Welcome to the ultimate guide of Xbox Game Pass subscriptions!

IMPORTANT UPDATE 26 JULY 2023:

OlduBil: "Transfers from foreign bank accounts to our bank accounts in Turkey are not possible".

  • OlduBil is no longer accepting deposits/transfers from foreign bank accounts. Please DO NOT make any transfers into OlduBil (i.e. your Türkiye Mastercard) until further notice!

  • If you already have the funds in OlduBil from a previous transfer, you are free to use it for anything. For those wanting to top up your Türkiye Mastercard, please DO NOT initiate any transfers into OlduBil from Wise or Revolut until I have a new update

  • This deal is expired and is effectively over at this point in time. Every transfer done is at your own risk!

18/07/23: OlduBil has increased their top-up fees to 9.3% (up from 6.25%) stating "Dear customer, our global operations cost increased due to high inflation rate in Turkish Lira. In order to continue the service we provide you we had to change our top-up commission to 9,3%. We appreciate your understanding and support."

Updates:

  • 26/06/23 11:40pm - Turkish Lira have crashed even more, so I've corrected all prices in this guide!
  • 26/06/23 11:40pm - Fixed the incorrect plan total amount, thanks to @6wolfy9
  • 27/06/23 1:30pm - Due to the sudden and large number of transfers from you guys, Wise is now giving a transfer date of 3rd July. Please avoid Wise if you can and go the Revolut route. I can confirm Revolut transfers are much faster within minutes (or hours at the latest). For those who have already initiated a transfer via Wise, feel free to cancel the transfer (or let it send anyway in case you want to buy cheap Turkey products and services or sign up to other cheap Turkey subs) and go to Revolut.
  • 28/06/23 1:00pm - Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer. - thanks to @netsurfer
  • 03/07/23 2:00am - Edited method, I'm so sorry for making all of you pay for an extra month for no reason for the 36 months plan. Please forgive me.
  • 04/07/23 6:30pm - Microsoft must have caught on, and are blocking OlduBil Virtual cards due to security issues (good fraud prevention). This is an easy fix, and THIS DEAL IS STILL WELL AND ALIVE! Here's what you need to do:
    • Log on microsoft, then go to Contact Us. Click "Contact us" to bring up the 'Contact us' window. For the first dropdown field "What are you having trouble with", select "Subscriptions and Billing". For the second dropdown field "What's the issue", select "I need help purchasing content". For the third field "Describe your issue", man up and say something. Click "Next" > "See contact options" > "Chat online" then you'll be connected with an agent instantly. Tell them you are not able to add your credit card and ask if there's a problem on your MS account. If they ask ridiculous questions, pretend it's all working fine and start a new chat.

Credits to @Scrooge McDeal, who suggested I make a guide on this awesome ALL TIME LOW deal! And you probably know me by now - if I make a guide, best believe it's gonna be good (let me know if someone else can do it better pls). Like Netflix and Disney Plus and literally every guide I've made, I spent a chunk of money out of generosity to test the current validity of this method (I tested transfers from Wise into OlduBil) as well as annotating screenshots throughout the sign-up process (see screenshots in the instructions section). From this testing, I believe this opens a new doorway to a variety of insane deals and prices we weren't able to previously obtain. Please show some love and any comments, concerns, suggestions or feedback are welcome :)

Modern problems require modern solutions. Like Youtube, Netflix, Discord, Google One, Microsoft 365, relocating (virtually of course) to Turkey is usually the best option, with some methods saving hundreds or thousands of dollars each year added up.

The processes below are very easy, just take it slow and you'll get there! Just remember you'll be saving hundreds at the end of the day. The 14 month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan will cost ₺374,94 TL ($21.64 AUD, or $1.55/mth) and the 36 month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan will cost ₺1034,72 TL ($59.68 AUD, or $1.66/mth). Note that despite the long term 36 month plan has a higher $/mth, it works out cheaper because if you signed up to 14 months, you'll be paying almost 3 times higher if you want to extend at the end of the 14th month.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • No VPN required
  • You must have no current subscriptions

Part 2a - Topping up your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard with Wise (App or Web)

Wise fee: ~A$2.13, OlduBil fee: 6.25% of transfer (~A$4.35 for a ₺1200 TL transfer)

Update: 28/06/23 1:00pm - **Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer.

