240

New customers only.

The ANZ First is a simple credit card with a low annual fee and a minimum credit limit of $1,000 that could help with budgeting for repayments. Right now, you can get a $200 digital gift card when you apply for a new ANZ First credit card through Finder and spend $750 on eligible purchases in the first 3 months.

You’ll have a choice of brands to redeem it with too, including Woolworths, Uber Eats and Flight Centre. But with a relatively high 20.24% p.a. interest rate for purchases, you’ll get more value from this card if you can pay off the total balance by the due date on each statement (to get up to 55 interest-free days on purchases).

Full list of brands are:

  • Woolworths
  • Uber Eats
  • Flight Centre
  • The Iconic
  • Rebel Sport
  • Amazon
  • EG
  • H&M
  • JB Hi-Fi
  • Sephora

Details about the card:

  • $30 annual fee.
  • $1000 minimum credit limit
  • Up to 55 days interest free

Doesn't look like there's an income requirement.

Beware ANZ's application process these days is a lot more stringent and may require in-person checks.

  • Basically $170 profit ?

    • Should be unless I've missed something.

I'd say around $150ish. Those gift cards aren't worth full price IMO. I always see them at 10-15% discount, esp JB Hifi at full 15%. Having said that, I might not want to tie up my credit limit for $150 return.

      • +2

Choose Woolworths or Amazon and buy it off yourself for 100% return. You’d be silly to sell it at a discount

        • @cheekymonkey97 - haha alright then, lets say you have 2x Woolies GC to pick from. One sold by yourself at full price (face value) and the other sold by me for 5% off. Where would you put your money?

I totally understand that the value to you of those giftcards are 100% but in the open market, it will never sell for full price.

          • @nsingh21: Why would I sell the gift card for 5% off hence receiving 95% of the GC value when I can "buy it off myself" by using it for my grocery shopping and get 100% of the GC value?

            • @cheekymonkey97: @cheekymonkey97 - well you wouldn't but if you messaged me via classified section; I'd happily sell you either a Coles or Woolies GC for 5% off. <PS: for the mods: I'm not actually selling here, just a hypothetical argument>.

Q: Why would I sell? - A: Because I bought the Coles & Woolies GCs at 13.1% off so why not sell to you at 5 lol. JB Hifi is the highest, ~21-22% I think.

              • +1

@nsingh21: Unless you have an infinite stream of Coles and Woolies GCs at 13.1% off then it makes no sense to sell them since you're going to end up spending that money at Coles/Woolies in the future regardless. And if you do have a way of getting an infinite stream of Coles/Woolies GCs at 13.1% off, please do share haha

                • @cheekymonkey97: You're right about the infinite stream part. If there was such a method to get infinite cards at 13.1% off, everyone would be selling. In my case, I bought so many during promotions that I've got $2k lying around in just Woolies GC that I keep thinking I'll use but my spend isn't as fast as the rate of GC promotions being advertised 🤦🏽

I just think ANZ is a bit late here to reward with their own GC scheme. Other merchants like Coles, Preezee, etc are game on!

Having said that - I do like their Platinum credit card which comes with $250 cashback (NIL fees after 20k annual spend).

    Details to have handy…

Details of your income, expenses, assets and liabilities
Two recent pay slips for income verification
    If you’re self-employed, you’ll need your accountant’s phone number…

That sounds like an income requirement to me.

(Please don't get me wrong, it's a card I would apply for myself if I had an income, I'm not negging the deal.)

    • +1

Yeah that's fair, normally with credit card deals I see the income requirement on the actual page of the deal itself. Since that's not on the page and this card has a low min spend and is a new card I felt like it might be different in terms of income requirement.

I would stay away from ANZ credit cards, the amount of time I spent with customer support to explain my payslips was awful

    • I would stay away from ANZ credit cards,…

    • A couple years back I made an application for this exact card; 8 weeks to get approved, overseas customer support was not very helpful.

my sister earns 25000 p y. Can she apply this card?

    • +2

i just got denied, good luck.

i make over 100k with barely any bills. wtf

      • +2

That’s surprising… I applied for an ANZ card earlier this year and was approved, also make over $100k. That card had a $6k minimum credit limit too.

But I also have a decent amount (>$250k) of liquid assets which might have affected my application. They also asked for screenshots of all my share portfolios and dividend income to prove I wasn’t lying which was fair enough.

I think they’ve really tightened the screws with applications in the past 12 months.

        • Jesus I would be a little hesitant to share all those financial info with some outsourced India team… no offense to anyone but you really don't know if it'll be leaked. Plus all those requirements for a simple $6k card is a bit much.

        • Strange, I'm on 61k, already have an active credit card with a 5k limit, they pretty much straight accepted me with this one, just wanted a payslip

  • From the T&Cs,

Offer is for new and approved credit card applicants and is limited to one offer per applicant. ANZ may vary or end this offer at any time without notice. Not available in conjunction with other offers, packages or promotions, or when transferring from an existing ANZ credit card. The time it takes to process, approve an application and deliver or activate a card can vary and there may be delays.

Does this mean I’d be eligible even though I had an ANZ credit card within the last year but cancelled now?

    • That's what I am trying to work out. I think we can?

      • Any news on this?

    • +1

Yeah not sure either, maybe best to give them a call?

      • Did you call?

        • Nah. I recently had an ANZ card so assumed I wouldn’t be eligible for this one.

      Por que no los dos?

  • how to balance the
    30$fee /?

    • Balance the fee?

  • Avoid ANZ credit cards.
They used to be ok, but the current assessment team in India are hopeless and incompetent.
    Not worth the effort.

  • I recently closed my ANZ rewards black credit card. Am I still eligible for this offer?

    • Go to the link of the deal and check their T&Cs in the small print. Normally something along "not eligible if you have held <insert card type here> in last 12 months …."

  • Has anyone received the bonus yet?

    • And if so , how long did it take after reaching the minimum spend
