  • I'd spend the extra on the CR800 for other features

    • do you think $45.89 is a good buy?

      • It does battery testing as well so yeah I think so

        • +2

          The battery test looks dubious

          • @edrift: Actually agree

            • @spy: Fwiw as well I've had good experiences getting battery tested for free at the shops

  • This or the bluetooth ones that have an iOS app?

    • +4

I prefer Bluetooth ones as you get the latest app. I have Torque

Cannot speak for this one specifically but most of these come with a link to a website of some description where you can update the scanner. Although updates are a bit of a nonissue because fault codes don't change their meaning and the majority of cars don't even get updates.

      Any links or recommendations?

  • Better than the cheap 5$ small blue odb2 reader? Or functions just about the same

    • +1

      Same

    • +2

Those cheapies are the best coupled with Torque Pro

    • +2

The $5 bt one is better as you can datalog to your phone

  • How about that Nonda Zus OBD2 reader that does most jobs too. Or is this better?

  • This is just another reskin of the same OBD reader system. Nothing special about this one over any other Amazon/Ebay/ali express offering. Just buy one of those bluetooth adapters and download an app as this will have the same functionality but in a much clunkier user interface. I already have several different versions and have stopped buying because one is no better than the other.

I have something similar to this, far prefer over the cheap bluetooth ones I have - its nice its a standalone tool that doesnt require a phone and app.
