Welcome to the ultimate guide of Xbox Game Pass subscriptions!

IMPORTANT UPDATE 26 JULY 2023:

OlduBil: "Transfers from foreign bank accounts to our bank accounts in Turkey are not possible".

  • OlduBil is no longer accepting deposits/transfers from foreign bank accounts. Please DO NOT make any transfers into OlduBil (i.e. your Türkiye Mastercard) until further notice!

  • If you already have the funds in OlduBil from a previous transfer, you are free to use it for anything. For those wanting to top up your Türkiye Mastercard, please DO NOT initiate any transfers into OlduBil from Wise or Revolut until I have a new update

  • This deal is expired and is effectively over at this point in time. Every transfer done is at your own risk!

18/07/23: OlduBil has increased their top-up fees to 9.3% (up from 6.25%) stating "Dear customer, our global operations cost increased due to high inflation rate in Turkish Lira. In order to continue the service we provide you we had to change our top-up commission to 9,3%. We appreciate your understanding and support."

Updates:

  • 26/06/23 11:40pm - Turkish Lira have crashed even more, so I've corrected all prices in this guide!
  • 26/06/23 11:40pm - Fixed the incorrect plan total amount, thanks to @6wolfy9
  • 27/06/23 1:30pm - Due to the sudden and large number of transfers from you guys, Wise is now giving a transfer date of 3rd July. Please avoid Wise if you can and go the Revolut route. I can confirm Revolut transfers are much faster within minutes (or hours at the latest). For those who have already initiated a transfer via Wise, feel free to cancel the transfer (or let it send anyway in case you want to buy cheap Turkey products and services or sign up to other cheap Turkey subs) and go to Revolut.
  • 28/06/23 1:00pm - Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer. - thanks to @netsurfer
  • 03/07/23 2:00am - Edited method, I'm so sorry for making all of you pay for an extra month for no reason for the 36 months plan. Please forgive me.
  • 04/07/23 6:30pm - Microsoft must have caught on, and are blocking OlduBil Virtual cards due to security issues (good fraud prevention). This is an easy fix, and THIS DEAL IS STILL WELL AND ALIVE! Here's what you need to do:
    • Log on microsoft, then go to Contact Us. Click "Contact us" to bring up the 'Contact us' window. For the first dropdown field "What are you having trouble with", select "Subscriptions and Billing". For the second dropdown field "What's the issue", select "I need help purchasing content". For the third field "Describe your issue", man up and say something. Click "Next" > "See contact options" > "Chat online" then you'll be connected with an agent instantly. Tell them you are not able to add your credit card and ask if there's a problem on your MS account. If they ask ridiculous questions, pretend it's all working fine and start a new chat.

Credits to @Scrooge McDeal, who suggested I make a guide on this awesome ALL TIME LOW deal! And you probably know me by now - if I make a guide, best believe it's gonna be good (let me know if someone else can do it better pls). Like Netflix and Disney Plus and literally every guide I've made, I spent a chunk of money out of generosity to test the current validity of this method (I tested transfers from Wise into OlduBil) as well as annotating screenshots throughout the sign-up process (see screenshots in the instructions section). From this testing, I believe this opens a new doorway to a variety of insane deals and prices we weren't able to previously obtain. Please show some love and any comments, concerns, suggestions or feedback are welcome :)

Modern problems require modern solutions. Like Youtube, Netflix, Discord, Google One, Microsoft 365, relocating (virtually of course) to Turkey is usually the best option, with some methods saving hundreds or thousands of dollars each year added up.

The processes below are very easy, just take it slow and you'll get there! Just remember you'll be saving hundreds at the end of the day. The 14 month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan will cost ₺374,94 TL ($21.64 AUD, or $1.55/mth) and the 36 month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan will cost ₺1034,72 TL ($59.68 AUD, or $1.66/mth). Note that despite the long term 36 month plan has a higher $/mth, it works out cheaper because if you signed up to 14 months, you'll be paying almost 3 times higher if you want to extend at the end of the 14th month.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • No VPN required
  • You must have no current subscriptions

Part 2a - Topping up your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard with Wise (App or Web)

Wise fee: ~A$2.13, OlduBil fee: 6.25% of transfer (~A$4.35 for a ₺1200 TL transfer)

Update: 28/06/23 1:00pm - **Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer.

