Grammarly Yearly Premium TRY₺969.99 (~A$55) @ Grammarly via Turkey (Android Keyboard App Required, VPN Not Required)

360

Wife is studying so need Grammarly, subscribed previously paid tooooo much!

Long story short, the method via IOS posted here cannot be achieved as all our IOS are too old to install Garmmarly IOS version (need IOS 14 or above).

I had a Turkey google account when signed up for the Disney+, full credit to that Post.

Managed to simply downloaded Grammarly keyboard app, logged in with the Turkey google account. Then signed up with 'local' price, logged in with the same account in PC and SWEET!

Copy the steps from the Disney+ deal, alter for Grammarly below:

  1. Create new Google account on phone
  2. Delete cache in Google Play Store (not sure if needed)
  3. Select new account in Google Play Store
  4. Add payment method and select Turkey as Country.
  5. Uninstall Grammarly if you have it installed. (not sure if needed)
Open Google Chrome/browser on your phone in an incognito window. Set your window to desktop mode. Don't need to
  6. Search Grammarly Keyboard on Google Play store and install it.
  7. Open app on phone and log in with Google account created in step 1.
  8. The premium price shows in TRY (969.99/Annually). Pay with Australian credit card

Below steps are required if Grammarly is used on PC
9. Go to my PC and install Grammarly.
10. Log out if previously logged in as different account.
11. Log in with the Google account created in step 1.
12. You may have to repeat step 10 and 11 in different apps if previously logged in with different account.

p.s. Haven't seen the actual AUD from my credit card account yet, will report actual amount when it shows.

why does turkey get stuff so cheap? not complaining i got the cheapest games pass ever but genuinely curious

    • +15

Go to Turkey and the answer will be obvious.

      • Care to tell us instead of spending and traveling there?

        • +5

Because Australians are suckers who would pay full price!

          • @askbargain: For most things like fuel and electricity and such can't help it. Buy for movies.. yeah instead of buying DVDs just download it via your fav watering flow holes.

          • @askbargain: its not true, paid foxtel for years and watched good aussie shows
its now time to explore new things thats what people are doing it

Ok I answered my own question.

        https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/compare_countries_resu…

        Wow just wow

        • Time to move to Turkey.

    • +6

      His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdoğan

    • It's economics, people's earnings vs spend capability, we have a stronger currency that is one reason, another is they don't make as much money to afford the same luxuries so it's cheaper there

It's literally like why is Bali the next go to travel destination, because it's cheap there.

      • Bali is just another Australian territory isn't it?

        • Without a the benefits yeah. Sending all our convicts there

    • its called Turkish delight !!!

I honestly don’t understand why “journalists” don’t use this. Then again, basic Word spelling and grammar checking would pick up 90% of their terrible English mistakes.

Just no shits even in that industry anymore it seems.

    • -1

Would you rather read fluff or actual content?

      • +1

It shouldn’t matter what the content is, spelling and grammar is always important. Especially if you’re literally getting paid to write the content.

    • -3

looking forward to the day when news.com.au/buzzfeed/kotaku journalists are replaced by AI

I use ChatGPT for proofreading, pretty good

    • The ChatGPT iOS app also allows paying in Lira, so just under $7 saving ($28 instead of $35).

  • So Visa Exchange Rate Calculator puts it:

    TRY₺969.99 = AUD$56.23

    • -1

I pay about 60 USD so it's cheaper but not significant

      • +5

I'd say its significant if you're paying 60 USD

        USD $60.00 = AUD $93.64

        • -2

          Yes and no

Most other Geo tagging deals usually save over 50%, sometimes close to 90.

Your wife should check to see if their education institute provides Grammarly Premium.

    • only office 365's and lucky if you get Mcafee for local Unis

      • Depends on your institute.
Mine provides many software benefits for staff and students.
Grammarly Premium being one of them.
A lot of them aren't advertised much though, that's why I recommended checking with them first.

  • +1

anyone use this for work emails etc? is it worth it?

    • +4

Yes, it's worth it. If you're a grammar nazi, absolute delight.

  • +4

I used Grammarly, no doubt it's good but I prefer ProWritingAid.

    why?
    - Pay once, use for lifetime. If you buy during BF it's 40-50% off.
    - It now has text rephrasing, very handy, saves paying $120/yr for WordTune/QuillBot like features - https://prowritingaid.com/introducing-rephrase

Another alternative is to pay for Microsoft 365.
6 family members, each get 1TB OneDrive space, access to all MS offline + cloud apps + access to Microsoft Editor (competitor to Grammarly) - just $90/yr AUD and you can stack for 5yrs.

    • I got Microsoft 365 premium (Office 365 E1) but my refinements tab is still grayed out, do you know how to fix??

Does pro writing aid integrate with Outlook app??

  • +3

not worth it, use bard or chatgpt instead!

  • thanks worked for me. Got charged $55aud.

  • Anyone had their Google account stop them from purchasing things from the Turkey playstore? I had 2 that worked for over year but now they both give me an error "Couldn't complete your purchase. Check that you have the correct country selected in your Play account."

  • I keep getting something went wrong, I have trying to for 2 hours (no exaggeration)

  • I tried 3 different google accounts and it keeps giving me error that transaction couldn’t be completed. I cleared google play store storage etc. Dang, I wasted so much time on this.

    • Initially I added another acct to an existing acct which didn't work. Then I logged out of everything then created a brand new one and followed the steps and this worked for me.

      • I think I may done something similar. I signed out of the existing account leaving no account —> cleared data —> entered in new account (fresh google account). Might try again later, thanks!

      • Follow steps (ignored some before like 7 but followed all) - still got same error

        • +1

It's not just you unfortunately. No Turkish/Pakistan play store purchases are working right now.

      • Did you have to remove your normal account from your phones account settings?

  • Too expensive even for the Turkey price. How can this cost $45AUD monthly? That's ludicrous

    • 55aud pa not pm

  • Do we need to add an address in Turkey - Google is asking for one?
Is it better to use one of the prepaid CC for this?

    Thanks.

  • Sorry for the possibly dumb question, but how do you get the prompt to buy premium?

I've followed the steps above and have my Turkish Play account and have the app. The app listing shows that items can be purchased in Lira at the price listed in the title.

I just can't see any button or option in the app or Play Store do buy it!

  • is this still working show as USD now.

    • +1

Are you seeing prices on Grammarly app or on chrome?

  • Does anyone know if this still works?

  • How do you upgrade to premium using the Grammarly keyboard app on Android?

I've followed all the steps and have installed the Android App. The App doesn't give any option to upgrade.

    • Excuse the late reply - if you're haven't solved this yet you need to enable the Grammarly keyboard in Android settings, switch to the keyboard and then go to settings from there.
