IMPORTANT UPDATE 26 JULY 2023: RE Method 2

OlduBil: "Transfers from foreign bank accounts to our bank accounts in Turkey are not possible".

  • OlduBil is no longer accepting deposits/transfers from foreign bank accounts. Please DO NOT make any transfers into OlduBil (i.e. your Türkiye Mastercard) until further notice!

  • If you already have the funds in OlduBil from a previous transfer, you are free to continue with Method 2. For those wanting to top up your Türkiye Mastercard, please DO NOT initiate any transfers into OlduBil from Wise or Revolut until I have a new update

  • For those who do not have funds in OlduBil and wish to utilise Method 2, I'm afraid this is no longer possible at this point in time. Every transfer done is at your own risk!

Background:

Modern problems require modern solutions. Like Xbox Game Passes, Youtube, Netflix, Discord, Google One, Microsoft 365, relocating (virtually of course) to Turkey is usually the best option, with some methods saving hundreds or thousands of dollars each year added up. The processes below are very easy, just take it slow and you'll get there! Just remember you'll be saving hundreds at the end of the day.

Due to a price increase by Spotify worldwide, my previous guide has expired. But no worries, this guide is now better than ever, and combines the two methods together (Google Pay for those who want to use Australian Cards, or Virtual Türkiye Mastercard for those who can't do the Google Pay method) as well as providing more information on extra plans and family systems. There will be some screenshots throughout the sign-up process for OlduBil(see screenshots in the instructions section) from previous testing - and yes, I can confirm the validity of these methods because I don't spend money for nothing. Most important thing - Türkiye is still very cheap!

Thank you so much for all your support and previous comments (I love reading them)! Any comments, concerns, suggestions or feedback are welcome :)

Instructions – Method #1 via Google Pay (Android Required) – If you want to use your Australian debit/credit card

Note: If you currently subscribe to Google One or any other Google services via Türkiye, then you may already have a Türkiye payment profile in your Google account. If this is the case, you may not need to do Part 1 at all (go straight to Part 2).

If you have an existing Google account and don't want to create a new Google account, simply add a new Türkiye payment profile into your Google account (not ideal for Google accounts where the sole user is an Android user or the family system consists of Android users - see why in the notes section of this post. You can create a new payment profile by following these steps: go to https://pay.google.com/gp/w/u/0/home/settings and clicking the pen icon next to "Country/Region" and a link to create a new profile should pop up. You can then add details for the Turkish profile (If needed, use a fake address generator to obtain a random Turkey address).

If you don't have an Android device, and would still like to use your Australian debit/credit card via Google Pay, consider this BlueStacks method by @langh using a PC.

Part 1 – Creating a new Google account

  1. Create a new Google account on your phone.

  2. Delete your Google Play Store cache (this may not be required). If you don't know how to, please see Google's instructions.

  3. Select your new Google account in the Google Play Store app to switch over from your personal account or add it in if it's not there (to do this, click on your top right icon, then click the dropdown next to your account email, then click "Add another account"). Make sure the selected account is your new Google account.

  4. Add a new payment method and select "Turkey" as the country (to do this, click on your top right icon again, then click "Payments and Subscriptions", then click "Payment methods"). If needed, use a fake address generator to obtain a random Turkey address for the payment profile. You can use your Australian debit or credit card (or any card as you wish) and best to use a card with no international transaction fees (Suncorp and Latitude Platinum have no international fees).

Part 2 – Subscribing to Spotify Premium

  1. Boot up the Spotify app and click "sign up" or "log in" with VPN off. If you don't have the Spotify app, download it from the Google Play Store. See link here.

Can I sign up with my Australian Spotify account? - Yes! Simply log in (make sure your current subscription, if any, is cancelled).

  2. Turn on VPN and connect to a server in Türkiye (see Notes section for suggestions) and leave it on for the remainder of the steps below.

