  • Targeted. I don't see this offer.

Cheers OP - received this offer in my app.

  • +2

Thanks, received the offer in app.

  • Does the 5c stack with the woolies 4c?

    • +4

      Yes.

Both offers also stack with the instore spend offer (spend $5 on eligible items in the convenience store in the same transaction as paying for fuel, save 4c/L).

That means if you stack a Woolworths fuel voucher with the instore spend offer and the EG Club discount offer mentioned in this deal, you can save 13c/L at mainland Australia EG Ampol service stations (or 15c/L at Tasmanian EG Ampol service stations).

      • ill see if it stacks with the origin offer too!

        • +3

Tried before, not successful, only one works either EG club (5c) or 4c origin or RAA or any third party offer. Maximum 13c in mainland australia as wookiemonseter said.

      • We also have RACV but i think RACV & this cannot be stacked. I gather woolies fuel voucher can be stacked on either of these so at the most we'll get only 9c off. Also, we have access to wish gift cards, i assume we can use them to pay at ampol EG (which are run by woolies).

        • +1

i think RACV & this cannot be stacked.

That is the experience of other people.

I gather woolies fuel voucher can be stacked on either of these so at the most we'll get only 9c off.

          Yep (outside of Tasmania).

In Tasmania, the Woolworths fuel voucher is a 6c/L discount, so the highest discount you would get there with a Woolworths fuel voucher and either the EG Club discount in this deal or your RACV member discount is 11c/L.

You can read more about EG Ampol’s discounts here.

we have access to wish gift cards, i assume we can use them to pay at ampol EG

          Yep.

You can use physical/digital WISH gift cards, physical/digital Essentials gift cards and digital EG Ampol gift cards as payment methods at EG Ampol. You can also use AmpolCash physical gift cards as a payment method, but not AmpolCash Digital gift cards.

You should check whether you can purchase digital Essentials gift cards at a 4% discount via your RACV membership, because apparently some RACV members can. Of course, if you can access 5% off WISH gift cards via a VIC Seniors Card membership, ignore the previous suggestion!

A hot tip: if you are using a digital gift card issued by Woolworths Group, tell the attendant you want to use an eGift Card as a payment method. If you instead say Gift Card, the attendant will assume you want to redeem a physical gift card and the EFTPOS terminal will boot into a mode where you can redeem a Visa/Mastercard/eftpos/AMEX card or a physical gift card from Woolworths Group or an AmpolCard or an AmpolCash physical gift card.

          (which are run by woolies).

          Nope, not anymore.

Nearly all of the EG Ampol service stations were once operated by Woolworths Group under the Woolworths Petrol brand. However, Woolworths Group sold off their service station portfolio in 2018, and Euro Garages (EG) took over operations in 2019.

          • @WookieMonster: Does everyday pay work at EG? Would make paying with gift card easier.

            • +1

@CheapBrah: No (which is unfortunate, because it is the one retailer where I hate redeeming Woolworths Group gift cards at, and is the reason I now only use AmpolCash physical gift cards).

          • +1

@WookieMonster: @WookieMonster, thanks the info. We have access to 5% off gift card using seniors card. I have looked at the Fuel wiki page and trying to work out which one gives us best value. quite flexible on soending $30 with either woolies or coles. So far, using discounted gift card, use EG fuel station with 4c (woolies fule offer) + 5c (RACV or EG app) appears to be better value. Till now, been using coles express with 4c fuel offer + 4c carsales.

Real OZBargainers have choppers ready for takeoff

    • +4

Seems to be getting more and more difficult to get the choppers flying these days, plus stacking these Woolies and EG offers can potentially be equal or better than getting to the chopper!

    • +4

Real OzBargainers do quick arithmetic to see whether these fuel discounts are cheaper than a chopper.

7-Eleven is definitely not a nationwide fuel retailer, and I am currently over 700km from the nearest 7-Eleven service station, so it would be pure lunacy for me to try and use a chopper.

When I am living not-so-far away from a 7-Eleven, I still find a local EG Ampol cheaper to fill up at than a chopper. The chopper is not always cheapest, which is the reason this wiki exists.

Received the offer, but EG app is atrocious on Android. Keeps crashing and logging me out when I switch apps.

    • I don't know about the crashing yet, but wow.
Just installing, setting it up and linking my Everyday card, used over 10% of my phone battery, and the phone is now quite warm.
I can't imagine I will be using it much if its that much of a hog.

    • +1

I couldn't even register, 'Unknown Error', what a dumpster fire.

  • +3

Cheers, bit hard to find where to link first but all good now!

    • I am still trying to find it. Can you help?

      • +1

Go in rewards on the bottom tab. Then login everyday rewards.

        • Got it. Just have to login there and that's it, right?

  • +1

Just in time of low cycle

  • can I use caltex starcash gift card to pay? Thx

It is very confusing with Ampol and eg

    • +4

I have used Caltex StarCash physical gift cards and AmpolCash physical gift cards at EG Ampol to pay for fuel and had no issues using it in conjunction with EG Ampol’s fuel discount offers.

Keep in mind that EG Ampol do not accept Caltex StarCash Digital gift cards nor AmpolCash Digital gift cards (and there are some other Ampol franchisees that do not accept the digital gift cards either at some of their service stations, so EG is not alone in this regard).

