Just remember folks, if you use these past you may need to pay the extra for a seat reservation for certain routes. Also best to book in advance. Don't leave it last minute like me.

    Happy travels!

Absolutely. Usually you are OK but if you are booking the scenic trains in Switzerland the booking is, normally, compulsory. Also if you end up on a crowded train you might not even get a seat in second class. We ended up standing in a corridor from Verona to Vienna and I stuffed my knee when I stepped back to try to get out of someone’s way and fell down the steps. I had to wear a knee brace for the rest of the trip.

Train travel in Europe is terrific, especially the scenic trains in Switzerland. Generally we get a pass that is a certain number of days over a one month period. We use it to go the longer distances and then use the local trains for short trips. If you are game you can, also, rent a car but we usually pick that up at the outskirts of a city. Driving in Rome and Paris is not recommended.

Please do not buy tickets from these charlatans, shockingly bad service. The app asks you to reserve seats (at extra cost) for trains that either not full not even running! I activated the pass, realised I didn't want to use so never used it once and they have continually refuse to refund my money for two passes at over $1000 because I didn't cancel the day I activated. Terrible service to charge for something that has clearly never been used. Met many travellers in similar situations. Avoid at all costs.

Did you read T&C or FAQ before buying? Klook says this:

Can I cancel or amend this booking?
Please note that there is no refund available on partially used or activated passes.

Eurail website says essentially the same thing and also defines the activated pass:
We can only grant refund requests for non-activated mobile Passes – your Pass is considered activated if the first and last day of validity is defined. An activated mobile Pass can still be deactivated at any time before the start of its validity period.

I don't think it's a bad service at all. You would have been treated the same even if you have bought from the official website.

I calculated pre- booking the train tickets was cheaper than buying this pass because of the reservation fees. Got us all on the Santas Express for 90E family of 4, but the reservation fee alone is 200E. Same with Eurostar.

    • It just depends on how in advance you are planning your trip. For me the difference was marginal so we decided to go with the pass to have that extra benefit if we miss any train

    • Reservation fee for seats is 10 Euro pp. The reservation fee of 200 Euro is for 2 x Sleeper cabins.

This site is probably worth a look if you are travelling by train.

  • Newbie 10 code does not work with this deal.

Love klook deals on Eurail Global pass. Used it last year as well.

Eurail pass is a great product and generally works out cheaper than advance train tickets that are non-refundable.

Man in seat 61 is the BIBLE for train travel and highly recommend.

    • it did work for me Link

It’s not working for me either - how did you get it to work?

        • +1

You have to add an Australian number to your profile, and then the code works :)

          • @mrdunu: Thank you! Tried to chat to support and they couldn't work it out

    • Code not working for me either, it is in the "not available" tab. I think it might have something to do with the region your new account is set to..

It depends on where you are going. It's way cheaper for us to buy tickets direct. Munich to Frankfurt only €60 for family of 5 on the date we need to travel.

Eurail would cost us aud $4k. The only pricey segment is Eurostar so we decided to fly from Luton to Paris. But I think the internal flights and trains is around $700 compared to the Eurail $3k

    BEWARE:

These passes have short validity. Activation is a maximum of 3 months from purchase.
The regular passes (Not on Sale) allow activation date to be set up to 11 Months from purchase date.

I unfortunately found this out the hard way…. two passes now cancelled with only an 85% refund.

Obscure wording on Klook: Participation date vs Eurail Validation and activation dates.

1 month Passes purchased today are valid for 1 month of travel completed no later than 18 December.

    • Thanks for the heads up.

    • It says the last activation date is 17 Nov. So would I be able to activate it on the 17th in the app(?) even though I will be in Europe on the 20th?

      • To anyone interested: yes you can, I have just activated the voucher for 17th Nov start - 16 Jan end.
