IMPORTANT UPDATE 26 JULY 2023: RE Method 2

OlduBil: "Transfers from foreign bank accounts to our bank accounts in Turkey are not possible".

  • OlduBil is no longer accepting deposits/transfers from foreign bank accounts. Please DO NOT make any transfers into OlduBil (i.e. your Türkiye Mastercard) until further notice!

  • If you already have the funds in OlduBil from a previous transfer, you are free to continue with Method 2. For those wanting to top up your Türkiye Mastercard, please DO NOT initiate any transfers into OlduBil from Wise or Revolut until I have a new update

  • For those who do not have funds in OlduBil and wish to utilise Method 2, I'm afraid this is no longer possible at this point in time. Every transfer done is at your own risk!

Background:

Modern problems require modern solutions. Like Xbox Game Passes, Youtube, Netflix, Discord, Google One, Microsoft 365, relocating (virtually of course) to Turkey is usually the best option, with some methods saving hundreds or thousands of dollars each year added up. The processes below are very easy, just take it slow and you'll get there! Just remember you'll be saving hundreds at the end of the day.

Due to a price increase by Spotify worldwide, my previous guide has expired. But no worries, this guide is now better than ever, and combines the two methods together (Google Pay for those who want to use Australian Cards, or Virtual Türkiye Mastercard for those who can't do the Google Pay method) as well as providing more information on extra plans and family systems. There will be some screenshots throughout the sign-up process for OlduBil(see screenshots in the instructions section) from previous testing - and yes, I can confirm the validity of these methods because I don't spend money for nothing. Most important thing - Türkiye is still very cheap!

Thank you so much for all your support and previous comments (I love reading them)! Any comments, concerns, suggestions or feedback are welcome :)

Instructions – Method #1 via Google Pay (Android Required) – If you want to use your Australian debit/credit card

Note: If you currently subscribe to Google One or any other Google services via Türkiye, then you may already have a Türkiye payment profile in your Google account. If this is the case, you may not need to do Part 1 at all (go straight to Part 2).

If you have an existing Google account and don't want to create a new Google account, simply add a new Türkiye payment profile into your Google account (not ideal for Google accounts where the sole user is an Android user or the family system consists of Android users - see why in the notes section of this post. You can create a new payment profile by following these steps: go to https://pay.google.com/gp/w/u/0/home/settings and clicking the pen icon next to "Country/Region" and a link to create a new profile should pop up. You can then add details for the Turkish profile (If needed, use a fake address generator to obtain a random Turkey address).

If you don't have an Android device, and would still like to use your Australian debit/credit card via Google Pay, consider this BlueStacks method by @langh using a PC.

Part 1 – Creating a new Google account

  1. Create a new Google account on your phone.

  2. Delete your Google Play Store cache (this may not be required). If you don't know how to, please see Google's instructions.

  3. Select your new Google account in the Google Play Store app to switch over from your personal account or add it in if it's not there (to do this, click on your top right icon, then click the dropdown next to your account email, then click "Add another account"). Make sure the selected account is your new Google account.

  4. Add a new payment method and select "Turkey" as the country (to do this, click on your top right icon again, then click "Payments and Subscriptions", then click "Payment methods"). If needed, use a fake address generator to obtain a random Turkey address for the payment profile. You can use your Australian debit or credit card (or any card as you wish) and best to use a card with no international transaction fees (Suncorp and Latitude Platinum have no international fees).

Part 2 – Subscribing to Spotify Premium

  1. Boot up the Spotify app and click "sign up" or "log in" with VPN off. If you don't have the Spotify app, download it from the Google Play Store. See link here.

Can I sign up with my Australian Spotify account? - Yes! Simply log in (make sure your current subscription, if any, is cancelled).

  2. Turn on VPN and connect to a server in Türkiye (see Notes section for suggestions) and leave it on for the remainder of the steps below.

  3. Boot up the Spotify app again. Click on the premium tab on the bottom right of the home screen. Select the plan you want. Scroll down to the bottom and make sure the country is set to Türkiye. If it's Australia or another country, click the dropdown and change it to Türkiye.