  1. Log in or create an account on Wise. You can use the Wise website, or the Wise app on the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android).

  2. Top up Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Wise account (at least $30 AUD for the 14 month plan, $75 for the 36 month plan but no more than $160 because OlduBil allows a maximum deposit of ₺2750,00 TL ≈ A$160 per month). You can add Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Wise account via PayID (instant, no fee), POLi (instant, $1.18 AUD fee) or Manual Bank Transfer (business days only, no fee).

  3. Convert your Australian Dollars (AUD) to Turkish Lira (TRY). This conversion should be instant. To do this, click onto "Australian Dollar", then "Convert", then select AUD → TRY and type in the amount you wish to convert and press "continue" then "convert". Wise charges a 1.07% fee for AUD-TRY conversions.

  4. Send your newly converted Turkish Lira to your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard. To do this, click onto "Turkish Lira", then "Send", then select "Same currency". Enter the amount of Turkish Lira you wish to transfer (Note: Wise charges a ₺24.34 TL flat fee for a single transfer, so this fee will be added onto the amount you enter). Click "continue", then "New contact", then "Someone else". On this page, leave the "their email" box empty, and tick "I know their bank details". For the "Full name of the account holder" field, type in "TURK ELEKTRONIK PARA A.S." and for the "IBAN" field, type in the IBAN you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. Continue and in the "Review transfer details" section (see screenshot), double check everything is correct and then for the "Reference for TURK" field, you must type in your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard number (without spaces). Tick the confirmation box and then "Confirm and send". This transfer will only be initiated during normal Turkey business hours and takes around 10 minutes on Wise's end. My transfer took 2 hours to land into my OlduBil account.

Note: Make sure you only transfer the amount you actually need to pay for your subscription (add a few dollars extra in case due to currency fluctuations) because due to regulations, OlduBil does not allow withdrawals unless you originally signed up with a Turkey phone number.

Part 2b - Topping up your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard with Revolut (App only)

Revolut fee: ~A$1.79, OlduBil fee: 6.25% of transfer (~A$4.35 for a ₺1200 TL transfer)

Update: 28/06/23 1:00pm - **Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer.

  1. Download the Revolut app on the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android) if you don't already have it installed.

  2. Open the app and log in or create an account (if you don't have it already).

  3. Top up Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Revolut account (at least $30 AUD for the 14 month plan, $75 for the 36 month plan but no more than $160 because OlduBil allows a maximum deposit of ₺2750,00 TL ≈ A$160 per month). You can add Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Revolut account via a debit/credit card (instant, no fee), Apple Pay (instant, no fee), Google Pay (instant, no fee) or Manual Bank Transfer (usually instant, no fee).

  4. Convert your Australian Dollars (AUD) to Turkish Lira (TRY). This conversion should be instant. To do this, select "Australian Dollar", then "Exchange", then select AUD → TRY and type in the amount you wish to convert and press "Review order" then "Sell AUD for TRY". Revolut charges no fee for currency conversions.

  5. Send your newly converted Turkish Lira to your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard. To do this, go to the buttom tabs of the app and click onto "Transfer", then "+ New" (top right corner), then select "Send International". Scroll down and select "Türkiye" as the destination. Enter the amount of Turkish Lira you wish to transfer (Note: Revolut charges a ₺30.15 TL flat fee for a single transfer, so this fee will be added onto the amount you enter). For the transer method, select "Bank Account" (this is probably default anyway). For the Reference field, you must type in your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard number (without spaces). Click "Continue", then on the "Who to pay" page, tap "+ New" (top right corner). Select the "Business" tab. For the IBAN field, type in the IBAN you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. For the BIC/SWIFT field, type in the BIC code you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. For the "Company name", type in "TURK ELEKTRONIK PARA A.S." and ignore the email field. Press "Add the recipient" then on the following page, enter the VakıfBank address (the one from Part 1 Step 3) and review the transfer and estimated arrival, then send it off to Turkey :))

HELP POINT using VakıfBank: TBC but very similar to Aktifbank (just different bank information) see above screenshots for process

Note: Make sure you only transfer the amount you actually need to pay for your subscription (add a few dollars extra in case due to currency fluctuations) because due to regulations, OlduBil does not allow withdrawals unless you originally signed up with a Turkey phone number.

