    And the Westpac bonus bit?

    • +3

Doesn't seem to be a thing, maybe it was a mistake copy from a previous post, or it's for Westpac Wedneday tomorrow.

    • +1
      • +2

Thanks for the heads up @noelhoi

  • +16

My last cashback at Afterpay promo is still calculating……

    • +1

Me too, never received the cashback if shown calculating from my experience. :-(

      • +2

Anything we can do? I read somewhere on Shopback's website that the problem is with the vendor (eBay in this case) - they don't supply information to Shopback. But of course, that's according to Shopback. I never had issues with any companies except eBay. I think I will stay away from the Shopback + eBay combo from now on.

        • This is what I found from the Shopback chatbot- "Specifically for eBay Australia order, any purchases with the use of Voucher / Coupon / Promo code will result in Cashback tracking at $0.00 (unless otherwise stated)."

I guess there is no hope.

        • @gotyourback, my cashback is still calculating. Any updates?

          • @bowser82: Hey mates, I've been updating the original thread for this one, we're still working with eBay to get the Cashback pushed through ASAP.

    • +1

Looks like they've figured out what the issue was and this should be resolved by tomorrow evening. See gyb's reply in the original ShopBack/Afterpay thread:

The last cashback is still in the "Calculating" stage … And they are back with another one … haha … Nahhhhhhh

    • I got 160 for apple laptop buy

  • +1

So all coupon codes are ok? Eg. $5 ebay plus voucher

    • +2

yeah cause they specific to yourself so they nullify cashback

  • +1

    Awesome! Thank you

  • I understand Best Offer accepted prices and Auctions are NOT eligible but what if you recieve an offer from the seller?

    • +1

Assume no. If feeBay didn't get full cut on the fees, no cashback for us.

    • That is basically best offer still

  • +11

Does anyone know if this will work with PLUSAUGSNS?

    • Would like to know this also

      • Anyone can confirm this?

        • +1

It shouldn't work, it clearly states that only listed codes are eligible (AUGG17/AUGG15).

  • For any category besides from the exclusions?

  • does this work with $5 ebay plus?

  • +3

I have yet to have an ebay shopback transaction ever be successfully tracked

  • +1

pity it doesn’t have additional bonus with Westpac card :(

    • +3

I'm seeing a 15% bonus ($25 cap) with Westpac ending in 12 hours?

      • Yeah I’m seeing this too - base rate isn’t changed though so not sure what rate I’ll actually get if I shop now with Westpac…

        • +1

Base rate increase doesn't take effect until 6pm, whereas the Westpac one appears to be active now.

      • YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

      • Could this be a mistake in the app? on the website it still says 2% Westpac bonus

        • @gotyourback

          • +5

@iMagoo: Hey mate, yep the 15% Westpac Bonus is online! The display was a bit delayed on the back end but will be valid for purchases made at any time today.

            • @gotyourback: Fantastic!
              Thanks @gotyourback - always prompt response 👍

            • @gotyourback: Hey gyb, this 10% is ok with the 17% code. Is the Westpac extra ok with the code as well?

              • @kulprit: As long as the upsize base tracks, Westpac will track as a separate line too

  • +3

Beware. My transaction did not track last time (Afterpay day).

    • +3

      me either

  • +1

What do you guys buy from eBay? I am a 2yo Plus member and have not been able to buy something of need.

    • Music vinyl, charger for rechargeable batteries, car parts eg light globe

  • I am always confused about cashback using gift cards for part payment.

If I buy a $50 eBay gift card and use it to pay for a $100 shopping cart:
    1. Do I get Shopback 10% (capped at $20) on the total amount of $100 ($10 off), or the $50 ($5 off)?
    2. If I use my Westpac credit card, it is confirmed that part payment still gets the cashback for the total amount, so in this example, I would get 15% off (capped at $25) off the $100

    your answer is greatly appreciated.

    • For eBay and Amazon they are the only 2 unique stores where you can part payment with GC and Westpac and will still get both the full amount of cashbacks. If you use $50 GC and $50 WP to pay $100 cart:

      1. 10% cb off $100 will track (base)
      2. 15% cb off $100 will also track (WP)

If you had bought that $50 GC with a discount of 10%, then point 1 will essentially have a further 10% off the $50 part of the cart, ie. $5 saving. Therefore it is recommended to pay as much as you can using discounted GC and pay tiny bit using Westpac.
If you had used $95 discounted GC (10%) to pay the $100, then you’d have saved $9.5 instead of $5 like in the first scenario.

      • Thank @noelhoi, much appreciated.

Yeah, looking to get a discount GC. I get it mainly from the Shopback gift card section, 2.5% off the Celebration Swap gift cards.

I haven't encountered 10% off eBay GC unless on promo, any other sites where we can get better than 2.5% off eBay GC?

I had a look here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/discounted_egift_cards but most require you to be a member of the organisation offering the gift cards.

        • You gotta keep a keen eye (or set alerts) for the occasional limited time/activation/redemption bonus cb that is thrown out there by either Shopback or Cashrewards (Super Swap from Shopback or Choice from Cashrewards). Sometimes you get Amazon/eBay direct GC deals as well. Just keep accumulating those and essentialy u have 10% off GC arsenal at your disposal.

        • @MAD for Everything currently active, be quick!

  • Does anyone know if code AUGG17 is eligible for cashback ?.

    • +2

yes its on the shopback list of discount codes

      • Thank you. Much appreciated.

  • +1

Anyone know if stacks with PLUSAUGSNS?

  • +1

Anyone else notice that Shopback disconnects tracking as soon as you go to cart?
Also clicking through Shopback to Ebay.com.au then clicking on your cart then directs you to Ebay.com (US).