Alternatively, go to your Spotify account settings on a web browser and check what country is selected. If it's Türkiye, you're good to go. If it's Australia or another country, click the dropdown and change it to Türkiye. However, you still have to double check on the app again on step 3.

Country dropdown box greyed out? - I bet you have a current Premium subscription running? If so, this will have to finish. You can't make changes to your location while Premium is running.

  4. Click on "Google Pay". Complete the Google Pay confirmation prompt to subscribe. Your debit/credit card should already be preloaded (add one if not). If requested for an address, please use your Australian address (new Spotify accounts - family plan sign-ups).

If you get an error, trying clicking the "change plan" option and re-select your plan. Muck around with it a little… Turn VPN on or off etc.

  5. Fly back home and turn off your VPN. YOU'RE DONE! WOOO! Enjoy your savings :)

Part 3 - Family Members (Family plan only)

  1. On the main account (plan manager), go to: https://www.spotify.com/tr-tr/account/family/ to obtain an invite link. Ensure the address listed is your Australian address (DO NOT use a Türkiye address)

  2. Get a family member, friend, bf, gf, or whatever person to accept that link. When requested, enter in the same address as listed in Step 1.

Error? "You need to live at the same address? It looks like you’re trying to join Premium Family from a different country. Premium Family is only available for family members that live together. Try again when you’re at the same address."

Simple solution - go to the relevant Spotify account on a web browser and check what country is selected. If it's Türkiye, you're good to go. If it's Australia or another country, connect to a VPN server in Türkiye, then refresh the page, click the dropdown and change it to Türkiye. Accept the invite again and it should work. You can turn off VPN after this.

Instructions – Method #2 (If you want to use your Virtual Türkiye Mastercard)

Türkiye-based Virtual Mastercard REQUIRED

Please read the following instructions carefully. If you already have a Türkiye-based Virtual Mastercard via OlduBil, proceed with the following instructions. If you do not have a Türkiye-based Virtual Mastercard, STOP HERE and see how to get one here in the instructions section (Part 1 and Part 2): https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/784047. I'm in the process of making a wiki page on the Türkiye-based Virtual Mastercard via OlduBil, so stay tuned!

Notes: The Spotify sign up pages may be in Turkish (which is easily navigatable if you have some common sense). Feel free to translate the page to English otherwise.

Part 1 – Subscribing to Spotify Premium

  1. Log in to Spotify (VPN off), or make a new account (VPN off).

  2. Turn on VPN and connect to a server in Türkiye (see Notes section for suggestions) and leave it on for the remainder of the steps below.

  3. Go to the Spotify Premium plans page.

  4. Scroll down and select the plan you want. Proceed to pay with your Turkey-based Virtual Mastercard. If requested for an address, please use your Australian address (new Spotify accounts - family plan sign-ups).

  5. Fly back home and turn off your VPN. YOU'RE DONE! WOOO! Enjoy your savings :)

HELP POINT: Because the popup payment windown cannot be translated to English, here are screenshots of the process in the following order: (1), (2), (3)

Part 2 – Family Members (Family plan only)

ISP Notes (Important)

  • If you currently have a Spotify Premium subscription, simply cancel the subscription and you'll be able to resubscribe via Türkiye. If the current subscription is a family plan, simply cancel the subscription and once you resubscribe via Türkiye (do not let the subscription expire), the entire family system will remain intact and no futher changes will be necessary.

  • Most VPN services will connect to Türkiye, unlike India. Those include NordVPN, Private Internet Access (PIA), free Windscribe Chrome extension (recommended), free UrbanVPN Chrome extension (recommended), ExpressVPN, etc. If one doesn't work, use another VPN.

    • If you're using Windscribe and it shows different currencies: keep turning the windscribe on and off. Each time you don't get TL, turn it off and on, then refresh the Spotify sign up page. You'll eventually land on TL. Go to https://whatismyipaddress.com/ each time you turn it off/on and see if you land on Istanbul.

FAQ

Q: Will I need to turn VPN on everytime I listen to Spotify?
A: No! You no longer need to have VPN on every time you use Spotify Premium. VPN is only required for sign up. After sign up, use Spotify without a VPN.

Q: I got charged a different rate compared to the prices on this post. What happened?
A: Due to foreign exchange rates constantly fluctuating, prices will differ by several cents each month

Q: I have an existing Spotify account, can I use the same email?
A: Definitely!