  1. Log in or create an account on Wise. You can use the Wise website, or the Wise app on the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android).

  2. Top up Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Wise account (at least $30 AUD for the 14 month plan, $75 for the 36 month plan but no more than $160 because OlduBil allows a maximum deposit of ₺2750,00 TL ≈ A$160 per month). You can add Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Wise account via PayID (instant, no fee), POLi (instant, $1.18 AUD fee) or Manual Bank Transfer (business days only, no fee).

  3. Convert your Australian Dollars (AUD) to Turkish Lira (TRY). This conversion should be instant. To do this, click onto "Australian Dollar", then "Convert", then select AUD → TRY and type in the amount you wish to convert and press "continue" then "convert". Wise charges a 1.07% fee for AUD-TRY conversions.

  4. Send your newly converted Turkish Lira to your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard. To do this, click onto "Turkish Lira", then "Send", then select "Same currency". Enter the amount of Turkish Lira you wish to transfer (Note: Wise charges a ₺24.34 TL flat fee for a single transfer, so this fee will be added onto the amount you enter). Click "continue", then "New contact", then "Someone else". On this page, leave the "their email" box empty, and tick "I know their bank details". For the "Full name of the account holder" field, type in "TURK ELEKTRONIK PARA A.S." and for the "IBAN" field, type in the IBAN you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. Continue and in the "Review transfer details" section (see screenshot), double check everything is correct and then for the "Reference for TURK" field, you must type in your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard number (without spaces). Tick the confirmation box and then "Confirm and send". This transfer will only be initiated during normal Turkey business hours and takes around 10 minutes on Wise's end. My transfer took 2 hours to land into my OlduBil account.

Note: Make sure you only transfer the amount you actually need to pay for your subscription (add a few dollars extra in case due to currency fluctuations) because due to regulations, OlduBil does not allow withdrawals unless you originally signed up with a Turkey phone number.

Part 2b - Topping up your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard with Revolut (App only)

Revolut fee: ~A$1.79, OlduBil fee: 6.25% of transfer (~A$4.35 for a ₺1200 TL transfer)

Update: 28/06/23 1:00pm - **Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer.

  1. Download the Revolut app on the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android) if you don't already have it installed.

  2. Open the app and log in or create an account (if you don't have it already).

  3. Top up Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Revolut account (at least $30 AUD for the 14 month plan, $75 for the 36 month plan but no more than $160 because OlduBil allows a maximum deposit of ₺2750,00 TL ≈ A$160 per month). You can add Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Revolut account via a debit/credit card (instant, no fee), Apple Pay (instant, no fee), Google Pay (instant, no fee) or Manual Bank Transfer (usually instant, no fee).

  4. Convert your Australian Dollars (AUD) to Turkish Lira (TRY). This conversion should be instant. To do this, select "Australian Dollar", then "Exchange", then select AUD → TRY and type in the amount you wish to convert and press "Review order" then "Sell AUD for TRY". Revolut charges no fee for currency conversions.

  5. Send your newly converted Turkish Lira to your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard. To do this, go to the buttom tabs of the app and click onto "Transfer", then "+ New" (top right corner), then select "Send International". Scroll down and select "Türkiye" as the destination. Enter the amount of Turkish Lira you wish to transfer (Note: Revolut charges a ₺30.15 TL flat fee for a single transfer, so this fee will be added onto the amount you enter). For the transer method, select "Bank Account" (this is probably default anyway). For the Reference field, you must type in your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard number (without spaces). Click "Continue", then on the "Who to pay" page, tap "+ New" (top right corner). Select the "Business" tab. For the IBAN field, type in the IBAN you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. For the BIC/SWIFT field, type in the BIC code you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. For the "Company name", type in "TURK ELEKTRONIK PARA A.S." and ignore the email field. Press "Add the recipient" then on the following page, enter the VakıfBank address (the one from Part 1 Step 3) and review the transfer and estimated arrival, then send it off to Turkey :))

HELP POINT using VakıfBank: TBC but very similar to Aktifbank (just different bank information) see above screenshots for process

Note: Make sure you only transfer the amount you actually need to pay for your subscription (add a few dollars extra in case due to currency fluctuations) because due to regulations, OlduBil does not allow withdrawals unless you originally signed up with a Turkey phone number.