      • Wow worked for me! funds transferred almost instantly and into my Oldubil quickly too :)

      • +1

Yep quite fast! I didn't expect to send it today via revolut and receive it today. But just checked now (at 11pm) and the oldubil account has the funds

    • I got the same error too!

    • Ahh balls, was going to wait until next month to pick up BG3, Spodermang 2 & a few other games, may just head into Aldi tonight and grab a cheap sim and get whichever games I want before every bank decides we're too much trouble.

  • +3

Can confirm the Garanti Bank is working. Just loaded into my Oldibul account.

    • I did just today morning, it went through fine but not yet reflected in card. Have you got it by now?

      • I screwed up the transfer name last night, fixed it this morning.
My money has left wise, via Garanti Bank, (confirmed via email) but has not appeared in Oldubil yet.

      • 8pm Sydney, still nothing in Oldubil via Garanti Bank for me

        • i've just got mine - so it took about 12hours noting that i made the transfer around 2am Turkish time (9am AEST) - if that matters. And i've been charged close to 80 Lira by bank OlduBil (about 9% of my transfer, which sounds about right as per OP since they have increased fees)

          • @WhatsTheBigDeal: I submitted my original transfer request on Thursday night, but put the wrong name in ("Garanti Bankasi", instead of "TURK ELEKTRONIK PARA A.S.")
I got a rejection email from Wise (later on Thu night), but then updated to the correct name.
Wise performed the transfer at 4pm Friday, but nothing has appeared at Oldubil so far.
Hopefully it will be there on Monday evening.
I'm fully expecting the 9.3% fee will be deducted, but with the current zero balance, I can't sign up for anything yet.
Was even tempted to send a few hundred more lira from Wise to Oldubil via Vakifbank to see if that will proceed.

            • +1

@Zippy7: Did you get yours credited yet? I'm still waiting.

            • @Zippy7: Crap just realised I did the same thing. I used Revolut too. This was 5 days ago. Guess I've lost my money forever :(

  • Is this turkey technique still the cheapest way to get game pass?

  • Wise is asking for a turkish id number. Anyone know what this is?

    • Any luck with this? I've just gotten to this step…

      • UPDATE: I tried again this morning. Closed the app, re-opened and did the same transfer process. It asked me about my tax residency status, I clicked that I was a tax resident in Australia only, and the transfer went through without asking for Turkish ID.

        • When does it ask for this info mate? I've transferred funds over thrice earlier in the month and didn't get this, might be a new step they've implemented after the OzB hordes started transferring the GDP of a small nation over to get muh cheap games.

          • +1

@Hawk Tuah: Was just as you hit "Continue" at the last step before completing the transfer in Wise. It was weird because I literally just went to sleep, woke up and tried again and it worked LOL

Hello everyone, I would like to ask for your help. Since I was scammed 2 times by OlduBil I would like to ask you please could you help me make the payment?

    I'm a Revolut customer.

In addition to these data shown below, are there other things I need to know?

Please see below details for VakıfBank…

    VakıfBank IBAN: TR38 0001 5001 5800 7302 9638 73

See above few comments by others

Thank you for your answer but I would like to try fading a guide since 3 transfers have been stolen from me and I would like to try one last one.I am a Revolut user

  • Do I need to create a new virtual card if i previously signed up with Aktifbank?

I just created a Turkish PSN account and need to transfer more funds.

I overlooked this and put Garanti as company name instead. Still was received according to Revolut but nothing in my account yet. Should i contact them?

            • @Cineaste: Did this same thing and only realised now, but I did it 5 days ago. What's the go here, have we lost our money you think?

              • @sleeperc3ll: Is it still pending in Revolut as being credited to your account? You should get a refund in the next 24 hours!

