Was looking to add a new printer before end of financial year and was tossing up between this one and the canon which has the same features. works out about $10 shipping in Victoria but Edge found the code DD422 which took off $10 so essentially free shipping in VIC. Ordered at midnight and arrived in 2 days. never used this company before but was impressed with the quick turnaround.
nice little tax deduction for those who WFH and small business.

  • Is it free

  • lol damn - i forgot the main part. hahahahaha sorry updated

      Store in title lol

  • Can it do duplex scan?

    • .Unfortunately, the printer cannot do 2-sided scanning

I had an old one Workforce 545 model that used ink cartridges and dried up every few days. The only way to print again was to “throw” away some dried up ink by using the ‘charge ink’ function. Ended up wasting more ink than actually printing with it.

    • Switched from a cartridge cannon to an ink tank cannon for the same reason. The ink tank is damn good. No disappearing ink issues. Running my current canon for 2 years now and still have 60% in the tank. Print weekly. Light primary school kiddie homework regime. Love it. (Apart from the scanner which is rubbish).

    • that's why I got this one to replace my old WF-3520. in the end it wouldn't recognise the cartridges at all

I was looking at these recently and ended up get the ET-5150 because it uses pigment inks which are better for photos.

never thought i'd see a normal-ish and pertinent comment from this account lol

    • Have you tried printing some labels with it?

      • +1

        No, just photos & documents…

But you'd do that via the rear feeder.

Printer collector here, I would prefer the ET-5150 over this, but the ET-5150 isn’t a photo printer.
Pigment inks are preferred by pros for their fade resistance, modern Epson dye inks are brighter and last 200years, unlike the inks of old. Need a min of 6 inks to be close to photo printing.

      • but the ET-5150 isn’t a photo printer.

        photos are pretty good…

If I need a professional quality one, I'll go to a store and pay the 50 cents.

Is ET-5150 the cheapest pigment based ecotank printer from Epson?

You can't narrow down your search to specific requirements on Epson website.

@crytotosaurus: Not sure, but I paid $579 from the Good Guys ebay store using an ebay voucher.

Went from workforce 2860 to ecotank 3800 and haven’t looked back. Fantastic if doing a fair bit of printing. Not scientific but would have probably spent 10x amount of workforce ink cartridges vs ecotank bottles. Got ecotank 3800 because it does duplex print.

I have a Epson ecotank for like 4 years now, has been flawless and even prints photos really well when using glossy photo paper,

  • Also FYI that I got at $40 Epson voucher (requires min $50 purchase) with the printer when I registered it.

I'm pretty sure I got one when i registered my last Epson printer too…

Used it to buy more ink and Epson photo paper…

can confirm - I received this also.

Set yourself a calendar reminder to use it, they are only valid for about a month or so…

  • That's a massive amount of black ink 14,000 pages from just one ink tank. And i thought the black ink tank on my Epson ET-4800 was big.

  • This should under $500 i reckon.

  • $524 + delivery here. However only a few in stock for delivery.