      • Oh mom. I tell you before proceeding with losing money I'm looking on Google I have seen that many people use Fups

        • +1

That required a Turkish phone number

        • +1

You can use Fups. Feel free. Just note that if you accidentally log out or lose your phone or something, you lose your Fups CC forever. Hence why I never investigated Fups as I don't want this happening to OzBargainers.

          • @I Smell Pennies: They don’t don’t allow Australian numbers though, what’s the best way around this?

          • @I Smell Pennies: Thank you so much for your answer. This is what happened to me a few days ago . I didn't realize that the problem was the logout

            • @dothack: Which country did you use to receive the code and how did you do it?

              • @Yaas: It looks like PingMe (https://pingme.tel/) supports a Turkey number for Fups. I did not try this combination personally, but I did use PingMe for other service and it worked.

                • @zeppy: Thank you I will try this and let you know!

                • @zeppy: Ping me charges for each incoming SMS :/

                  • @Yaas: Yeah that's right. It's cheap enough for the services that only verify the phone numbers at registration step.

I don't know how Fups works. Does it require an SMS verification regularly?

                    • @zeppy: No idea just looked into it now I haven’t registered

              • @Yaas: Forgive me but which app are you talking about? If you are referring to fups i have not received anything i am not able to register

                • @dothack: Yes I was talking about fups because you replied to a previous comment saying you got logged out and couldn’t get back in?

@Digbo: @Digbo and what app or website did you use to generate a Turkish phone number?

              • @dothack: 5sim

                • @Digbo: Is there a services to get a more permanent Turkish number? Like to buy just to keep for sms verification? 5sim seems pretty good in pricing, but what if i loose access to that number and FUPS asks for a verification code

                  • +2

                    @jayboi: You're probably fupped

                  • @jayboi: Follow the steps I mentioned above to have access to FUPS even if you're logged out.

                    • @Digbo: Do they not need to send any verification code to the original number put in?

                      • +1

@jayboi: No, after you click on forgot password, you just follow the steps:

enter +90 number from account (Account -> Personal information)
                        continue

                        enter CVV
enter card pin (you have set during registration)
                        continue
                        set new password

                        • @Digbo: I can't see the option to enter the "last 4 payments from Fups credit card" nor CVV.

                          Which screen is this on?

            • @Digbo: Hi mate, how do I retrieve my +90 phone number from Account -> Personal Information if I'm logged (and therefore cannot access my account)? What am I missing?

            • @Digbo: It says transaction failed for this method. Any ideas??

  • +1

I’ve tried a US number but it doesn’t work. I can’t seem to get a Turkish number

  • As above confirm garanti doesn’t work (revolut). Luckily I got TRY1100 in Oldubil for my upcoming Disney 12 month and office sub for a few months. Thanks again for the guide @I Smell Pennies Seems like a dead end for Oldubil.

Already seems like Google blocked it. Worked a week or so using Turkish profile. Apple still works. Only thing got 680TRY in revolut. Pretty sure able to use it somewhere.

    • You can always use other methods for office and disney+. Main use case for me is spotify but i should have enough funds there to last me 2-3 years

      • +1

Yeah that’s true. Already 1 year on Spotify and YouTube. About to swap over Netflix next week when aus sub expire. Maybe use other payments for Disney next month to keep in Oldubil for other Apple subs and payments. Decisions decisions. Probably end up using Oldubil try first. Office is 23.99TRY/month.

        • +1

@IMBI3 used(drained) my revolut and bought try iTunes. Added on Apple and worked.
          Keeping Oldubil for other purchases.

          • +1

@Mikael: Had 100try left and bought a Google 100try for my Turkish account. When redeemed it says cannot redeem as not in that country. Think they blocked my Google pay. Was working a week ago and just stopped. Oh well.
Opening another Turkish Google eventually and using the code.