Q: Is signing up to Spotify Turkey going to affect my Spotify library/catalogue?
A: After setting up this sub, you may or may not notice the Spotify catalogue/recommendations may be weird with brand new regional music, etc… but your Spotify catalogue will adjust to what you’re listening to and soon it will look like nothing ever happened

Q: GST/VAT and Tax related questions?
A: Don't worry, there really isn't any tax you need to worry about.

Could not get it working using Method 1. Has anyone been able to use Method 1 lately to get it working?

    • +1

I was able to sign up using Method 1 last night.
Had to log out of my main profile and leave the Turkey profile signed in. I kept getting an error after the step where you pick Google Pay and select payment method.

Reached out to Google Support via chat and was told they would get back to me soon. I tried again about an hour later and was able to get past the error and subscribe.

Also got an email today from the support team that the issue has been resolved. So it's definitely something they need to unblock before it can work. Still on my one-month free trial, will have to wait and see when the first payment is processed next month.

      VPN - NordVPN
      CC - 28 Degrees
      Phone - Pixel 1

      • Thank you for confirming

I reached out to Google via chat and got an email later that there are some inconsistencies and can’t be helped.

My Google account is set to Türkiye and already subscribed to YouTube via Turkiye

FYI - my monthly payment to Spotify just went through! Yay.

  • How do I top up? My Oldubil needs a top up and I used Revolut directly originally.

On this new thread, I read Oldubil is changing where we can't continue using it? My payment is due and not sure what route to go.

Needed to upgrade for the family so I ended up cancelling my individual plan (tried upgrading plans didn't work) since I wanted the same account to be the family manager. This was how I did it the first time. I tried the same method again, with a fresh Google account and various VPNs, except for maybe Nord and Express.

It didn't go through for me for both Revolut and Up cards, and I keep getting the "Something went wrong … Contact Help Center" with my two main Spotify accounts. Made another Spotify account in the end, and got the "secure your account" prompt when trying to pay. I've tried to disconnect before paying and that didn't work either.

Just sharing my experience and hoping for a solution.

With all these deals I have lost the ability to count the Google accounts I own with both hands.

  • Finally managed to get Spotify premium (Family) using the method 1. Took me 3 goes getting on the chat with Google and them seemingly unblocking.my payment method.

Used Nord for VPN - reset my spare android phone completely, then copied Nord VPN Apk to my phone and only then turned WiFi on and signed into Nord.

Added my old spare Google account and changed the payment method to Turkey with my Up card via the PlayStore. Also set up a brand new Spotify account. Only then it worked.

    • @olympicwiz how did you contact to google, what did you ask them to solve. I am still now able to pay through Google pay. It would be great if you could give me some advice.
      Thanks

Sorry for a delay, when I got a message on my phone "Something went wrong…" there was a link to click for help. Or click here https://support.google.com/googleplay/gethelp? and fill out as much as you can (including the screenshot of the issue) and get on the chat with them.

Sometimes I only got an option "community forum", so then I changed my Google account to a new one and finally got to "Chat with us" option.

  • I too was having issues with using the Googlepay with a new Turkish Google Account and an existing spotify account. Setup a new Turkish spotify account and seems to have accepted the payment after a free 1 month trial. Will find out in one month if Ive been successful.

Found this instructional video useful for any noobs….
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLtKvx3bg20

    • Did you even use a VPN? The video doesn't even mention VPN.

      • I had the VPN on for the original spotify account just to play safe. Didnt use it when linking up the first family account.

        • Argh "Your transaction can't be completed".

  • spotify payment went through oldubill now, before spotify was telling me there was an issue. just also got a notice that money transfers are back but not sure if that's for foreign accounts included

    • Yeah i just got the notifcations that they're accepting payments again… although NFI what that means?

  • pricing is great of course but im thinking i might need to go crawling back to my regular aussie student pricing.. quite a few of my favourite records are unavailable on turkey spotify for whatever reason.

  • Is it just me or has Spotify stopped taking Cards from Oldubil?

I just a got a email today saying spotify can't debit the card. and when i log in to spotify to try manually use oldubil card, it won't let me.