  3. Boot up the Spotify app again. Click on the premium tab on the bottom right of the home screen. Select the plan you want. Scroll down to the bottom and make sure the country is set to Türkiye. If it's Australia or another country, click the dropdown and change it to Türkiye.

Alternatively, go to your Spotify account settings on a web browser and check what country is selected. If it's Türkiye, you're good to go. If it's Australia or another country, click the dropdown and change it to Türkiye. However, you still have to double check on the app again on step 3.

Country dropdown box greyed out? - I bet you have a current Premium subscription running? If so, this will have to finish. You can't make changes to your location while Premium is running.

  4. Click on "Google Pay". Complete the Google Pay confirmation prompt to subscribe. Your debit/credit card should already be preloaded (add one if not). If requested for an address, please use your Australian address (new Spotify accounts - family plan sign-ups).

If you get an error, trying clicking the "change plan" option and re-select your plan. Muck around with it a little… Turn VPN on or off etc.

  5. Fly back home and turn off your VPN. YOU'RE DONE! WOOO! Enjoy your savings :)

Part 3 - Family Members (Family plan only)

  1. On the main account (plan manager), go to: https://www.spotify.com/tr-tr/account/family/ to obtain an invite link. Ensure the address listed is your Australian address (DO NOT use a Türkiye address)

  2. Get a family member, friend, bf, gf, or whatever person to accept that link. When requested, enter in the same address as listed in Step 1.

Error? "You need to live at the same address? It looks like you’re trying to join Premium Family from a different country. Premium Family is only available for family members that live together. Try again when you’re at the same address."

Simple solution - go to the relevant Spotify account on a web browser and check what country is selected. If it's Türkiye, you're good to go. If it's Australia or another country, connect to a VPN server in Türkiye, then refresh the page, click the dropdown and change it to Türkiye. Accept the invite again and it should work. You can turn off VPN after this.

Instructions – Method #2 (If you want to use your Virtual Türkiye Mastercard)

Türkiye-based Virtual Mastercard REQUIRED

Please read the following instructions carefully. If you already have a Türkiye-based Virtual Mastercard via OlduBil, proceed with the following instructions. If you do not have a Türkiye-based Virtual Mastercard, STOP HERE and see how to get one here in the instructions section (Part 1 and Part 2): https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/784047. I'm in the process of making a wiki page on the Türkiye-based Virtual Mastercard via OlduBil, so stay tuned!

Notes: The Spotify sign up pages may be in Turkish (which is easily navigatable if you have some common sense). Feel free to translate the page to English otherwise.

Part 1 – Subscribing to Spotify Premium

  1. Log in to Spotify (VPN off), or make a new account (VPN off).

  2. Turn on VPN and connect to a server in Türkiye (see Notes section for suggestions) and leave it on for the remainder of the steps below.

  3. Go to the Spotify Premium plans page.

  4. Scroll down and select the plan you want. Proceed to pay with your Turkey-based Virtual Mastercard. If requested for an address, please use your Australian address (new Spotify accounts - family plan sign-ups).

  5. Fly back home and turn off your VPN. YOU'RE DONE! WOOO! Enjoy your savings :)

HELP POINT: Because the popup payment windown cannot be translated to English, here are screenshots of the process in the following order: (1), (2), (3)

Part 2 – Family Members (Family plan only)

ISP Notes (Important)

  • If you currently have a Spotify Premium subscription, simply cancel the subscription and you'll be able to resubscribe via Türkiye. If the current subscription is a family plan, simply cancel the subscription and once you resubscribe via Türkiye (do not let the subscription expire), the entire family system will remain intact and no futher changes will be necessary.

  • Most VPN services will connect to Türkiye, unlike India. Those include NordVPN, Private Internet Access (PIA), free Windscribe Chrome extension (recommended), free UrbanVPN Chrome extension (recommended), ExpressVPN, etc. If one doesn't work, use another VPN.