  • One question, why can't we find some card that gives us the possibility of being able to load money directly onto the card and not via a current account?
I saw which Russian blog use a card called ININAL or BINANCE.
I tried to send the money via revolut but it does not give the possibility to send the money.

  • +2

What's the top up threshold for FUPS before they start asking for ID + Selfie + blood sample ?

I would NOT recommend ININAL as threshold is super low AND they require your Passport + SELFIE . God knows where your info is gonna end up.

    • +1

2.750,00 is the limit for the standard account, it is also the maximum balance you can hold.

      • thanks for clarifying did you use PingMe app to get Turkish number ? cheers

        • I used 5sim.net

          • @Premoz: What forms of payment did you click? There’s so many too choose

            • @jayboi: same I'm unable to top up account via my bank cards so trying via Revolut now. I sent a bank wire, will update

            • @jayboi: I used Bitcoin.

  • no success with revolut using all bank list from oldubil :(

I can confirm that transferring from Revolut > FUPS > Oldubil definitely works. I have tested a couple of transfers and was all fine. FUPS is a bit fiddly to setup at first, but once it is in place the transfers are relatively easy and quick. You will require PingMe and need to purchase a FUPS debit card. Approx $20 setup cost to use PingMe for FUPS verification and get the card, but then will be able to reuse FUPS repeatedly until the FUPS card expires in a few years or you accidentally lose FUS account.

If you are worried that you might accidentally lose FUPS account, just make sure not to leave funds stored there and transfer in Oldubil as soon as possible.

    • Thanks, I just registered my FUPS card!

EDIT: I'm at the step where you transfer funds from Revolut to FUPS but upon adding my card details it throws an error: 'this bank does not support card transfers to this card'

      • +1

I encountered the same issue with Revolut, as they appear to not like transferring directly to FUPS card for some reason. To get around this you need to do a international bank transfer to the linked account of the FUPS card, rather than directly to card itself. The details for the bank transfer can be found in FUPS app by going to:
Topup button > Topup From Bank Account > Other

Below are the bank transfer details for convenience (note that the address details are missing from the FUPS app):
        VakifBank
        IBAN: TR570001500158007312667702
        BIC / SWIFT: TVBATR2A
Company Name: LYDİANS ELEKTRONİK PARA VE ÖDEME HİZMETLERİ ANONİM ŞİRKETİ

        RECIPIENT ADDRESS:
        Street and number:
Finanskent Mah. Finans Cad. Sarphan Finanspark
        A Blok Kat 8
        ZIP Code: 34760
        Location/City:Istanbul

Also, make sure to use the linked account number of FUPS card in the description section during transfer (rather than the FUPS card number).

        • Awesome, thanks mate. I'm battling with the recipient address. Revolut keeps complaining about unsupported characters.

          • @Cineaste: If you have a colon ":" character in address, that is often what causes that unsupported characters error.

            • @Hank: Wonderful, thanks. Funds on the way!

            • @Hank: Forgot to ask - what is the reason for transferring from FUPS to Oldubil? Isn't FUPS the equivalent to Oldubil?

              • +1

@Cineaste: You can pay directly with FUPS, but it will apply a 5% transaction fee to your purchase on the Xbox Store. If you want to avoid the fee, then you transfer to Oldubil first and pay with their virtual card. This transfer is quick and occurs instantly if you top up with the FUPS card. Another advantage of Odubil is that you can leave funds in there for a while to do purchases later and not worry about losing the funds in account, which might be a risk with leaving any funds in FUPS.

As an aside, I think there might be a way to restore FUPS account in the app if you logout or lose phone. The problem is that people usually use a temporary Turkey mobile number to verify FUPS which then becomes associated to FUPS account. So if you need to login to FUPS and verify again you won't have that temp number to use anymore. I'm thinking it might be possible to just contact FUPS support and tell them that you have changed number to verify again, since your email stays associated to FUPS account. I have never tested this though.

                • @Hank: Wouldn't copping the 5% transaction fee still be preferable to the 9.25% fee Oldubil charge though? Or am I misunderstanding something here?