                • @Cineaste: It isn't pending. When I click on the transaction it shows me the Transfer In Progress and it's 4/4 'Received by recipients bank' on the 21st of July

Think I'll have to just accept defeat here :(

Hi sorry but I would like to understand one thing so the steps:

        VakıfBank details:
Company/Receiver Name: TURK ELEKTRONIK PARA A.S.
        VakıfBank IBAN: TR38 0001 5001 5800 7302 9638 73
VakıfBank BIC: TVBATR2A (you'll only need this if topping up via Revolut)

Recipient Address for VakıfBank (you'll only need this if topping up via Revolut)

Street and number: SARAY MAHALLESI DR ADNAN B, NO 7/A-B UMRANIYE
             Zip code: 34768
             Town/City: ISTANBUL

to load the Oldubill account from Revolult are they wrong ?

EDIT: I'm sorry but as causal what should you put

      • Have given this a crack, let's see if it hits my OlduBil account!

      • I'm from Canada. Is there anyway for me to transfer funds to my FUPS card? Wise doesn't work, and we Canadians can't sign up for Revolut.

  • Looks like i screwed up this time. Accidentally put the bank name as recipient. Funds have been received but never credited. OlduBil says the amount cannot be located and to contact the bank instead.

    • If you paid via revolut, you'll get it back in about 5-6 days. That's what happened to me anyway!

      • Sweet, thanks. I had hoped that may be the case.

      • On that note, did you get notified of the refund or did the funds just show up in Revolut at some point?

        • I was notified by the app that the I had received funds.

    • How do you contact oldubil? through their email? did they speak english? I made 2 transfer still waiting for it to credit my account. Hopefully just taking time and not canceled :(

been 2 days since successful transfer on revolut, and about 12hrs on wise with successful transfer just haven't appear on oldubil :(

      • Shouldn't take 2 days but for your wise transfer c'mon man 12 hrs of which how many were working hours in Turkey?

        • @Arealtur Kishman 69 nah mate, think oldubil not accepting money from foreign banks anymore. think my money just gone pissing in the wind

          • @NeoX: Looks like there are some services on Google that will help you to top up odulbil

              • @xwx: Yeah not ideal but better than nothing. Saw one that offers ~ 50usd for 1000 lira (~60 usd if u add Oldu commission)

                  • +4

@xwx: Yeah too many spanners on here that were incapable of following basic instructions and sent money through with incorrect or missing details, sent funds through outside Turkish office hours then panicked and spammed Oldubil email, and my personal favourite the idiots that were emailing them two hours after transferring.

                  • @xwx: Hey do you happen to know any deal website such as mydealz etc. but for Italy? Cheers

      • @NeoX how did u go with the Wise transfer?

  • +3

Hi guys, just confirming that I just finished another purchase using Revolut to OlduBil (I used Garanti Bankasi instead of VakıfBank). I bought a bunch of games and some add-ons that were on sale at the Xbox store and worked all fine.

    • If I want to buy games do I just need to load up more money on the virtual Mastercard and then purchase it like the guide says to purchase the gold subscription?

  • +1

so i transferred 30 aud yesterday and then 30 today both didnt go through , came back to double check instructions , only just now seen transfers are no longer accepted , 60 bucks down the drain i guess.

    • +1

I just did 30 AUD before I read the update. Hopefully it'll end up back in Revolut.

      • Yeah I didn't clearly read the post in the Spotify deal, sent my money using the Garanti method tonight.

        • +2

I did Garanti this morning and it came through later in the day.

          • @tonyamazing: Oh cool, it worked! Thanks this gives me some confidence :D

          • @tonyamazing: I'm thinking that as I did it now when the Turk banks are open, it should clear in the next few hours before they close (sent from Revolut)

            • +1

@starspawn: Can you keep us updated?

              • +1

@IMBI3: Confirmed working! Money came through to Oldubil within an hour!

Just topped up 2 more years of PS Deluxe!

                On to Spotify next!

                • @starspawn: Legend, thanks

                • @starspawn: Did you have to stuff around with proxies on your PS5 as per that other deal?

                  • +1

@Cineaste: I followed these instructions to get Turkish Playstation Plus Deluxe: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/784211?page=2#comment-1395…

Basically, VPN (I used my existing GetFlix VPN) on my phone with an incognito tab to create my Turkish PSN account, and then I added the OlduBil card to my payment methods, then I added Turkish Lira currency to my account in 200 TL chunks. After that I purchased a year of Playstation Plus Deluxe, also still in my incognito tab and also on VPN.

