It increases cholesterol, though total cholesterol itself isn't a particularly useful marker
It is a hydrogenated oil made in a factory vat. Such a process usually results in transfats. Plus there are concerns around seed oils and inflammation that leads to atherosclerosis. Stick to natural foods like butter. The Paul Mason video linked by inasero is good.
The less you use the more you lower it
If you're concerned about your cholesterol, stick to butter/ghee/olive oil and avoid this stuff, please
Agree, coconut oil is good also.
Avoid seed and vegetable oils as they represent little nutritional benefit. The rise in use of these oils has a strong correlation with the rise is obesity and disease. They're created from food byproducts using modern manufacturing techniques and marketed as if theyre good for you so companies can turn a profit from something that historically would have been thrown in the trash.
Hard to eliminate from diet completely as they're everywhere, but certainly try to minimise intake.

one wonder what oil the restaurants, takeaways and fast food places use?
usually canola, it takes high heat so can be used in deep fryer or frying pans, and neutral taste so can be used in dressings …..
That sounds like either wishful thinking or a better, more expensive restaurant.
I believe it's safe to assume it's rather a cheaper oil like soybean oil. Happy to be corrected!
(Edit: If we're talking deepfrying!)
1/3 of the standard price of Nutellex that hardly goes on sale these days…
Does it lower cholesterol