                  • +2

@Hawk Tuah: I didn't get charged any transfer fee from FUPS to Oldubil as it is was considered a local transfer within Turkey. I think the 9.25% Oldubil fee you refer to are for international transfers which would apply if you go direct from Revolut to Oldubil. So probably another added advantage of using FUPS than just Revolut and Oldubil.

            • @Hank: I cant get it to work. Ive pasted this exactly. Do you see any reason why it wouldnt work?

Finanskent Mah. Finans Cad. Sarphan Finanspark
              A Blok Kat 8

              • @Jklaro: You have to type it, it doesn't like it when you copy/paste

          • @Cineaste: How did you fix that as i only have .

    • How long did FUPS take to fund your account once you've sent the wire from Revolut ? been 2 days for me still not updated cheers

      • It should take less than 1 day. The first transfer I tried out took less than 30 mins as it was during Turkey business hours. The second transfer I did took longer as it was after Turkey business hours - Revolut took about half a day and then FUPS accepted the funds about an hour after Turkey business hours started.

        • Funds received same day, woo!

    • Damn! No more numbers available on pingme

    • Can you confirm how to send money to oldubil? Do I need to verify my identity first?

  • @nzcoops check your Revolut account balance. I just received my refund for the failed Garanti transaction. The journey continues on FUPS..

    • ooo thanks mate! FUPS eh, will give it a read and have a crack.

      • Give it a try. I reveived my funds on FUPS within hours.

    • How long is take for you to get the refund? I haven’t gotten the refund yet and it’s been 17 days. I asked revolut to do a recall and it’s been 10 days since that and still nothing :/ so I was wondering do you have any tips or how long exactly did yours take?

  • I'm glad I looked here before transferring to oldubil.. So the new method is fups? I'm struggling to find out how to get a number. Ping me has no more numbers available.

    • Just keep trying. They will eventually have a number pop up.

  • All hail to @Hank for providing us with a workaround. Funds received same day via Revolut to FUPS, and onwards to Oldubil.

That's another year of PS Plus Deluxe sorted.

    • What address did you use? Revolut is saying unsupported characters but I don't have any colon symbols or anything

      • Same as what Hank shared above. You have to manually enter the address for the error to be resolved.

        • That worked appreciate it.

        • Last question sorry. Do I need to verify my identity or anything when sending to oldubil? I have 0 in my fups account now but clicking send money to an IBAN requires me to upgrade my account :/

          • @woonz: I went through the same motions at first.

You don't initiate the transfer from Fups but Oldubil > Deposit Money > Deposit via debit card. From here, just enter your Fups card details, nominate an amount and you're done. Funds received instantly. No IDs needed.

            • @Cineaste: Rip, it requires me to identify still even after receiving the funds. Not sure why unfortunately.

              • @woonz: Did you send the funds to your card or the linked bank account?

                • @Cineaste: I followed Hank's guide so now I have 800 lira in my fups account.

Either trying to create a virtual card or clicking "sent to IBAN", it's asking me to verify my id :(

I'm afraid the funds are stuck there forever now.

                  • @woonz: Hang on, you need to purchase a virtual debit card to link with Fups. You wont be getting this from within the app.

                    Google Plati Market.

                    • @Cineaste: Ohhhh, man I'm too old for this

                      • +1

@woonz: If you want more detailed instructions on how to transfer from Revolut > FUPS > Oldubil, you can refer to this post on hotukdeals (the site is a UK equivalent of OzBargain):
                        https://www.hotukdeals.com/discussions/how-to-buy-directly-f…

It explains how to setup FUPS with the debit card in step 3.

                        • @Hank: I am stuck at the very final part of transferring to oldubil. On oldubil, the card is asking for 3ds verification but the fups app isn't sending out any approval requests to me.

Edit: it worked finally! Thank you everyone for helping.

                          • @woonz: How were you able to get the approval? I cannot seem to get it working.

                            • @batistaxd: So I have to have a crack at it about 6-7 times. I kept getting an error about the token being expired or something. So I found what worked for me was to force close the FUPS app. Initiate the deposit and as soon as I got the pop up tap on it. Before the error appears you have about half a second to click accept. I did that and it worked. Very janky but if it works it works.

