Saw this printer priced at $89 at Officeworks and a quick comparison shows it is $149 everywhere else.
Quite a deal if you are looking for a new printer.

If the recent scandal is anything to go by, it probably won't let you scan when the ink expires.
will this one work with fake cartridges smashed my epson last week.
Personally I didn’t have much luck with refilling. Had to throw it out. But ymmv
i think eco tank is the go. or i just buy a label printer and never worry again.
refilling did not work for me as well. Got 3rd party cartridges but those didn't work as well. Got Genuine ones from Amazon when were on sale which worked. So only genuine will work nothing else.
no
will only print 20 pages with the included ink… (if you are lucky)
fking scam
57 cents per page to print… (plus paper)
Love you jv for some quality investigations
Ecotank or nothing. I pour in aftermarket ink in by the litre lol
Or laser
laser costs more, both upfront and to run and is not very good at photos.
It does have sharper text though.
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING HP.
Damn I bought 4 x HP Omen gaming laptop posted here the other day.
And does it print? No. There you go.
I've been using a kyocera FS-1030D for 10 years and still going strong. It's basic - prints b/w only but after-market ink is cheap and the machine itself is bulletproof (metaphorically).
14-yr old Canon laser here. Sometimes it takes a few tries to switch on, but still going strong. No problems chugging aftermarket toners. Hate to sound old, but they really don't make things like they used to…
you're right. the printers they made 100 years ago really were far better.
Louis Rossman has ranted about HP printers for a few years now, mostly about their anti consumer practices of locking you out of common functions if your ink runs out and firmware updates that blocks cheap generic cartridges
The last printer I had was some $30 printer from Officeworks. I would use a syringe to refill aftermarket ink into the cartridge but after once or twice it'll software lock itself (maybe after a certain amount maximum of pages printed).
Agreed. Came here to link the same issues and warn people against buying their rubbish.
Vote with your wallets unless you want all printer companies to behave like HP
PSA: This requires an internet connection to print. Even if you're just connecting it to a pc via USB, it apparently still needs an internet connection.
Really though…. don't buy HP printers, they're increasingly anti-consumer, have expensive ink to push customers towards their "Instant Ink" subscriptions, and try and brick 3rd party ink replacements.
Avoid.
I've got an unused HP Envy Inspire 7920e I bought because I thought the purchase price advised here in OzBargain looked like an ozbargain. Then I discovered that I only had a choice of ink by monthly subscription from HP, or ink cartridges that cost a fortune. I packed it back up in the box it came in in case there was anyone who could use it, and bought a refurbished Epson Ecotank.
That said, the HP was quite well engineered and built. A lot solider than the Epson. But, well, the cost and/or hassles of ink. Forget it.
cheap scanner?