    I Quote:

"The payment failed. Please try again, use a different payment card or a different payment method."

Before you all say anything, yes there is plenty of money in the card, and yes i am using this method for netflix too, nothing strange yet. This should be my 3rd month?

So do i try with an Aussie card now?

    • Same! My tidal and spotify subscriptions just stopped working :(
None of my Aussie cards work with these deals, so I'm shopping around to join other peoples 'families' instead of setting it up myself to save the hastle

      • let me know if you've got room for 1 more?

    • from Goose93's comment - I readded my same Oldubil card w VPN on and it worked - payment went through instantly!

      • can confirm this worked this morning

  • First payment came today out of my Wise card with try dollars in it.

    • I wasn't aware you could use your wise card for a turkish subscription?

      • Me either. Was suprised.

        • What are the fees/rates compared to oldubil? From memory oldubil has jacked up fees quite a bit recently

          • @xare: I put $20 aud in and they took out 0.16 aud in fees when converting to try. ( Not sure if lower % when convert higher amount)
Deposit by Pay ID or manual free (takes longer)
Debit card fee on $1000 aud is $3.70 (instant)

            • @speedyj1: I just tried that and change payment method to wise but it says payment method and country don't match

    • Could you share how you made this happen? I tried with Spotify but got a message saying 'country doesn't match country from card'

      • I think i used vpn on phone that hadnt had spotify downloaded. New laptop and i changed my google account (spare) to turkish via VPN. Put my wise card in that had try in it and it was accepted. But now in spotify i try to change to family plan but says my google account isnt associated with the spotify account so will just leave as is.

  • +1

Can confirm this still works (despite all the mixed messaging from Oldubil and the like).
Transferred from Wise to Oldubil yesterday, cash was in the Oldubil account this arvo, and proceeded to sign up to a yearly Turkish Spotify Premium plan.

  • Just got an email saying my payment failed.
I tried reentering the CVV with VPN on but that also failed.
Also getting a "Sorry, you are not eligible for that plan." error message when trying to sign up for the 6 months individual plan (so that I can use up all my Oldubill balance).
Anyone could please tell me if there's anything I could do?

  • Not sure if helpful but after going through both methods above I was able to confirm I could use Wise to send to Oldubil (both completed today for does time use). I was also able to use vpn to sign up to Turkish google account. No australian cards of mine worked (error from google) but once I added the Oldubil card, with Turkish address, to google play (at this point payment page with vpn off) it worked.

I did this on pc with blue stacks method.

If people want any other details happy to try and help. Man what an exhaustive process…

    • So, Australia CC to Wise
      Wise to Oldubil
      Oldubil card into Google Play
      Spotify via Google Pay?

Can't you just go Oldubil Virtual card straight to spotify?
I'd appreciate if you could point me to the "Wise to Oldubil" steps you followed (I'd previously used Revolut to Oldubil. Thanks.

      • I keep getting 'something unexpected went wrong' when trying to transfer from Wise to Oldubil. PM if you like.

      • I did bank account into wise but if you got it working from a CC then that’s fine.

The rest of that is accurate.

I tried Oldubil card directly with Spotify in browser but it threw an error (you must use a different payment method). I’m hearing of Spotify cracking down on Oldubil as payment - so to circumvent it, google play seemed to accept it when I added Oldubil card with a turkey flag as address (but I didn’t actually write out the card address so assume google took it from my default google turkey address).

Steps for wise to Oldubil I followed exactly listed in parts 1 and 2 here:
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/784047
        (Including the suggested bank).

        Hope that helps.

        • Appreciate it mate!

Yup, I did payid to Wise (earlier post was prior to working through).
I'll try with the Oldubil VM once the funds land, otherwise I'll go the Google Play route.
          Will report back.

Literally only have this due to YT Music not having a Garmin watch app >_<

          • +1

            @nzcoops: Yeah I feel you.

We only got it because we have one Apple Music account (shared across family) and google speaker keeps on getting cut off when the Mrs goes on her walks listening to her stuff. It’s painful, but when it eventually works it feels pretty good!

  • Is there a method that works for us IOS/Mac users?

  • +1

Thanks to Sprayznprayz for the chat.

