Good price on this BlitzWolf projector and an alternative to the popular BW-V5, albeit more expensive. According to Jayce Ooi Best Projector Chart this is the cheapest Linux projector available with Netflix certification, as well HD support for Disney+ and Prime Video.

With the Linux based OS there are over 200 apps to install and the projector has native 1080p resolution with 450 ANSI lumens, Dolby Audio speakers, HDR10 support, dual band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0 HDMI input, 2x USB and 2x 3.5mm jacks.

still cant get auto keystone correction 4 axis at this price point? ie 250bucks

Does my wall require Netflix certification to use this?

    • +11

The problem occurs when your are sharing walls with family and only one wall can be used at a time.

Netflix certification means its not stuck on 720p. Even if you have a 4k projector with built in android, if its not Netflix certified it will still run in 720p. To skip Netflix certification, you can get a chromecast and not use built in app.

      • so in theory is the v5 better (as in cheaper for money) if youre trying to get netflix to run on 1080P by chromecast ?

        • I went with the V5 after tossing up if the extra $100 or so is worth pointing up to get the V6 and my rationale was:

          • Built in OS(Linux) on the V6 is dependent on Blitzwolf maintaining and providing updates, sketchy down the line as it looses support and experiences slowdowns as the hardware becomes more outdated- on the V5, my plan was the get a Google TV and use that for standalone smart functions(and can upgrade as and when I like).
          • The V5 has two HDMI in ports(which was a nice to have for me as I could use one for the Google TV and have one spare for something else(laptop or connect to my NVIDIA shield from another room)

Downsides of the V5 compared to the V6 are:
          - Lower rated ANSI lumens(though JayceOoi's rating seem to indicate that it's not actually far off-of not, actually even better in real world terms)
          - more cables and dongles hanging about and using multiple remotes for streaming/playback(there isn't any HDMI CEC on either model but you could use the same remote on the V6 as smart funcs are built in)
          - if I recall, the V6 has support for Dolby 5.1 so if you're looking to get the full surround sound experience, this might be a deal breaker for the v5(but I can't remember if it was actually this model or one of the many dozens I'd ended up checking out)

        • So if you have a Plex server are you also good for 1080p with the native Plex app?

  • Does 2x 3.5mm jacks mean two people could watch stuff with headphones on if a portable drive with movies was attached to it?

    • +1

Second 3.5mm is composite AV. You could connect headphones to it with a couple of adapters but it'd be quiet and might stop outputting if the other port was in use.

    • +1

If you need dual audio output there are splitters that you could buy off ebay.

  • Zoom in and out functions available?

  • Does anyone know the throw distance? Its not in the ad.

the spreadsheet says what it is - the docs google one OP linked

You are evil OP. You had me watching the Jayce Ooi youTube videos and researching which projector to get when I DID NOT EVEN NEED IT.

    :-)