    • If you're using Windscribe and it shows different currencies: keep turning the windscribe on and off. Each time you don't get TL, turn it off and on, then refresh the Spotify sign up page. You'll eventually land on TL. Go to https://whatismyipaddress.com/ each time you turn it off/on and see if you land on Istanbul.

FAQ

Q: Will I need to turn VPN on everytime I listen to Spotify?
A: No! You no longer need to have VPN on every time you use Spotify Premium. VPN is only required for sign up. After sign up, use Spotify without a VPN.

Q: I got charged a different rate compared to the prices on this post. What happened?
A: Due to foreign exchange rates constantly fluctuating, prices will differ by several cents each month

Q: I have an existing Spotify account, can I use the same email?
A: Definitely!

Q: Is signing up to Spotify Turkey going to affect my Spotify library/catalogue?
A: After setting up this sub, you may or may not notice the Spotify catalogue/recommendations may be weird with brand new regional music, etc… but your Spotify catalogue will adjust to what you’re listening to and soon it will look like nothing ever happened

Q: GST/VAT and Tax related questions?
A: Don't worry, there really isn't any tax you need to worry about.

Oh right. That wasn't obvious based off the OPs comment of it "getting declined". I thought you meant using oldubil card to make the payment. Yes as mentioned in other people's comments, there is issues on depositing funds to oldubil via Revolut/Wise.

Someone mentioned using Binance P2P trading, but I haven't tried this method yet.

  • Congrats to anyone who managed to get this shit working.

I am giving up after trying for hours and hours today. I created the new google account under turkey, added my cc, deleted all other google accounts, wiped all cache as per comments, restarted, made sure spotify is turkey, used about 10 different VPNS that people listed here, nothing got me past the error in spotify trying to pay that mentioned the country I am in.

I dunno if the issue is Spotify blocking all the VPNs by now, or something to do with my CC but I absolutely concede defeat. All of this drama is not worth a couple hundred bucks a year when spotify is so integral to my day to day functioning.

    • The Wise or Revolut avenue is surest. However, since yesterday the Oldubil bank used no longer works so a new one will be required. VPN should have no issues, I used Nord yesterday and was able to get Turkish prices.

    • Mate, I've tried for months with different devices, accounts, vpns and so on and I cannot get this to work. I used to work in IT so I'm no dummy when it comes to this stuff either. I get as far as payment but I get no Google Pay option and I am stumped.

Just saw the following email from Google Play:

Spotify AB is increasing the price of your subscription ‘Spotify: Music and Podcasts (Premium Duo)’ from TRY 39.99/month to TRY 54.99/month starting on 15 September 2023.

So, is Spotify Türkiye still the cheapest after the price bump (up by TRY 15)? /cc @I Smell Pennies

I am paying via Oldubil virtual credit card. Got to the stage where I check out for premium family 64,99 TL / month. Entered my digital Oldubil card and it kept on saying 'Oops! Something went wrong, please try again.' Any thoughts?

    EDIT:
I managed to check it out. I am currently on 'Premium Family' for 64.99 TL / month.
Signed it up with an Australian address. However, the issue is that even though I entered the same address - my "family members" aren't able to sign up and it states 'You need to live at the same address'?

On my account overview my 'Country or region' is Turkey. I am unable to change it due to current payment method.
Under premium family > my address is Australian though.

    Anybody encountered this same issue?

    • +1

Have you logged in as each family member into Spotify using Turkey VPN and changed their country to Turkey as well (lave address as Australia though!)? That's what you have to do. It is listed in Step 3 of this post: Part 3 - Family Members (Family plan only).

Also mentioned few times by others including myself:
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/14143963/redir

      Re-Invited Family Members:

      • Connected to Turkey using PIA VPN (ensuring Turkey in DNS leak test
      • Logged on using Family plan manager account and obtained the Invite Link
      • Using either Multi-Account Containers plugin / Private Browser / Icognito / or by Logging In/Out with each invited Family Account:
        • In Spotify account settings changed country to Turkey
        • Accepted the Invite using normal AUS home address matching Family plan manger
        • Repeated for all family members

      Hopefully this helps.

