  • what's the difference between blue and mint green? why is green a bit more expensive?

    • Blue is hero2 green is hero3.

      Edit:
      2.7” screen on hero2, 3.5” on hero3.
Hero3 has additional temperature monitor and nightlight.

camelx3 suggests this is the normal price it keep going down to often

Gopro oughta get into dababy monitor biz

  • Just FYI the sales rep told me these can only connect one camera at a time which is a deal breaker for me.

  • Would recommend, simple but useful

Second this, battery also last several hours on the parent unit!

  • I bought Hero2 in 2021 and it's been working fine so far. However, the battery can't be replaced (might need to unscrew it) so now, it doesn't last more than 1 hour even though it's been charged for a long time. Not sure about Hero3.

My 2c…First baby we had a dedicated baby cam…it was fine. Second baby we started using the same one however I ended up changing to a ~$40 IMOU Ranger 2 and a ~$40 30,000mAh Romoss powerpack and this works so much better for us. The quality, functionality, both of us can see from our phones without having to take the screen, the infinite distance (as it works over Wifi, may be a negative for some?), plus the convenience to move the camera between rooms (sometimes it is with baby, sometimes with toddler). I have also then the added functionality of a large powerpack which I have occasionally used when I don't need the camera plugged in.

With this camera, you can set up alerts, motion/sound detectors, timers, great night vision, can talk through it, plus you can add other cameras through the house if you wanted outside the baby monitoring scenario.

The one downside is that you have to charge the powerpack, for us that is maybe every 6th night use of 12hrs each night, but with quick charge the powerpack is done in a few hours.

    • When you leave home and have no wifi what do you do

      • well you'd have your little one with you right..? maybe i'm missing something

        • Yeah I don't know why anyone would buy a wifi monitor. The security risks outweigh every conceivable benefit.

Sure, a random Chinese product sitting on my network with the bonus of it streaming audio and video out of my home. No thanks.

We bought a non-wifi monitor from Amazon and it's perfect. Matches with a second camera, has point and tilt, and charges by USB-C. Most of all, it doesn't connect outside our home.

    • thanks, i'll be looking into these range of wifi cameras
