Just get a kegland adaptor and give up on the smaller gas bottles

Where do you get your Co2 refills? The convenience of being able to go anywhere to get a Sodastream refill is what's stopped me from getting a more conventional cylinder + adapter.

They are everywhere. It will actually be more convenient as you won't need to bring with you and swap these smaller bottles as often. My one lasts at least a year between needing to get refill.

Just Google "CO2 refill near me"

        • They aren't everywhere. Trying to buy one in Brisbane is not easy.

    • Another sodastream post another kegland thread lol.

Good idea depending on your benchtop ergonomics and how much you go through.
Hardly even make soda water unless wfh so the small one can last ages too.

We go through about 5-6 bottles a day. Get through a 6kg bottle in under 6 months. $50 refill

        • Yep. I have a bottle of soda water a day,my kegland CO2 bottle lasts over a year.

I can swap it out at my local hardware store that stocks replacement kegland CO2 bottles, ready to go.

Anybody saying to get a kegland adapter fails to mention that whilst it lasts alot longer and is cheaper, it also creates a much larger footprint/eyesore

I bought their refill valve and one of their smaller 'sodastream' cylinders. the cylinder is the same size as the normal sodastream bottle. when it runs out i can refill that bottle from my big bottle in storage. best of both worlds

    • Yes people dont understand it doesn't suit everyone.
And it's a bit of gear just to go to a stock plastic flimsy benchtop appliance.

  • and taste-wise, how does it compare to branded sparkling water you can buy on supermarkets?

    • It's good and no sodium too.