This would explain why absolutely nothing is tracking via browser. Use the app?

    • I always use both apps and have no issues

  • Are all categories eligible for Cashback including Westpac bonus e.g Alcohol?

  • Will pass on this, still waiting for the last ebay/westpac to track.

    • Mine is still calculating.. yours the same?

  • How about PLUSAUGSNS

    • +9

      According to Live Chat

Thanks for waiting, upon checking the only approved promo code for eBay is this (AUGG15 & AUGG17)
Other promo code will invalidate the Cashback

      • Thank you!

  • Does the cashback apply to postage fees as well or only the cost of the item?

    • +3

my understanding is the cost of the item

  • -2

Can I pay with a Giftcard?

    • bruh.

    • +1

I guess people don’t read the description from OP :)

  • +4

now the wait to see if it tracked or I just paid RRP….

    • Not sure who negged you before. Corrected

  • Does using a store specific discount with a code affect cashback?

    • At checkout it shows up as a 'Discount' rather than a 'Voucher/coupon'

  • -5

    using AUGG17 trackable ?

    • +1

Reading the comments and description from OP help sometimes :)

      • -5

        so yes or no?

        • +2

Did you or did you not read the comments and what I wrote in the deal post?

Stackable with the following: 1 and 2

  • +1

Thanks. Brought down the price of Boozebud's Lagavulin 10 Travel Retail to become Travel Retail pricing ;)

  • My first purchase has tracked, now waiting on the second.

    • All three of my transactions tracked. Happy days

  • Still missing a second transaction, anyone else?

    • Missing 2 of 3, and apps were acting funky on me for both. Last one tracked.

  • Any idea why cashback tracks at not exactly 10%? e.g. bought a $100 item and cashback tracked at $8.94

    • Cashback excludes GST, and eBay report transactions to SB in USD, which is then converted to AUD.

      • Cashback excludes GST

This rule only affects items purchased from overseas as it's the only situation where eBay will collect GST and you will be shown the amount collected during checkout.

If you are buying locally you will never see a GST component displayed as it's up to the sellers themselves to handle their own GST if required. (not all sellers, especially private individuals, would even be registered for GST)

My local purchases (if they actually tracked at all) have tracked at either the exact amount expected, or at most there has been a +/- 5c discrepancy with purchases where I used a coupon, especially when multiple items were involved which I'm assuming is due to some sort of weird rounding.

and eBay report transactions to SB in USD, which is then converted to AUD.

This isn't true. If you have any eBay transactions on Cashrewards from back when they still did eBay, you will see the reporting currency for eBay Australia is AUD, as opposed to something like AliExpress which they report as USD.

        • I was fairly certain cashback exc gst.

As for the ebay report to Shopback in USD, I pmed GYB and that's what they mentioned to me.

          • -1

@Froggi: For most retailers it normally excludes the GST component
But for Amazon and eBay, the cashback is tracked against your order total regardless of the GST, unless you’re shopping from an overseas seller from what HomeAlone said above

I’ve transacted many times via shopback for these eBay deals, and it’s tracked based on your order total

            • +1

              @BargainsGrabber: Thanks for mentioning that!

            • +1

              @BargainsGrabber:

But for Amazon and eBay, the cashback is tracked against your order total regardless of the GST

On Amazon it can also go 2 different ways.

              • Items sold by Amazon AU include GST and the cashback works the same way overseas items on eBay. (no cashback on GST component)

              • Items sold by 3rd party stores don't include a GST component during checkout and the cashback works the same way as local items on eBay. (seller responsible for handling their own GST reporting)

          • +1

            @Froggi:

I was fairly certain cashback exc gst.

It does exclude GST, but when there is no GST collected by eBay on local purchases there is nothing to exclude.
            0% GST on $100 = $0

            $100 item purchased from overseas:

            • Shows up in checkout as $90.91 + $9.09 GST
            • eBay collects $9.09 GST and remits it to the ATO
            • Seller receives $90.91 minus selling fees
            • Buyer receives 10% cashback on $90.91 ($9.09)

            $100 item purchased locally:

            • Shows up in checkout as $100 with no GST component included.
            • eBay does NOT collect GST. It's up to the seller to handle their own GST reporting.
            • Seller receives $100 minus selling fees
            • Buyer receives 10% cashback on $100 ($10.00)

As for the ebay report to Shopback in USD, I pmed GYB and that's what they mentioned to me.

Excluding transactions where I have hit the cashback cap, this year I have:

            • 11x track at 1-5c less than I was expecting
            • 5x track at the exact amount I was expecting (These were all the ones where I didn't use a coupon)
            • 27x transactions track at 1-5c more than I was expecting

All up with those 43 transactions I've come up 67c ahead in total which would average to ~1.56c per transaction.

It's certainly possible that eBay reports in USD, but if that's the case then ShopBack have figured out a way to do the conversion with extreme precision as the tracked amount is only ever a few cents off at most in my experience, although I'm not sure how this would explain why the purchases without a coupon always tracked at the exact right amount.

  • +1

15% and 10% tracked just now, purchased 11:30 pm

    • Yup - now correctly tracked my 2x transactions that were using the AUG coupon

  • I bought an item at about 23:57 but eBay only sent the confirmation email at 0:01. It looks like the bonus cash back didn’t track (only seem to have got 2%). So the T&Cs are a bit misleading - it seems to not be purchase by midnight but actually get a confirmation from eBay (which looks like it’s not the quickest). I dropped a support chat to SB to confirm but they will take 14 days to get back to me (on pushing they said they will try to respond in 2), and haven’t heard back yet from a PM to gotyourback that I sent yesterday morning