I had Turkey premium via and Oldubil VM (originally topped up via Revolut) that ran out of money.
This is what I did today.

Money into Wise via PayID (instant)
Wise to Oldubil (submitted ~10am, they queued it for 2pm, it went at 2pm, it landed at Oldubil ~7pm)
Turkey VPN on (UrbanVPN on computer)
Renewed expired plan onto the same Oldubil VM by just entering the CVV number.
    Done.

    • What bank did you use when transferring from Wise to Oldubil?

      • +1

        I used Garanti Bankasi

  • Successfully subscribed with a Filipino google account. Anyone have any success subscribing with student discount? My student status on my spotify account is already verified but I cant get the discount while paying through Google play.

  • Lmaoo just sent money from Wise to Oldubill and they deposited it with no issues. Oldubill back on the menu boys

    • Out of interest. Does anyone know if you can use an Oldubil VM for random purchases?
As in, if spotify and other crowds we're subscribing too stop accepting them, can you use the VM to buy a coffee in the maccas app or something to use the funds up?

  • +1

my monthly Spotify Premium fee got taken from my Oldubil account a few days ago :)

just need to try topping that up (have about 6 months worth of payments left in there)

  • I am currently having an issue with the payment

Money is in my Oldubil account.

When attempting to check out on Spotify I am given the following error.

Payment could not be made. Please try again, pay with a different card or use another payment method. Go to our support page.

    • Changed from 12 month billing to 1 month and it randomly just let me proceed with the payment.

This was after adding my VM to the account

    • I'm having the same issue! Did you get it to work at all?
      If so, any suggestions?

      • So whilst connected to a VPN I set my Spotify country to Turkey.

Then went to payment methods and added my Oldubil VM to the account.

Went to Premium and then attempted to pay, 12 month no luck. Swapped to 1 month and had success.

  • Google Play method doesn't work :~(

"Something went wrong. Your transaction cannot be completed"

It loads my Turkish profile payment methods as expected, but fails at the very last step, tried multiple cards, in and out of the VPN (Nord).

    • Got the same error! I'm going to try in 24 hrs, coz I did get a heads up when registering my card that it can take 48 hrs to verify.

  • Still stuck on Step 4 of Part 2… if in another 24 hrs it doesn't accept my Google Pay payment, I'm probably gonna call it quits, after trying to use a brand new Google play account. I am trying to still log in with my current Spotify though as I have well establishd my playlist on there.

Everything is set to Turkyie including my Spotify account (set it thru browser), Google Play, the card I added as Turkish with postcode and everything, VPN in Turkyie, even decided to get a GPS spoofer.

Google play said it may take 48 hrs to verify the card, and it's been only 24 hrs since, so maybe I just need to wait for that…

I only keep trying coz I emailed Spotify to extend my Student membership a bit longer coz I'm a full time post grad, and they only gave me student membership for 4 yrs. The normal Premium is just far too expensive.

    • I have been trying for 2 days now :(

What kind of card are you using? Wise card?
If so, Wise virtual cards are not Turkish, even if you change the billing address to Turkey.

  • I tried for several days to get this to work with Google Play Turkish account but was unsuccessful. I had previously set my account to Turkiye to use up the rest of my funds from my Oldubil card after doing the 3 years of xbox game pass which worked fine. When the funds on that card ran out, I tried to method in this post but with no success.

As other people have suggested, I tried using the Philippines instead which went through no problems after changing my region in my Spotify account and setting up a new Google Play set to Philippines. It has ended up costing approximately $7 AUD/month for Spotify Premium Family which is pretty good but there are definitely better priced regions out there. Note that I did have to set up the other people on my family account by swapping their region to the Philippines using a VPN otherwise it would not let them join my plan. For whatever reason, it still lets you set an Australian address to confirm other people are in the same household as you for the family plan.

  • +1

Method 2 worked for me, however, due for my second payment today and received a message saying "The payment failed. Please try again, use a different payment card or a different payment method. Go to our support."

There are enough funds in my OlduBil account and we are already under Turkey as the country. We are running under a family subscription plan.

Has this happened to anyone else? Have browsed the comments and have tried to fix but nothing is working for me

    • I get the same issue trying to resubscribe. How many funds do you have in your account? I have 95 TRY and still it fails on family plan…

    • Yes i think odubil method is dead for spotify. They have cracked down on anonymous accounts.

