    I’m planning to travel to Japan in December 2023.
    How soon after purchase must I activate this?
    Can I buy and only activate just before leaving at end Nov? (Both eSIM for my phone and a physical SIM for. mobile WiFi device)

              @grrrrr: Sorry you are mixing up with the physical SIMs which has 30 June 2024 expiry (10 and 20GB variant).

              The eSIMs expires in 6 months it has to be used within 6 months of purchase.

      If you go into the city yes you can, price probably closer to $10 things have changed since the introduction of imei unlock.

      However what we offer is conveniece of getting the sim card before hand and having it to work when you land

    Reminder that many US telcos have free e-sim trials and that there are apps like Airalo which can be very competitive and have the convenience of being an app making it easy to install and manage the e-sims.

    I personally use Airalo and love the fact I can top up my e-sims if I use too much data and I can easily re-use old e-sims if I return to a country.

      yeah i used their service last year for a US trip, and it was great. There WAS an issue activating it before i left, but was quickly sorted. But going again later this year, and tempted to use the free e-sim trials

    Hi @TravelKon, for the Europe esims, when you say expire in 60 days, they have to be activated by/within 60 days or if you don't use the whole 30 days by 2 months they'll expire?

    Had gotten the USA esim for a two week trip. It was easy to set up but worked 10% of the time. It took so long through emails whilst i had wifi trying to sort it out that by the time it did, the trip ended. Moreover, no one replied to my last email.

    Have heard that it works fine for others but not for me and didnf have a great experience gerring support for it to be resolved.

    I bought this for my trip to Japan in March/April. However, I experienced two days without internet access, which was very frustrating. The speeds were also quite slow compared to 4G in Sydney.

      Hello during that period there was an outage that causes internet access to dropped out, we have been very responsive throughout via live chat to all affected customer.

      We do appreciate the patience and understanding that the outage is really out of our control and the event is a rare occurance.

      Our Japan SIMs are the top seller and we have sold thousands without any issues.

    I was looking into Roaming via Telstra prepaid as they have some more competitive pricing now, however they don't offer roaming in Spain or Italy which seems odd as these are two of the most popular destinations. Anyone know why these two countries wouldn't be offered?

        As in, you can only make calls from Spain?

          The €10 and €15 plan has calls within EU. €15 plan has calls to Pakistan and Turkey but from Spain only.

      No the 128kbps is only when you go over the data allowance i.e. The SIMs still work but just slower speed.

        You can "scan" the QR code in Australia and activation process takes less than 2 minutes.

        Also, make sure you select the correct network as per their instructions. I forgot to do that and had connection/disconnection issue but all good once I selected the correct network.

    If I was to get the Asia Explorer one for 30 days, do I just activate it myself prior to my trip? (In November 2023)

    If so, I'll be visiting Taiwan, Thailand and probably Vietnam, do I just leave the SIM in the phone and it will just automatically work for those 3 countries when I am there?

      Hello yes you just need to insert the SIM and then data roaming on.

      It will work in all the countries you mentioned.

    In the Physical SIMs table, Japan 30 Days 30GB has expiry 31/12/2023, while the 10GB and 20GB options have expiry 30/06/2024. Just checking whether this is correct, as I was hoping to get the 30GB option for 2024.

      Yes we had newer stock for the 10 and 20GB so the expiry is now 30 June 2024 for those variant.

    I can only find a 30 day option…

    NEW World Explorer SIM 365 days with 13GB of data (yes 365 days so you can use this SIMs for multiple trips, what's more once you have used up the data allowance, the data still work at 128 KBPs which is enough for messaging

    Just got back from Vietnam where I was using the Asia Explorer Travel eSIM.

    The reception was pretty terrible, even in the main cities. Was this because of the local networks there, or is it an inherent issue with data roaming? e.g. having to re-route traffic?

      Hello if you have issues you can contact us to troubleshoot, there are two networks which you could use Vinaphone and Viettel to see which one gives you better coverage.

          We won't know until tomorrow unfortunately - they inform us of any extension at the very last minute, but at this stage the promotion ends today. So if you use it October it won't have double validity

    Hi @TravelKon, I wanted to get the "Hong Kong CSL 30 Days" but noted that the expiry on Ozbargain says "31/12/2023" but when I click the link and go to the website page, the expiry in the top description section says "30/12/2023" and the detailed section under "What's Included" says "Expire 30 December 2024".

    If the expiry is actually the earliest date, 30/12/2023, I actually land on the 30th but at night so I wanted to make sure it wasn't an issue to activate all the way on the last day?