      • Thanks mate. It now works!

    • how'd you managed to get past the "something went wrong" error?

  • Click on "Google Pay". Complete the Google Pay confirmation prompt to subscribe.

I am not getting an option to pay with Google Pay. Everything else seems to be in order. Any suggestions?

    • Same with me so I gave up. Possibly because I was using an older phone without NFC/tap and go function so Pay couldn't be used.

      • My phone has all that but still didn't get that option.

      • I used one of my older phones that doesn't have NFC, it took me a number of tries but eventually got it to work

  • Thx worked.

  • Worked through google pay using getflix vpn. Backup for when tidal argentina goes to the shizzle.

I Just had a successful transfer from wise to oldubil. I sent through the payment Monday and sent off an email in Turkish (google translate is your friend) this afternoon saying I haven't received the transfer in my wallet, I attached the transfer receipt from wise and 1 hour later the money was in my oldubil wallet.

    • Nice I might try my luck and see how I go

    • Thanks for sharing. I sent money on Tuesday via Wise and fired off an email in Türkiye using google translate about an hour ago and the money has just magically appeared in my Oldubil account.

      • @dxlr8 @Crowing did you already have an Oldubil account setup, or did you just create one recently?

I'm trying method 2 and followed the steps to transfer from Wise to Oldubil on Thursday, but haven't received the funds yet. Was going to send an email before I read another comment saying the latest Turkish bank details didn't work anymore.

        • My Oldubil was set up a while ago - but that shouldn't affect whether you can make transfers now or not. I'd suggesting emailing them with the receipt and they should be able to manually add the funds to your account

  • Question for you guys: why everyone here is using method #2 with OlduBil instead of method #1 which doesn't require all of these tasks by just using an Australian debit/credit card?

    • +2

Because we can use OlduBil for more than just Spotify, Netflix icloud Xbox gamepass etc.

      • Ok, thanks, I just need Spotify hence why I don't need OlduBil. Thanks for the explanation

      • If you pay direct via Australian debit/credit card, is there a surcharge?

  • Had to contact google on live chat because of "Error - your transaction can't be completed" using google pay. They said it will take 48 hrs to fix the problem and now it works.

    Thanks OP!

  • I've let my AU family plan expire and using VPN to re-subscribe to the Turkish Family Plan (Aile - 64,99 TL). When selecting Google Play and 'continue with Google Play' button I get the following:

    Subscription not available

The subscription isn't available in your Google Play country. You can update your country in Google Play settings or go back and choose Spotify as your billing option.

I am using my primary Google account which has the Turkey (Google Pay) payment profile selected (also have Argentina and Australia).

    What's my issue here?

    • I hit the same brick wall - ended up having to use a fresh Google account with only the tl profile, and only that Google account in on an old phone.

      • So your plan is then to just keep the fresh Google account active purely to subscribe to Spotify? Annoys me I can't use my existing Turkiye payment profile I have for YouTube on the primary Google account.

        • Yeah, I guess so - not ideal but that's where I ended up.

  • Tried method 2 (oldubil) but keeps getting try a new card i tried many Vpns and still getting same error

  • Everything all good till I go to pay and google says something went wrong. What did you guys do to get around this? I removed all google accounts and just have my new account. Everything is set to Turkey and prices show up in the correct currency. Just cant get past this point for whatever reason.

  • +3

(Method 1) - Wasn't able to get past this error:

    Something went wrong
Your transaction can't be completed. Please visit the Help Centre for more information

Tried different cards, vpn on/off, removed all google accounts except the newly created on mobile.

Anyone manage to get past this error recently?

    • Hey I was having the same error for a while but I got it working!

So when I encountered that "Something went wrong" message, I cleared the data on my Spotify app and WHILST ON VPN, I signed back into Spotify. After I did this the payment went through straight away with no issues!