  • +5

Hi @I Smell Pennies first, thank you for all your help so far. Can you please update the guide with:

    • what to do if oldubil payments are failing?

If there is absolutely no known alternatives currently besides subscribing via an AUD sub/card, that’s fine but would be good to know

    • what to do with any remaining balance in oldubil?

This is assuming that Spotify via oldubil is dead

E.g buy gift cards / any sites that are currently known to be still working with oldubil to get rid of the balance at least

    —-
Would be good to have the guide updated rather than scrolling through various comments and trying to pull out some info

My Spotify family renewed on the 27/10 and I got the payment failed email. Tried to re-enter my oldubil ccv and retried the payment while on a turkey vpn. This failed.

    • Mine failed too on 28/10. Thanks for trying the steps above. I will advise if the automatic retry that the email says it will attempt works.

  • +2

Failed payment via Oldubil despite remaining balance as of 29/10/23

Tried Wise and revolut disposable cards without success

  • +1

Tried contacting Google Play support after transactions failing and they replied with:

I noticed that our specialist team has reviewed your account, and I am sorry to let you know that they have found some inconsistencies in your account.
I appreciate your time and understanding.

    ¯_(ツ)_/¯

So after some attempts with different VPNs (Nord, Windscribe, Surfshark, HMA, UrbanVPN), cards (Up, Revolut, Wise) and most of the methods for Google Play outlined in the comments I tried the Oldubil method since people have had success with Wise. Sent 500 TRY without a reference number and it's been a week so that's gone I guess (tried contacting support but they weren't of any help).

Now with funds in the account, tried yesterday to pay for Spotify with Oldubil and from the comments before me, it's not looking great.

Any chance I can still use the remaining Oldubil money for a lifetime Plex sub?

This had been working perfectly for me via the Google Play method, however I tried to upgrade the sub to Duo to include my wife in the plan. It wouldn't change the plan, so I assumed that I had to cancel my Premium individual plan and then re-subscribe once the the previous sub expired.

Well turns out that not only can't I subscribe now to Duo, I can no longer subscribe to any plan without getting the "something went wrong" message.

Looks like the Turkey subs for Spotify might have gone the way of the Dodo :(

  • UPDATE I have managed to subscribe through Argentina using the Google Play method. Price for a Duo plan is US$3.99/m, which came in at ~$6.30 AUD. Still around a third of the price compared to a local sub!

    • Did you need to use an Argentinian google account or card to make that work? Thanks for your help.

      • +1

I just created a new Google account, put in a fake Argentine address, then added my Aussie credit card using the same fake Argentine address in the payments section.

After that, I just followed @I Smell Pennies instructions as per the original Turkish method and away it went!

When attempting this (on Android) the Google Play plan defaults to USD with a notification that prices will change based on exchange rate.
The payment through Spotify still comes in ARS.
Looks like they have caught onto that one

  • Does anyone have any experience purchasing the gift cards from Oldubil? It seems you can buy an apple gift card in their "E-pin opportunities" area which I could use for my turkish apple and onedrive account payment….

I purchased the Netflix gift cards to use on my Turkish Netflix account. Worked absolutely fine. Was a good way to clear out my balance as nothing else works anymore

        Cheers

      • where did you buy netflix gift cards with oldubill?

        • My payments > games & entertainment

Scroll down until you see the Netflix gift card

          • @63pinecone: Sorry what site is this that you're purchasing giftcards from?

            Edit: found it, cheers

            • @cheapass88: Would be nice if you said which site so other people could do the same.

For those wondering, its on the Oldubil home page > My payments > Games & Entertainment

@Neyo01: Yep that's where. I re read the previous comment and realised it was there.

@63pinecone: I've managed to buy a 200TL card but trying to add to my turkish netflix account I just get "an error occurred please try later".

Is there any trick to this? I'm logged in to turkey via VPN..

            • @tonydav: Very strange. Worked when I applied the codes via my account logged in here (in Aus), but not when logged in in Turkey. Anyways, at least it worked.