                          • @woonz: I get a notification on fups saying
Your FUPS secure transaction confirmation is required. PAYMENT/TL LOADING

                            How do i confirm it?

            • @Cineaste: Im doing this deposit from oldubil. I go to fups and i have a notification

Your FUPS secure transaction confirmation is required. PAYMENT/TL LOADING

              How do i confirm it?

              • @Jklaro: Go to your app settings on your phone and enable push notifications for FUPS app. Then try again and you should get a notification to approve.

            • @Cineaste: Did you actually get the full amount from FUPS?
Like if you have ₺100 from FUPS and transferred it to Oldubil, will you be able to get the full amount?

    • what method did you use to buy the PS Plus using OlduBil? I tried many times using VPN on my phone and laptop and it didn't work

  • +3

I can confirm that Wise -> Oldubil using Garanti bank still works. I sent another 700 TL on 14/08 and received it today in Oldubil.

    • Thanks for the confirmation! Sounds like you didn't have to contact OlduBil for the funds to appear?

      • +1

Both my friend and I tried to transfer the money on Thursday 17th Aug from Wise to Oldubil (Made the transfer afternoon and received around 5pm). All worked. Unfortunately, we believe Wise will stop working for Turkey account after 30th August as we both received the email from Wise saying we can't convert the currencies after that date. We have topped all we can to Oldubil. Hope we can find some local friend to top up for us before all the money used.

        • Which bank did you use for Wise? Looking to try this now

          • +1

@TimmyShooterB: the original aktifbank mentioned in the post. I never change that since I setup the first transfer.

            • @Capt0083: Thanks i am going to try that now and will report back

Update: it worked! Using Wise 21/08/23. Sent money at 740pm Sydney time, it appeared in the oldubil wallet by 750pm.

              • @TimmyShooterB: I’m not sure if you are the case. But both me and my friend setup the Wise with Turkey address originally to use the virtual card to pay for YouTube. In July, Wise pulled out their business in Turkey and cancelled our virtual cards. We all got email from Wise that they will cease operation for Turkey account from 30th August. New Turkey account was stopped from creating since 30th July.

My guess is people who get the transfer rejected may setup their account as Australian one not the Turkey. This aligns with the comments from ISP that OlduBil no longer accepts transfer from foreign bank.

      • Just an update — sent 1,589.88 TRY after Wise fees through Up, using Garanti on 21/08. Sent a quick email with the PDF receipt to OlduBil on 26/7 and funds appeared today. Didn't see any commission fees or taxes on the OlduBil receipt though, so my wallet was topped up with 1,589.88 TRY.

    • I think you're the only one that worked.I'm trying to send money from my Revolut and non fund account The problem is not who ships. But who receives.

      • +1

Just use Wise. Revolut is confirmed not working anymore. I'm not the only one who still got it working with Wise though :)

I did have to contact OlduBil for the previous transactions. I purposely waited this time to test how long it would take for them to credit the amount without being contacted.

        • It's taken a full week for your funds to show up though. Revolut > Fups > Oldubil is guaranteed same day delivery if you make a request before/during office hours. Just something to keep in mind.

        • Did you send to oldubill the receipt that you download from Wise? The one that says that's a transfer from Wise into the bank account of Oldubill?

  • From the hotukdeals side of the world….. I created a couple of Oldubil accounts a couple of weeks ago using UK mobile numbers. But there seems to be a block in place now receiving the verification during signup. For quite a few people I have spoken to yesterday. Just trying to understand how big this problem is…..

Are you guys having problems creating new Oldubil accounts with Australian mobile numbers now?

    • I have just logged into Oldubil from a new device using Australian mobile for verification and was working fine. So seems to be no issue from this end.

      • Thanks for that.

Out of interest did the Oldubil verification text come from a service called Bilgimsj ? My successful sms verifications from a few weeks ago didnt mention Bilgimsj.

I was thinking theyve either pulled the plug on uk mobiles or its just a problem with the sms service ….