      • Wasn't able to get it working with your fix either :(

Appreciate the help though! Looks like there is the Binance P2P method which I will try instead

  • Hi everyone,

Currently paying my Spotify with OlduBil via monthly payment. Next payment due in a few days and I don't have enough money in my card.

Is there another payment method I can change to or a new method to deposit money into that card or are we still waiting?

  • One minor issue I've found is that the content library is a little different in Turkey.

I've only noticed one album missing so far - so it hasn't been a big deal to add that one as local content.

  • When I try to make payment using method 1 I am directed to the website and only given credit card payment details, there is no option to pay with google pay. How can I select google pay?

  • I keep getting error "Subscription not available" This subscription isn't available in google play country. I've checked settings and everything set to turkey. Followed the steps with VPN and all prices list to Turkey but when click on "Google Play" I just get the error

I did it previously with Disney Plus instructions and used same email and that worked ok but just unable to subscribe.

Could try a do another google account but feel like the same error will occur

    • I got to stage where can pay after deleting google accounts and just having one google account which has turkey profile. Go to pay and just keep getting "something went wrong" no matter which plan. After about 4 hours. Seems like can't get it to work

      • So when I encountered that "Something went wrong" message, I cleared the data on my Spotify app and WHILST ON VPN, I signed out and back into Spotify. After I did this the payment went through straight away

        • I've been having this same issue as the original commenter and even saw your tip about clearing Spotify data and signing back in whilst on VPN, but I'm still getting the "Something went wrong" message 😢

Finger crossed I have better luck with method #2 🤞🏾

          • @tauro: Damn it must be a combination of things then. This action was what got me over the line in the end after 40 mins of trial and error.

Are you using a fresh Turkish Gmail account with that as the only account signed in on the phone?

            • +1

@SaveTheManuals: I still had problems myself.

I ended up just getting Egypt gift card to test for 1 month and cost 5.50 which worked. Just had to change my VPN and then switch to Egypt to change country in spotify to Egypt and got G2A card. Then redeem with VPN on and it worked.

So I'll just get the 12 month gift card for 12 months once the 1 month expires. Obviously not as cheap as Turkish method but 3 dollars a month is pretty good.

May try the Turkis method again after this one month trial. Otherwise Eygpt spotify gift card worked for me

              • @Yipeekiyer: Oh, what is the Egyptian method?!?

                • +1

@twkeju: I thought try it but saw a video on YouTube and wasn't Eypypt but was Brazil. When looking online cost and the gifts cards that available on G2A Egyptian card seem to close to cheapest.

So all I did was go to G2A website and go for the $5.50 Spotify gift card which is one month. Wasn't sure it would work so I didn't get 12 month card but it was around $37 Aussie dollars for 12 month prepaid Spotify gift card.

Switched on VPN and choose Egyptian server.

Went into my normal Spotify account and changed country from Australia to Egypt.

While still logger into VPN I then went to Spotify redeem website while still on VPN and logged into my normal Spotify account and then went to redeem code which was Egyptian one and put in the code that was sent from G2A.

That worked and on my existing account. It does say the gift card only premium. So may not work for family plan or other plan. I just wanted it for myself though

              • +1

@Yipeekiyer: Legend. Just got a 12 month card for $36.54, worked a treat cutting the Google account out of the equation. Would be better if it would add $ credit and you could choose Spotify Family Premium plan or if there were a gift card for that but this is great either way.

                • @kain0rer: @kain0rer glad it worked for you. Pitty it doesn't have other plans but I tried for hours doing the Turkish method.

Did all suggestions and even used secondary card and just wouldn't work.

Around $37 dollars I thought was good enough value and was pretty straight forward too. Be nice if could choose the plan with credit but at least it worked lol

  • After much malarkey I've now got a new Google account set to Turkey payment profile and added an Australian credit card. Set up an old phone just with this Turkish account, VPN up and running, got through to the Google Play payment authorisation and then boom "Something went wrong. Your transaction can't be completed. Please visit the help center for more information".

