Bought the 6 piece spanner set today ($15 with the $10 club member credit). I can comment on the quality.
The casing itself is a black satin finish with gold 50th anniversary logo. The hinges are pretty low quality, doesn't have the snap that sidchrome kits have.
Inside there is black foam padding, probably excessively padded but that might not be a bad thing.
The spanners themselves are black chrome vanadium, which suggests they're slightly better treated and should last longer. They are very much on par with the black stanley series if you have ever seen them. The only downside is that my set came with this greasy oily residue presumably from the manufacturing process, but after a good clean with isopropyl alcohol it came off.
Overall good set for the price, other manufacturers would normally charge around $30-40 for this set so i would consider this a bargain.
Btw this isn't online only but you will have to ask the store salesperson as they keep them behind the counter not on display.
Lol I'd get that for my boyfriend - he's got a coupla nuts that need tightening - but I guess he'd best get rid of my thumb print on his forehead first. One thing at a time.. baby steps. ;D
