yes, has to be done via the link, or apply using the $150 cashback deal from One big switch (sign up to be able to get their deals to your inbox)…just stay on the deal until at least 1st March and you will get a $150 cashback as well as 11% off the standard rate. Just click on the link on their website and log into your Origin account to change plan

      https://onebigswitch.com.au/offers/energy?utm_campaign=newsl…

      • Hmm just signed up but can't see the origin offer on their page?

        • they will send a newsletter every day and you can click on the energy deal through that.

          • @souths123: appears to be for sumo energy, not origin…

            • @evasive: they definitely have deals for Origin. I clicked on that link and even though you have to log in to see the deals, it shows Origin on that page

              • @souths123: Not for me - maybe it’s different per location?

                • @evasive: maybe. Without seeing what your page shows, I don't know. I just know when I go to their main web page, without signing in, it shows a deal for Origin. Obviously you have to either click on the link in their emails to access the actual deal, or log in.
Actually, come to think of it, I have a feeling that this deal isn't available in certain states…prob because those states already have cashback deals through their state govts in various ways. NSW only have that for pensioners and low income households I think.

                  • @souths123: Yeah. I can also see it prior to login but it disappears when logged in and the only energy offer is sumo.

    • What’s the FIT? Yeah it’s normal these days. They gotta rip you somehow.

  • *Credit offer: Not available in Victoria or ACT. Offer available to residential electricity customers who sign up to Origin Friends and Family offer online. One credit per electricity account. Credit applied to new customer’s electricity account after 15 January 2024 if the electricity account the customer signed up to is still active. Credit is non-refundable. If you end your plan before 15 January, you will not receive any credit.

  • I changed to Origin a month ago, and they instantly changed to this new deal for me online. Good find OP.

Just changed my current plan, thank you :)

    North Strathfield, Sydney:

    Daily Supply
    81.17 ¢/day

    General Usage
    31.18 ¢/kWh

  • It's been a while, sorry if I'm commenting on an old thread.
I switched to Origin in December using a similar plan to this, and already got their 150$ credit, however I haven't received my first bill yet as it's not 3 months. However, I found another supplier that's cheaper (Globird) and I wanted to switch to them.
Is it ok to switch to another supplier even when I haven't receive my first bill?

  • I found out that I am currently paying a higher rate than currently advertised on their website under the same plan. Would encourage every one to check they are getting the correct rate

  • Is this a good plan I am in SA

    Supply Charge
    Daily Supply
    91.35 ¢/day

    Peak
    47.45 ¢/kWh
    Off-peak

Can't say without knowing your usage. It's a decent rate for SA, but do a comparison on Energy Made Easy. Depending on your usage Globird for example is likely to be cheaper:

      Supply Charge
      Daily Supply
      $1.287 / Day
      Usage Charges
      Peak
      41.47 ¢/kWh
      Off-peak
      23.1 ¢/kWh
      Shoulder
      23.1 ¢/kWh

    Current customer. Canberra here.
I can't see the discounted price when I punch in my (apartment) address? They are showing higher than I pay currently 🤔

    • Yeah me neither

    • Same here for Canberra
      Daily Supply 97.48 ¢/day
      General Usage 24.14 ¢/kWh

      • same here. I wonder why others get cheaper rates? I am keen to sign up on a variable time plan

  • Unfortunately Solar Feed in Tariff is 5c on this plan, as oppose to 10c on Solar Boost but the rates are cheaper (37.25c/kWh vs 29.06c)

  • What happens if I have a higher Feed in Tariff and change to this one, can I still keep my current solar FIT?

    • +1

      Nope

  • I switched to this very easily. Very tiny change - 0.297 c/kWh and 1.21 c/day difference, but it took only a minute.

  • Looks like no more credit for NSW customers. I am better off with AGL with $225 sign up bonus per fuel.

  • +1

This is what it’s giving me in VIC

    3.30 c/kWh solar feed-in tariff
Standard retailer feed-in tariff incl GST where applicable

    Supply Charge
    Daily Supply - 113.51 ¢/day

    Usage Charges
    Peak - 40.09 ¢/kWh
    Off-peak - 21.36 ¢/kWh

    • That's what I got aswell.

      Ovo was way cheaper at:

      Supply charge (¢/day):
      95.15
      Peak (¢/kWh)
      34.98
      Off Peak (¢/kWh):
      15.95

      • $120 credit.

Ausnet seems to suck ass universally though:(

      • are you going to swtich cuz Ovo is giving good rates to me too in VIC

        • Yeah I switched and used a code from the referral link, so It's $10 credit a month for 12 months.

No other supplier came close to the rates :(

          • @Raphete: Even though I think the prices for Ovo aren't locked, I signed up. Hopefully I can change again if they jack the price. Used the referral link too, hopefully someone on the site gets a credit too!

      • Are Ovo upping their rates tomorrow like the rest of the energy retailers tho?

        • Prices are locked for 12 months if you sign up.

          • @Raphete: Read the T&Cs. The fine print says they reserve the right to change what they charge for your energy supply and will notify you if that happens.

            • @serpserpserp: Yeah that's a standard clause, but they won't do a price review for another 12 months.

        • I just signed up to Ovo and rates were as above still.

    • General Usage 25.960 cents per kWh
Daily Supply 102.894 cents per day

  • what i get for Prestons NSW 2170

i've got AGL atm but my daily supply charge is 89.12 cents

  • Any good deal for SA?
can't find good deal with decent solar feed in rate.

  • Seems expensive and found the deal on https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/851341 to be much better. Comes with $200 Credit on First Bill as part of warm welcome plus another $50 for referral bonus for switching electricity to Momentum Energy (also get another $50 bonus credit if you switch gas too but wasn't worth it for me).
Note that if you are switching to Momentum Energy deal as posted on https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/851341 - you will need the referral code & their full name to get the $50 referral bonus.

    • Powershop (via One Big Switch) have a $150 sign up credit..

Same deal..shocking day rates. Work on the credit is chewed up at $35 per month with the inflated day rate. But another option for the churn n burn world.

    • I found energylocals cheaper than other in SA.

Let me know if someone wants referral link.

      • +1

Pacific blue is the cheapest for me in SA

  • Wow those daily supply charges are insane. At least 30% more expensive in Victoria. Not really sure why.

  • I don’t see an off peak price just 0-12 , 12 onwards

  • Thanks OP

  • I am in Canberra and for some reason I cant get the rates that others seem to be getting? Any advice?