Of course the Google help center is useless. Has anyone else had this problem and then successfully got around it? I couldn't get the solves suggested above to work. Thanks

  • Spotify AB is increasing the price of your subscription "Spotify: Music and Podcasts (Premium Family)" from TRY 49.99/month to TRY 64.99/month next month. That's what you call inflation!

    • ah shit not again

  • Add another failure - trying to use Google pay and "this method isn't available". Profile in the Google account shows TY, tried Surfshark and Torguard, toggling on/off at just prior to the "pay with Google pay" prompt. etc. etc…

TL64.99 so near, yet so far :)

Congratulations to you who succeeded, and for all your tips n tricks to get this working for others.

  • Seems like Google is only accepting locally issued payment methods now…. Nooooooooooo!

Thanks @heyimsu for your comprehensive guide. Just +1ing this method of topping up my Oldubil card using Binance P2P trading.

Just adding my experience to their notes:

    Buying USDT with AUD

    • You don't necessarily need to buy USDT via P2P trading. At the time of my comment, USDT costs $1.565 to buy (via Binance spot trading), however after card fees (since we can't use PayID/osko), it ends up costing approx $1.621. The cheapest P2P USDT available was $1.58, but there was a minimum purchase of $500 worth. Purchasing through the spot trading area, I was able to buy as little as 1.27USDT (or $2 worth).
    • If buying via spot trading, you will have to transfer from the "spot wallet" to "funding". You can do this proactively or you will be prompted when you attempt to sell in the P2P trading area.

    Selling USDT for TRY

    • I found it extremely difficult to find the P2P trading area. Instead, I switched my app mode from Lite to Pro (do this by tapping the four squares in the top left to go to your profile and select "Pro" in the top right). If Pro is too comprehensive/busy, you can always switch back to Lite.
    • In Pro, you go to the P2P trading area by selecting "Trades" in the bottom nav bar, then in the top nav bar, select "P2P".
    • I traded with the user "FullTrusdt" and I successfully traded/received the funds in less than 10mins.
    • As mentioned in heyimsu's post, the minimum trade value for the listings were 250TRY so make sure to buy enough USDT to trade.
    • I was still charged the 9.3% top up fee (it didn't show up as a separate line transaction like it did for my previous Revolut transfer, but when I questioned the trader, they quoted the charge was due to the top up fee).

Overall, I paid $16.21AUD and received 270TRY (less 25TRY for Oldubil top up fee). The current exchange rate on Google is 16.21AUD -> 277.92TRY so I think it worked out quite good overall

    • how did you go with withdrawing the TRY? i am trying to do this now, and have gotten as far as selling the USDT and have TRY, but when trying to perform a withdrawal from binance to a turkish account it redirects me to trbinance.com, but the oauth fails. I then try manually create an account but it is performing an ID check, which is where i am getting stuck

      • +1

I sold using p2p so the buyer deposited the lira directly into my oldubil account.

      • Yep, like @Thimble mentioned, you sell via P2P so the buyer deposits the TRY directly into your Oldubil. You don't sell the USDT to TRY through other options/methods of trading

        • roger, thanks

  • I just tried revlut and it says odeme yontemin ve ulken uyusmuyor (the card and country don't match). I was using Turkey VPN, and I had turkish prices.

  • +2

Several days of trying, a factory reset burner phone, several VPNs - no luck - repeated everything but replacing Turkey with Philippines and it worked. ProtonVPN for me.

    • Philipines VPN?

      • I originally tired UrbanVPN (recommended in this thread) PIA and ProtonVPN for Turkey - nothing worked.

I repeated everything using Philippines and it worked. I ended up using ProtonVPN (my daily) set to Philippines and Method1 worked

    • Thanks for this! I was not able to get it working at all via Turkey (Method 1) after a week of trying… but your suggestion to use Philippines worked on the first try!!
Not as cheap as Turkey but still a significant discount on AUS pricing.