I don’t think it is really that confusing with EG Ampol anymore, because it has become quite straightforward once EG and Ampol dropped legal actions against each other over a year ago. Before this happened, EG had most of its service stations selling fuel supplied by Ampol, but there were a handful selling fuel supplied by Chevron…

      • Ampol is a network of over 1800 service stations across Australia. Only ~600 of these service stations are operated by Ampol themselves (and those are called Ampol Foodary or Ampol Woolworths MetroGo), with the remaining ~1200 service stations operated by Ampol franchisees (including EG, Bennett’s Petroleum and TASCO).

      • AmpolCard is accepted at all Ampol service stations across Australia.

      • AmpolCash physical gift cards are accepted at all Ampol service stations across Australia if a PIN is set on it. If no PIN is set, AmpolCash physical gift cards cannot be used at Ampol service stations where you “pay at the pump” (which usually refers to transactions at Ampol service stations where you pay at an outdoor payment machine rather than in-person at a convenience store with an attendant helping to process the transaction).

      • AmpolCash Digital gift cards are only accepted at around 1200 Ampol service stations across Australia. EG Ampol is the largest group of Ampol service stations not accepting AmpolCash Digital gift cards, but there are others.

      • There are different fuel discount offers across different parts of the Ampol network. For example, service stations operated by Ampol (i.e. Ampol Foodary, Ampol Woolworths MetroGo) have their own set of fuel discounts (e.g. myNRMA, myToyota, Woolworths at some of these service stations), EG Ampol has its own set of fuel discount offers (e.g. Woolworths, Origin Energy, RACV), Bennett’s Petroleum has its own set of fuel discount offers (e.g. Hill Street Grocer, 7HOFM, UTAS Student Discount)… You can read about it here.

      • It should be quite easy to tell whether an Ampol service station is one operated by Ampol, EG Ampol or another Ampol franchisee. Service stations operated by Ampol will have Foodary or Woolworths MetroGo branding on the pylon (price board) and above the convenience store entrance). Service stations operated by EG will have EG branding on the pylon and above the convenience store entrance. Service stations operated by someone else (e.g. Bennett’s Petroleum) will have the name of the service station above the convenience store entrance (e.g. Ampol Cooma, Ampol Montrose), assuming you go to such an Ampol with a convenience store.

    • Nop

    • +1

Me too, first it was after I put in the email verification code and get to put in my personal details. Now I can't even get past the email (or phone) verification code step. UNKNOWN ERROR. Pathetic.

    • same. I gave up

    • Could be getting OzBargained haha

    • Yep

    • Yes

  • +1

Couldn't register similar to others above

  • +1

    same. unknown error.

  • +1

    Can’t register, unknown error..

  • +1

Phone/Email already registered with EG Club

not allowed to either log in/register

guess will try again on another day. hope will be fixed by the time

    • Same for me

  • Anyone actually get this to work? I'm getting the same error trying to sign up.

This deal should be reported as unobtainable unless someone actually managed it.

    • Same error here..

    • +1

No problems here. Boosted via the WW rewards app.
      Downloaded the EG app.
Did the sign up process. Logged my Rewards number.
No dramas at all. 5c fuel discount showing on app.
Waiting on the 1000 WWR points

      • It worked today.

Unfortunately, the app requires a unique mobile number so its hard to use multiple accounts with multiple Rewards accounts.

        • +3

          614xxxxxxxx
          04xxxxxxxx

  • I had the "Unknown Error" earlier (around 5.30pm) but it seems to have fixed itself now and I'm away.

  • I got it to work quite easily, though like @whitcut the app used a lot of battery (around 7%) and my phone got very warm. It seems poorly optimised.

Does anyone know if we can uninstall the app after linking Everyday Rewards?

  • did anyone manage to register with this ? App seems full of bugs

  • +6

Couldn’t registered, never received the confirmation email. Checked spam box and tried resend many times. WTF they promoting an buggy app! (App has 2.8 rating)

    • WTF they promoting an buggy app!

they need more people to test the app

    • Buggy App may cause buggy rewards points issuance later.

    • +1

Same, never got any email (and I tried with different addresses on 2 separate servers)

  • +9

Anyone got the registration to work? It sends the verification code via mob. no. but doesn’t seem to be sending the verification codes via email. Email registration is a must, so need to get the verification codes via email.

    • +1

I'm getting the same problem (on Android)

    • +1

Same prob, anyone get it to work?

    • Also having same problem on Android.

    • Having the same issue. Received the code via text but received nothing via email.

  • +2

same issue, couldn't receive the last email code to register.

  • +3

I've been having the same problem as everyone else where it wouldn't send the email code. But I tried again today and miraculously it worked! Hopefully this means they've fixed the bug.

After registering successfully in the app then go to the Rewards button at the bottom of the screen, then click Everyday Rewards. After linking my Everyday Rewards details I thought it had failed again, but actually it was just very slow and it was successfully linked after waiting about 5 minutes.

    • +1

thank you so much for your update, it's worked.

  • This is working for me now.

    • Same here I sent them feedback lol

  • +2

    Received the points today

    • Me too.

    • Same here

    • +1

Yes, even though it is automatic, the description says Manual Credit.

Time to unlink now for the next round..