  • Still have about ₺1150 funds in my Oldubil account. That Spotify don't want to accept. Any suggestion please? Where can I use it on? Thank you in advance!

    • Apple Music. Get yourself a Turkish Apple account, buy Turkish iTunes cards from TURGAME and add them to the Apple Music app from Windows store. Only need VPN to create Aplle account.

      • I did exactly this just now and worked well. Someone else mentioned using for netflix gift cards for a turkish netflix account. You need to click on 'E-pin opportunities' to access the gift cards. It was straight forward from there.

Thank you both. But hoping there are other options, as I already have an Au Netflix account and another music streaming service. Maybe I will try to see if Amazon will take Oldubil or not… thanks anyway!!

          • @RustyCATz: Let us know if you find other ways… I am in the exact same situation as you!

            • +1

@Qmar: Hi there, I add the Oldubil card into my Amazon account today and bought some items. So far it says shipped and will be arriving tomorrow.

            • +1

@Qmar: Just got a msg from Amazon that they are unable to charge my Oldubil. So they put the charge on my other card… Hope you have better luck finding other solution to spend the remaining amount.

              • @RustyCATz: No luck dude… i tried using it on several websites, but payment almost always gets cancelled.

                • +1

@Qmar: I just try the Oldubil e-pin shop and bought some google playstore point and didn't work either. won't allow me to claim in my aus playstore.

                  • @RustyCATz: Hi, just wondering if you ended up finding a use for your leftover Oldubil funds?

                    • @CyberHippy: no luck for me.. try many options. none of them work for me.

                      • @RustyCATz: I just tried to buy Itunes gift card from Oldubil E-pin store and successfully redeemed onto my Turkish App store

                        • @bkllo00: Great! But unfortunately I don't use iTunes at all… thanks for the information!

  • Hey OP, this has been working well for me for 3 months. I still have about 200TL left in my Oldu account but I got a payment declined email from Spotify a few days ago. Should I cancel and re-add my Oldu virtual card as payment in Spotify?

    • Okie, I saw a few similar threads. Bye bye Spotify I guess :(

    Hey guys,

I know I'm 3 months late to the party but I've literally spent the whole day trying to get this working but am hit with an error at the very last stage when attempting to confirm the subscription:

"Your transaction can't be completed. To continue this transaction, use a different payment instrument or contact us".

For context, here is everything I've done so far:
*Currently use an old Nexus 7 phone (potentially too old?)
    - Purchased Nord VPN
    - Created a new Gmail Account and subsequent Google Play Account set to Turkey
    - Followed OP's steps
    - Tried clearing all possible Caches and Data
    - Tried using a Turkish Address / home address with my Debit Cards
    - Tried turning off VPN at the final transaction screen

    Absolutely nothing worked.

Any help on this would be great.

I was in your situation last weekend and I was using Method 1.

Earlier this week, I scrolled thru the comments and someone suggested using Method 1 but instead of Turkiye use Phillipines which I did, and it worked all through Part 1 to the end Part 3. I have successfully added three family members to the plan, just note that any added members will need to use a VPN to change their country to Phillipines to accept your invite link.

      • Phone: Samsung S9+
      • VPN: UrbanVPN app free download, no sub fee
      • Country: Phillipines
      • Plan Type: Family
      • Subscription cost: ₱239.00 peso / AUD $6.65
      • Card: VISA, ING bank

Many thanks @I Smell Pennies for sharing this deal :)

      • When I select the plan on Spotify - it redirects me back to the 'pick a plan' page and says that I'm ineligible for this plan.. did you run into that issue?

Edit: Got it to work successfully! Followed the steps above, the issue was the card, tried a CBA card and worked.

Also, for anyone without an Android device, emulators (LDPlayer) works as well. At least it did for me.

      • Would India be cheaper actually ?

      • Did all the people you invited to the family get an error when they clicked on invite link (different country)?

  • Possibly stupid / easy question…
I have D+ through a specifically created (Turkey) Google account linked to Aus CC.
Spotify (Turkey) uses (or did use) my regular email / account through Odubil.
Do I have to create a new Spotify account using my (Turkey) Google account to be able to pay with my Aus CC instead?
Does this work?… Or is there a different method?

    P.s. Using Desktop and/or Android.