Sorry.. just stumbled across these posts by ISP and am overwhelmed.. thank you @I Smell Penniesfor these detailed threads.. I'm looking to buy Google one and Spotify using these methods.
As there is lot of info, I'm confused on the best steps forward.. I've created an oldubil account but then I readings not accepting any funds from foreign banks.. can anyone break it down for me please who have got it working recently.
    Thank you

    • Don’t use OlduBil. You’ve missed the boat on it. Use the other approach instead

Anyone know what the new price of Spotify Family will be in TRY? I see that the other subscription cost is rising but I can't find the new family price anywhere.

    • TL64,99 which is about A$3.80

  • Transferred from Revolut > FUPs > Oldibil

Works out cheaper without the 9% Oldibul fee as well!

    • How did you get past the fups mobile gsm registration? There’s no australia option on the app

    • What is FUPs?

    • I have a FUPS account but I can't seem to send any money as my account isn't 'verified', how did you get past this?

      • I bought a virtual card through a 3rd party site.

    • Do you have a working guide that you could link us please?

        • How do you get money from Revolut to FUPS card after you purchase it from above?

        • Cheers. I've got FUPS card now, but in Revolut, there is no option to transfer as a Card Recipient but rather a Bank Account transfer? How did you manage to transfer from Revolut into the FUPS card?

            @vronba: International bank transfer

            • @cheapass88: Is it still working for you as of today? I can see that Card option is disabled for me:

            • @cheapass88: Thanks. I got that working last night, Than I got the transfer to Oldubil all sorted as well.

              • @mintyman: Great. I'm still waiting for a mates spotify to expire to add the card. For my family plan, i was able to add the card before it renewed. Not sure why it doesn't work anymore

                • @cheapass88: Are your Revolut accounts based in UK/EU? Apparently the card transfer is only available there, not for AU accounts :(

                  • @vronba: Def Aussie, mate. It's an international transfer. Not Card.

@I Smell Pennies Hi champ, i have money in my Oldubil account, but upon changing payment details using the virtual card number (and country) on my Spotify, it comes out with an error "The payment failed. Please try again, use a different payment card or a different payment method. Go to our support."

Any reasons? I'm using NordVPN to connect to Turkey.

    • In your profile, have you switch the country to Turkey?

After 1 month of successful DD on the Oldubil credit card, spotify emailed me today they couldnt charge the card. So i opened vpn and updated the card details of my oldubil again (payment options was all erased).

    • Has your payment gone through? I had the same thing happen and when i've replaced the card it says it can't be charged. Has Spotify blocked Oldubil?

      • Same issue, can't use my Oldubil card anymore - anyone found a resolution?

      • +1

Yes, payment came out of my Oldubil account this morning.

I didnt replace anything. Just re added the oldubil card (same details) again in spotify account via webpage with VPN enabled.

        • Can confirm that I got it to work by deleting the card (under registered payment methods), then re-adding it as part of the 'payment declined' menu (ie. not just re-adding it under registered payment methods).

        • looks like it worked for me.

          • @ollie1938: I've tried deleting and re-registering my oldubil card but it still isn't accepting it.
Am i the only one? It's there any work around? Can i buy a Turkish gift card with the remaining oldubil credit?

            • @shorza: I think you have to:

              1. Remove ALL payment options;
              2. Click the link from the payment unsuccessful email sent by spotify and add the same oldubil card details.

                @Roflcoptor: Thank you.
I have spent hours removing and adding payment methods. It's like Spotify have banned my oldubil card.

                Anyone else having these issues?

                • @shorza: Same here and cant figure out to switch to google pay

                  • @moj3: Got it to work by doing it on my desktop pc but not my mobile.. weird

                • @shorza: Wow this sucks for you and future me. This time I used vpn, then added the same card over the top. I didn't have to delete the old one.

    • I guess because the price increase, and they have to re-authorise payment for new increased price. Re-enter oldubil details seems to fix the issue