I had tried the proxy method on my PS5 but could never get it to work.

                  • @Cineaste: No way! I used the Control D DNS setting on my Macbook, worked a treat!

    • So did yours go through? @tonyamazing transfer has gone through

  • do we have any alternative payment methods to use for spotify and netflix if oldubil is no longer working?

  • Anyone had their monthly Olduli money limit reset yet?

Edit: just noticed the update. Bummer.

    • +1

Resets on the 1st of the month, Turkish time presumably.

  • +2

Ive had two successful revolut to oldubil transfers since they said it was stopping transfers. Its a risk but they seem to still work.

  • +1

I transferred 2500 lira from Revolut to Oldubil this morning and it was in the olubil account this afternoon. It was a brand new account as well.

    • Which bank did you use? Vafik?

    • I am still waiting for my Garanti banm transfer to arrive. Sent last night. Hoping to arrive by tonight

      • Using wise or revolut?

        • Wise

          • @IMBI3: Ahh that tracks, seems like revolut might be the way to go now.

            • @Hawk Tuah: Did u have the same problem using wise?

              • @IMBI3: Nope but multiple people on this and the other oldubil threads have been reporting that revolut transfers are going through within hours while the handful that have used wise have reported funds havent gone through yet.

                • +1

@Hawk Tuah: Mine also waiting a few days, then I emailed them and they asking for PDF generated from Wise re transfer details, and the money appeared not long after they solved the ticket

am using Wise transfer to Garanti

  • +1

I transferred from Wise to Oldubil 3 days ago (via Garanti) and still wasn't showing up in my Oldubil balance. I emailed Oldubil with the transfer receipt from Wise and they credited my account within hours, so still working, just not quite STP.

    • Thanks. I will try this if mine doesn't arrive by Monday. I was expecting the money to be credited by yesterday based on previous transfers

      • Can you let us know how you go with this? Tempted to do another transfer..

        • Got it now. Took about 2 days to arrive from wise and an email. Maybe try using revolut instead

          • @IMBI3: So Oldubil claiming international transfers are not accepted is a lie then. Good to know.

            • @Cineaste: I have now got enough for Spotify for 2-3 years. I will worry about it later

    • Thanks for the tip, I've been waiting for my transfer from Wise to be credited in my Oldubil for over a week now.

  • Does anyone know if the deposit limit refreshes a month after your first deposit because it has been a little over a month and my deposit limit is still yet to refresh. Does it still refresh if i still have money in the account.

    • 1st of the month

    • +2

My deposit limit reset at 7:00am AEST. However, it appears that there is a total balance limit of ₺2750,00, not a total monthly deposit limit of ₺2750,00. That is, I still had a balance left in my account before 7:00am, and my remaining limit has now been reset to ₺2750,00 less the balance.

      • Same.

      • +1

It also looks like the deposit limit is crystallised at the start of the month. I've just transferred some funds into my PSN wallet, which has immediately decreased the OlduBil balance (as expected) but not increased my deposit limit.

    • +1

Careful the IRS is gonna get you

  • +1

Just did a transfer to Garanti Bankasi from Revolut and the money was credited within 3 hours!

  • Did a transfer with wise over 24 hours ago and still waiting. First time doing this, guess it's gone.

    • +1

"The amount could not be determined. You should contact your bank."

  • So many comments from revolut to Oldubil. Know there are current issues. Is garanti the best bet? My deposit limit went back today.
Needed few 100 transferred for YouTube and Spotify.
    1. The ones it worked for, are you using same account or created new one?
    2. Still same process but change bank name to garanti?

I am aware of the risks. Just going to do smaller transfers.
Also seems like Oldubil blocked on Google play. Well mine is. Was working with my Turkish profile a week or so ago but now doesn’t work anymore. Seems like Google caught on? Tried deleting all other Google accounts, cleared data and cache, rebooted. Still not working.

    • Just started a transfer using garanti. See how it goes.

      • Please report back when you get it.
