1

True, but not everyone wants gasket or knob and VIA/QMK at this price is rare.

    • +4

That's true if you are a keyboard enthusiast. For those who wants to try a quality 65% mechanical, it's a solid deal to start with. It also allows some degree of modding if they're so inclined.

    • I have this. Sounds and feels like crap compared to anything current at the moment. Even foam and tape wont save this board

      • What would you recommend?

        • +1

Have a look at the newer models from the company Epomaker. https://epomaker.com They have a heap of different brands. Some of those brands have their own websites with different discounts too. They are pretty much starting to copy what Qwertykeys and Zoom are doing but at much lower price points. Good keyboards to start with. Next minute you will be spending 1k on a board lol. My keyboard backlog is starting to catch up to my PS5/xbox backlog lol

  • Is this a good alternative?

Keychron C1 RGB Hot-swappable Wired Mechanical Gaming Keyboard for Mac, Gateron G Pro Brown Switch/Double-Shot ABS Keycaps/USB Type-C Cable Tenkeyless 87 Keys Computer Keyboard for Windows Laptop https://amzn.asia/d/5Mjfext

    • Ye

    • If you YouTube this subject, you will quickly realise you can only answer this yourself because it's one peripheral you can either spend very little money/time on or go crazy at the enthusiast level depending on how important you rate this piece of equipment.

      • Any recommendations for under $200 (preferably 65%)? Or is that still not enough for something decent?

        • +3

Have a look at the 2nd hand market on discord. Both Daily Clack and Switch Keys (Aus retailers) both have discord channels for selling and buying. There's also a facebook keyboard group for buying and selling. The 2nd hand keyboard market is over saturated and prices are dropping pretty low for all ranges of boards. Obviously be careful and don't get scammed!

  • how do you guys live without a num pad?

    • Games don't need a lot of number input

    • Quite easily seeing as how I'm not entering numbers constantly.

      • Why not
